With more and more network coding methods being put forward,the metric of network coding performance becomes a key issue in network coding *** this paper,relative traffic gain (RTG) is proposed to measure the performance of network coding;it is defined as the expected value of the ratio of saved traffic flows to the sum of all traffic *** the diversity of actual network traffic flow,the relationship between relative traffic gain and parameters of different traffic models is analyzed,including normal distribution model,Poisson distribution model,Constant Bit-Rate (CBR) traffic model,exponential distribution model and Pareto distribution *** bidirectional traffic flows and multiple traffic flows are taken as examples to analyze the relative traffic gain of network *** results show that:better relative traffic gain can be obtained under larger mean value μ and smaller standard deviation o for normal distribution,larger expected value λ for Poisson distribution,and smaller difference between the traffic flows' rates for CBR distribution,smaller λ for exponentional distribution and lager κ for Pareto *** results would help in measuring NC performance and give a reference to implementation and optimization of NC.

In this paper, we consider the problem of secure resource allocation in orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) two-way relay networks. Multiple sources exchange information with the assistance of an amplify-and-forward (AF) relay node in the presence of an eavesdropper. The joint subcarrier allocation, subcarrier pairing and power allocation problem aims to maximize the secrecy capacity for legitimate sources subject to limited power budget and orthogonal subcarrier allocation constraints. The optimization problem is modeled as a mixed integer programming problem, and then solved in an asymptotically optimal manner based on the dual method. Moreover, a suboptimal algorithm is proposed to reduce the complexity. Simulations are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed near optimal and suboptimal algorithms.

As a key technology for realizing future networks (FNs),network virtualization has attracted worldwide ***,how to construct a suitable virtual network (VN) requires effective techniques for VN *** this paper,we present a new VN mapping algorithm that can guarantee the network *** uses both node resources and connected link resources as the metric of available node resources in node *** chooses link betweenness sensitivity as the cost of a link when using k-shortestpath algorithm in link *** simulation results show that the proposed algorithm guarantees the network robustness while increasing the acceptance ratio.

Modeling MIMO time-variant channels as real world of wave propagation environments dictates, becomes crucial in wireless communication where an accurate knowledge about the channel state information is expected to be available for the transceivers. However instead of having unreliable and inefficiency instantaneous channel state information (CSI) where the feedback mechanisms often generate a delay in receiving information and thus the loss in throughput, a partial information can be obtained by means of the channel covariance. In this paper we have instigated a new scheme of modeling MIMO channel in terms of multiple rings scattering environments and the covariance estimated is determined on the basis of experimental results leaded. The application is precisely made on the reliability of the link of the 2x2 MIMO multi ring scattering channel system and without any precoding systems which generally increase complexities in implementation, we provide its millimeter wave 60GHz channel's impact on the performances of the orthogonal space-time block code (OSTBC) and V- BLAST signaling which are shown to be close to that of uncorrelated channel.

Femtocell is an effective technology to improve the system performance. In this paper, we address the problem of sub-channels allocation in OFDMA two-tier femtocell networks. Our objective is to maximize the rate sum of multiple femtocells with consideration of cross-tier interference between macrocell and multiple femtocells. A resource optimization approach based on Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm is proposed to implement the solution process of system. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms not only improve the capacity of the femtocell system but also provide good proportional fairness among the femtocell users, as compared with the traditional algorithm.

Femtocells, combined with orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), can improve cellular coverage and offload traffics from existing macrocells. However, the co-channel deployment of femtocells is still facing challenges arising from potentially severe co-channel interference in dense femtocells. In this paper, we investigate the uplink power allocation problem in dense deployed femtocells. We first model the uplink power allocation in femtocells as a non-cooperative game, where co-channel interference is taken into account in maximizing the femtocell capacity and uplink femto-to-femto interference is alleviated by charging each femto user a price proportional to the signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR). Based on the non-cooperative game, we then devise a distributed power allocation algorithm with differentiated pricing update. Simulation results show that the proposed power allocation algorithm is not only able to provide improved capacities for femtocells, but also can improve users' fairness, as compared with existing unpriced water filling power allocation algorithm.

Variable bit rate (VBR) video traffic, exhibiting high self-similarity and burstiness, has been a major traffic component in high speed network. However, its complex bit rate distribution makes VBR video traffic prediction, especially multistep ahead prediction, very difficult. Recently, deterministic echo state network with adjacent-feedback loop reservoir structure (ALR) was proved to have high prediction accuracy, good memory capacity, and simple structure. In the paper, we apply ALR to real-time VBR video traffic prediction. The proposed scheme makes use of loop reservoir with identity activation function to conduct sample learning in high dimension states. Experimental results show that the simplified ALR scheme can effectively capture dynamic characteristics of VBR video traffic with less training time. Its multistep prediction accuracy is improved by 2% on average, compared with the neural network based on multi-resolution learning.

Short preamble MAC protocols such as X-MAC use a series of consecutive short preamble packets with pauses between them, which refer to as a strobed preamble. Target receiver can send an ACK packet during those pauses to stop the preamble transmission. Hence, the average length of transmitted preamble is reduced in this way, higher energy efficiency and lower latency are achieved accordingly. But with pauses longer than the transmission of an ACK packet, the sampling period at receivers is increased significantly as well, which makes it suboptimal of energy efficiency in light traffic load networks. In this paper, the XY-MAC proposes a technique called early termination to sharpen the size of those pauses. With sharpened pauses, the sampling period at receivers can be effectively reduced to acquire a high level of energy efficiency, especially under low traffic loads. A set of experiments have been held to compare with X-MAC. The results show that the duty cycle can be reduced to 37% to 65% of X-MAC under various traffic loads and bit rates.

In two-way relay networks (TWRNs) with physical-layer network coding (PNC), introduction of convolutional codes is able to enhance the overall system reliability. In addition, the relay node has to determine a particular broadcast rate for coded packets transmission as the selected rate should be supported on the worst quality links to the intended receivers. Thus, the throughput gain brought by network coding is limited by capacity of the worst link in TWRNs. In this paper, a novel symbol-level rate diverse network coding (RDNC) scheme and reduced-state decoding scheme for convolutional codes are proposed to address the two problems. In this setup, for a given memory length constraint, two source nodes can adopt convolutional codes of different lengths and use reduced-state trellis to reduce decoding complexity. In this work, it is shown that the proposed approach is able to improve system throughput significantly, offer increased reliability, and reduce the complexity of convolutional codes decoding at the same time.
