Recently, space-air-ground integrated network (SAGIN) has been widely concerned which satisfies the emerging requirement of ubiquitous high-rate wireless communication services. Due to the high mobility of satellites and aircraft in SAGIN, user handover occurs frequently. Fast and secure handover is essential to ensure the global seamless coverage of SAGIN. Existing studies mainly focus on improving the authentication security during handover process and reducing the signaling and computation overhead. However, no one optimizes the handover delay with a given security requirement in SAGIN. In this paper, we propose a new handover scheme based on pre-authentication and security context transfer, and optimize the selection of satellite nodes to ensure fast and secure handoffs. Simulation results show that our scheme algorithm reduces the handover delay by 16.92% compared with baseline algorithm.

Virtual network embedding (VNE) is one of the central parts of network virtualization, and its main objective is to maximize the revenue of substrate networks(SN). In the previous studies, heuristic algorithms are widely used to solve the embedding problems, but they are liable to trap in local optimum. In addition, they also have slow convergence rates which are caused by ignoring the intrinsic characteristics of the VNE. In this paper, on the first hand, we improve the cross operator of traditional genetic algorithm (GA) to an adaptive cross operator, in order to increase the convergence speed;on the other hand, a simulated annealing algorithm is used to replace the mutation operation, and the simulated annealing idea is adopted to modify the selection operation to avoid the local optimization. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has a significant improvement in the VNE acceptance rate and the revenue-to-cost ratio. © 2019 IEEE.

An increasing number of Industry Internet of Things (IIoT) applications put forward the requirements for strict time synchronization and accurate time service from providers. In order to indicate the time service performance of the Internet Time Service Providers (TSPs) on user sides, we build an Internet time service monitoring system which can obtain the real-time data of time service through the Internet. The monitoring system records the time service's performance from three major categories: NTP pool projects, National Metrology Institutes and Commercial Organizations. After that, we propose three service metrics, in terms of Availability, Stability and Accuracy, to evaluate the performance of time service provided by TSPs. On the other hand, a novel anomaly detection algorithm is proposed to gather the statistics of abnormal data and then remove the abnormal data. Experimental results show that 56 TSPs' availability are more than 95%. It indicates that a longer transmission path results in a lower availability. The further analyzed results also denote that the link hops have no correlations of Availability, Stability and Accuracy. Moreover, the relationship between Stability and Accuracy is positively correlated.

Mobile crowdsensing (MCS) has appeared as a viable solution for data gathering in Internet of Vehicle (IoV). As it utilizes plenty of mobile users to perform sensing tasks, the cost on sensor deployment can be reduced and the data quality can be improved. However, there exist two main challenges for the IoV-based MCS, which are the privacy issues and the existence of malicious vehicles. In order to solve these two challenges simultaneously, we propose a privacy-protecting reputation management scheme in IoV-based MCS. In particular, our privacy-protecting scheme can execute quickly since its complexity is extremely low. The reputation management scheme considers vehicle's past behaviors and quality of information. In addition, we introduced time fading into the scheme, so that our scheme can detect the malicious vehicles accurately and quickly. Moreover, latency in the IoV must be exceedingly low. With the help of the mobile edge computing (MEC) which is deployed on the base station side and has powerful computing capability, the latency can be greatly reduced to meet the requirements of the IoV. Simulation results demonstrate effectiveness of our reputation management scheme in resisting malicious vehicles, which can assess the reputation value accurately and detect the malicious vehicles quickly while protecting the privacy.

A novel circular polarized microstrip 4-unit array antenna based on sequential phase (SP) feed network is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna is designed to work at 33 GHz. Four square tangential circular polarization patches are connected to the SP feeding network to form a 2×2 microstrip array to achieve better circular polarization performance. A content driven resource allocation scheme for video transmission in vehicular networks

With the growing computer vision applications, lots of videos are transmitted for content analysis, the way to allocate resources can affect the performance of video content analysis. For this purpose, the traditional resource allocation schemes for video transmission in vehicular networks, such as quality-of-service (QoS) based or quality-of-experience (QoE) based schemes, are no longer optimal anymore. In this paper, we propose an efficient content driven resource allocation scheme for vehicles equipped with cameras under bandwidth constraints in order to improve the video content analysis performance. The proposed resource allocation scheme is based on maximizing the quality-of-content (QoC), which is related to the content analysis performance. A QoC based assessment model is first proposed. Then, the resource allocation problem is converted to a solvable convex optimization problem. Finally, simulation results show the better performance of our proposed scheme than the existing schemes like QoE based schemes. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, the problem of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) deployment is investigated for visible light communication (VLC)-enabled UAV networks. Here, UAVs can simul-taneously provide communications and illumination services to ground users. In this model, ambient illumination distribution of the service area must be considered since it can cause interference over the VLC link and affects the illumination requirements of users. This problem is formulated as an optimization problem, which jointly considers UAV deployment, user association, power efficiency, and predictions of the illumination distribution. To solve this problem, we first need to predict illumination distribution to proactively determine the UAV deployment and user association so as to minimize total transmission power of UAVs. To predict the illumination distribution of the entire service area, a federated learning framework based on the machine learning algorithm of convolutional auto-encoder (CAE) is proposed. Compared to the centralized machine learning algorithms that requires complete illumination data for centralized training, the proposed algorithm enables the UAVs to train their local CAE with partial illumination data and cooperatively build a global CAE model that can predict the entire illumination distribution. Using these predictions, the optimal UAV deployment and user association policy that minimizes the total transmission power of UAVs is determined. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach reduces the transmission power of UAVs up to 14.8% and 25.1%, respectively, compared to the local CAE prediction models and the conventional optimal algorithm without illumination distribution predictions.

network function virtualization (NFV), software defined networks (SDNs), and mobile edge computing (MEC) are emerging as core technologies to satisfy increasing number of users' demands in 5G and beyond wireless networks. SDN provides clean separation of the control plane from the data plane while NFV enables the flexible and on-the-fly creation and placement of virtual network functions (VNFs) and are able to be executed within the various locations of a distributed system and, in our case, in the NFV-enabled MEC nodes. VNF placement and resource allocation (VNFPRA) problem is considered in this paper which involves placing VNFs optimally in distributed NFV-enabled MEC nodes and assigning MEC resources efficiently to these VNFs to satisfy users' requests in the network. Current solutions to this problem are slow and cannot handle real-time requests. To this end, we propose an SDN-NFV infrastructure to tackle the VNFPRA problem in wireless MEC networks. Our aim is to minimize the overall placement and resource cost. Two algorithms are proposed: (i) an optimal solution formulated as a mixed integer program (MIP) problem (ii) a genetic based heuristic solution. The superior performance of the proposed solution is confirmed in comparison with two existing algorithms such as Random-Fit Placement Algorithm (RFPA) and First-Fit Placement Algorithm (FFPA). The results demonstrate that a coordinated placement of VNFs in SDN/NFV enabled MEC networks can satisfy the objective of overall reduced cost. Simulation results also reveal that the proposed scheme approximates well with our optimal solution returned by gurobi and also achieves reduction on overall cost compared to other methods.

Novel visible light communication assisted perspective-four-line algorithm for indoor localization

In this paper, we propose a novel visible light communication (VLC) assisted Perspective-four-Line algorithm (V-P4L) for practical indoor localization. The basic idea of V-P4L is to joint VLC and computer vision to achieve high accuracy regardless of LED height differences. In particular, we first exploit the space-domain information to estimate the orientation and coordinate of a single rectangular LED luminaire in the camera coordinate system based on the plane and solid geometry. Then, based on the time-domain information transmitted by VLC and the estimated luminaire information, V-P4L can estimate the position and pose of the camera by the single-view geometry theory and the linear least square (LLS) method. To further mitigate the effect of height differences among LEDs on localization accuracy, we then propose a correction algorithm of V-P4L based on the LLS method and a simple optimization method. Due to the combination of time- and space-domain information, V-P4L only requires a single luminaire for localization without limitation on the correspondences between the features and their projections. Simulation results show that for V-P4L the position error is always less than 15 cm and the orientation error is always less than 3◦ using popular indoor luminaires. Copyright © 2020, The Authors.
