Video applications are extremely important due to the overwhelming number of applications in the future wireless networks. The frequent bursty interference caused by the dense base stations poses a major challenge to improve quality of experience (QoE) for video application. In this paper, we propose a novel interference management schemes termed dynamic interference shaping method(DISM), in which the peak rate of best effort service is decreased by introduce the rate scaling factor(RSF) to improve the QoE for video applications. First, the cellular interference traffic is analyzed and modeled. The interference characteristics of multi-services are investigated and the QoE perception models are presented. Also we develop the utility function and utilize the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to obtain the optimal RSF. Experiment has demonstrated the proposed algorithm significantly improves the QoE for video users with the negligible decrease in QoE for best effort users.

This paper presents a distributed system for real-time anomaly detection in backbone. The backbone traffic is so huge that it is difficult to monitor abnormal traffic by traditional methods. Our system is based on Hadoop, an open source framework, and used to detect the abnormal traffic. Firstly, We establish a precise regression model to describe the network traffic. Secondly, distributed system Hadoop is used to detect the abnormal traffic. Finally, the experimental results prove that our system can detect the abnormal traffic accurately and efficiently in the real-world network environment.

This paper focuses on the modeling of High-Speed Railway (HSR) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. By using the geometry-based statistical method and ray tracing technique, a train-ground channel model based on the measurement of actual channel is proposed. Then the time-domain attenuation, channel capacity, Doppler power spectrum are simulated and analyzed to verify the validity of our model. In addition, as the velocity of the HSR leads to critical time-selective fading, so the speed on the influence of these parameters are also analyzed in this paper. All these results significantly promote the evaluation, simulation and design of the wireless communication system based on long term evolution (LTE) application to the future high speed railway.

Hybrid routing protocols in Ad Hoc networks combine proactive routing protocols with on-demand routing protocols and take advantages of both. However, the cost in delays and overheads resulted from simple domain formation algorithm of existing hybrid routing protocols is a main obstacle in improving the performance of overall ad hoc network. Owing to the above issues, in this paper we creatively apply the idea of clustering routing to hybrid routing protocols and propose a centralized adaptive hybrid routing protocol referred to as CAHR. In CAHR, several key nodes are selected using the centralized adaptive selection algorithm and different domains are formed according to the key nodes elected. By taking advantages of the key nodes, redundancy of routing forward is avoided, routing overheads are reduced and as a consequence, routing efficiency is improved. With simulations in OPNET Modeler of various scenarios, the superiority of CAHR is verified over traditional hybrid routing protocols in routing overheads, end-to-end latency, throughput and packet delivery rate.

Advances in wireless communication techniques enable pervasive and ubiquitous video applications. Among different factors concerned, energy efficiency is one of the most challenging issues in multimedia communication due to huge data traffic. Dynamic bursty interference sourcing from transmission of best effort service can make the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR) of video traffic fluctuate drastically. To obtain the target SINR, Home eNodeB (HeNB) needs to frequently increase transmit power, resulting in considerable extra energy consumption. In addition, if the required transmit power to maintain target SINR exceeds the maximum power threshold, serving HeNB would keep transmitting with maximum power which produce extra interference and may cause some other users also couldn't reach their target SINRs. To solve the problem, we propose an interference shaping based approach to smooth the SINR fluctuation in the time domain and achieve the goal of energy saving. Numerical results show that about 30% energy can be saved applying our approach.

The directional 60GHz mmWave WPAN system can support concurrent transmissions owing to reduced interference among links. In this paper, a simple but effective STDMA scheduling scheme based on IEEE 802.11ad is proposed. In order to take user fairness into account in the concurrent link scheduling, an adjustment factor is first introduced, and a link scheduling scheme with low complexity is designed on that basis. Simulation results show that a tradeoff between fairness and throughput is achieved by the use of the adjustment factor. Although the complexity of the proposed algorithm is much lower than that of exhaustive search, nearly the same throughput can be achieved in the extreme case.

Content-Centric networking (CCN) focuses on content acquisition rather than end-to-end communication by decoupling content resources from special hosts. CCN does not need maintain stable paths between nodes and is independent of IP addresses, which make CCN convenient and efficient for mobile ad hoc network (MANET). In this paper, we develop an analytical model of content acquisition for Content-Centric MANET (CCM) in two-dimensional case, which considers in-network caching and nodes mobility. Closed-form expressions for round trip time and throughput are derived as functions of miss probabilities. From the expressions, we can obtain the relationship among the round trip time, cache size and content popularity. Simulations show that our model can be used as a guide to design CCM and to evaluate its performance.

By taking advantage of the regularity of train track, a high-data-rate access system based on 802.11 network is proposed for passengers to surf on Internet when they are travelling on the railway or subway. The system mainly consists of a gateway with multi-antennas on the train, terminals in the train and access points (APs) along the track. Then, a location aware based handoff algorithm (LAB-HA) is proposed to shorten the time on handoff, avoid the signaling storm and decrease the packet loss ratio caused by frequent handoff. In LAB-HA, numbers of handoff procedures between lots of terminals with passengers and APs along the way can be replaced by the only one handoff procedure between the gateway and APs. The LAB-HA algorithm contains three parts. Firstly, creating and maintaining a table of APs which contains the location information for handoff process. The candidate location area for handoff is selected by statistical learning, where the probability of successful handoff is nearly 100%. Secondly, the gateway is authenticated. Only when the gateway moves into an extended service set (ESS) at first time, it sends the authentication request packet to the new AP. Finally, the gateway on the train detects its location information by GPS periodically while moving. If it moves into the candidate area, the handoff process is triggered. The table is then updated by the result whether the handoff is successful or not. Simulation results reveal that LAB-HA can reduce the handoff latency dramatically compared with fast BSS transition (FT) in the 802.11 standard, and LAB-HA is more reliable while it provides higher throughput. LAB-HA can be used in wireless access network based on 802.11 for data transmission in some special scenes, such as subway or railway.

In this paper, we consider the problem of interference mitigation in the downlink of multicell networks via base station coordination. In this paper, a simple and efficient scheme for interference management based on potential game is proposed. The main emphasis of this paper is placed on the problem of users quality of service (QoS) in order to maximize the efficient throughput of system. Meanwhile, a pricing factor is introduced which is proportion to the co-channel interference to other base stations. Furthermore, an improved gradient projection rule with variable step size and Jacobi iterative algorithm are utilized to solve the optimization problem. Pareto optimal is verified by using "price of anarchy" as an optimize performance indicators in potential game. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme can significantly improve the performance of multicell networks.

Hierarchical layering of cells with macrocells coexisting with low-power small cells has been investigated as a promising technique to enhance coverage extension and reduce power consumption, which has emerged as a candidate for green communications. Due to the challenging interference scenarios, Cell Range Extension (CRE) and enhanced inter-cell interference coordination (eICIC) are the key technologies that make HetNets a reality. However, when macrocells and low-power nodes (LPNs) share the same spectrum, the total network throughput could actually decrease due to CRE if the inter-layer interference can't be effectively managed. In this paper, we propose an inter-layer interference coordination scheme on the downlink side for a co-channel macro-pico HetNet that carries out CRE technique. The idea of the proposed method is to coordinate frequency and power resource allocation among macrocells and picocells with a set of rules, which can lead to interference mitigation and power reduction. Then a utility function combining interference and throughput is calculated to find the optimal transmission power of each macro base station (MBS) in some special bands by using Differential Evolution (DE) theory. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed method can not only promote the system throughput and energy efficiency greatly but also keep better link quality in the system.
