Active disturbance-rejection methods are effective in estimating and rejecting disturbances in both transient and steady-state *** paper presents a deep observation on and a comparison between two of those methods:the generalized extended-state observer(GESO)and the equivalent input disturbance(EID)from assumptions,system configurations,stability conditions,system design,disturbance-rejection performance,and extensibility.A time-domain index is introduced to assess the disturbance-rejection performance.A detailed observation of disturbance-suppression mechanisms reveals the superiority of the EID approach over the GESO method.A comparison between these two methods shows that assumptions on disturbances are more practical and the adjustment of disturbance-rejection performance is easier for the EID approach than for the GESO method.

Camera-Invariant Meta-Learning Network for Single-Camera-Training Person Re-Identification

Single-camera-training person re-identification (SCT re-ID) aims to train a re-ID model using SCT datasets where each person appears in only one camera. The main challenge of SCT re-ID is to learn camera-invariant feature representations without cross-camera same-person (CCSP) data as supervision. Previous methods address it by assuming that the most similar person should be found in another camera. However, this assumption is not guaranteed to be correct. In this paper, we propose a novel solution: the Camera-Invariant Meta-Learning Network (CIMN) for SCT re-ID. CIMN operates under the premise that camera-invariant feature representations should remain robust despite changes in camera settings. To achieve this, we partition the training data into a meta-train set and a meta-test set based on camera IDs. We then conduct a cross-camera simulation using a meta-learning strategy, aiming to enforce the feature representations learned from the meta-train set to be robust when applied to the meta-test set. We further introduce three specific loss functions to leverage potential identity relations between the meta-train set and the meta-test set. Through the cross-camera simulation and the introduced loss functions, CIMN can extract feature representations that are both camera-invariant and identity-discriminative even in the absence of CCSP data. Our experimental results demonstrate that CIMN can extract feature representations that are both camera-invariant and identity-discriminative, even in the absence of CCSP data. our method achieves comparable performance with and without the use of CCSP data, and outperforms state-of-the-art methods on three SCT re-ID benchmarks. © 2014 IEEE.

Domain adaptive object detection (DAOD) aims to generalize detectors trained on an annotated source domain to an unlabelled target domain. As the visual-language models (VLMs) can provide essential general knowledge on unseen images, freezing the visual encoder and inserting a domain-agnostic adapter can learn domaininvariant knowledge for DAOD. However, the domain-agnostic adapter is inevitably biased to the source domain. It discards some beneficial knowledge discriminative on the unlabelled domain, i.e. domain-specific knowledge of the target domain. To solve the issue, we propose a novel Domain-Aware Adapter (DA-Ada) tailored for the DAOD task. The key point is exploiting domain-specific knowledge between the essential general knowledge and domain-invariant knowledge. DA-Ada consists of the Domain-Invariant Adapter (DIA) for learning domain-invariant knowledge and the Domain-Specific Adapter (DSA) for injecting the domain-specific knowledge from the information discarded by the visual encoder. Comprehensive experiments over multiple DAOD tasks show that DA-Ada can efficiently infer a domain-aware visual encoder for boosting domain adaptive object detection. Andrias davidianus(Chinese giant salamander,CGS)is the largest and oldest extant amphibian species in the world and is a source of prospective functional food in ***,the progress of functional peptides mining was slow due to lack of reference genome and protein sequence *** this study,we illustrated full-length transcriptome sequencing to interpret the proteome of CGS meat and obtain 10703 coding DNA *** functional annotation and amino acid composition analysis,we have discovered various genes related to signal transduction,and 16 genes related to *** have also found vast variety of functional peptides through protein coding sequence(CDS)analysis by comparing the data obtained with the functional peptide ***-Pro-Ile predicted by the CDS analysis was released from the CGS meat through enzymatic hydrolysis,suggesting that our approach is *** study suggested that transcriptomic analysis can be used as a reference to guide polypeptide mining in CGS meat,thereby providing a powerful mining strategy for the bioresources with unknown genomic and proteomic sequences.

Multitask Optimization Via Feature Clustering of Particle Swarm for Bi-Level Optimization

The goal of bi-level optimization (BLO) is to find the optimal solution of the upper-level problem, when the lower-level problems obtain the optimal solutions. However, due to the nested hierarchical characteristics, the existing evolutionary algorithms need to consume a lot of computing resources for BLO problems, resulting in slow convergence. To address this issue, a multitask optimization algorithm via feature clustering of particle swarm (MTO-FCPS) is designed. First, the feature information is presented by the fitness landscape characteristics of lower-level objective. Then, the feature information can represent the relationship between the upper-level candidate solutions. Second, the feature clustering strategy is proposed to construct all the lower-level optimization into MTO. Then, solving multiple lower-level optimization problems in parallel can realize the parallel analysis of all the upper-level candidate solutions. Third, the adaptive knowledge transfer strategy, based on feature information, is designed to ensure the information sharing of the underlying MTO. Then, the lower-level of MTO can further reduce the cost of computing resources as much as possible while ensuring the accuracy of convergence. Finally, some comparative experiments are carried out based on two kinds of benchmark test problems. The results demonstrate that MTO-FCPS has advantages in saving computing resources for BLO. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Type-2 fuzzy neural networks (T2FNNs) have gained popularity due to their processing ability for high uncertainty. However, concerned with the high-dimensional problems of nonlinear systems, the interpretability of individual T2FNNs is weak due to the exponential growth of fuzzy rules. To deal with this problem, an information orientation-based modular T2FNN (IO-MT2FNN) is developed to improve its interpretability in this paper. First, an information entropy-based decomposition method is designed to divide the original input space into three sub-spaces, namely edge, local and global regions. Then, the information with different attributes is separated to provide an unambiguous interpretation. Second, the independent module describing these regions with type-2 fuzzy sets is embedded in the membership function layer of IO-MT2FNN to represent the coupling relationship between regional information in an interpretable way. Third, an information mapping strategy is introduced with low-order Gaussian kernel matrices, instead of a high-order mapping matrix, to extract the features from the allocated information in each module, which enables IO-MT2FNN to achieve a compact topology through dimensionality reduction. Finally, the simulations demonstrate that the proposed IO-MT2FNN can compete with the advanced approaches in terms of interpretability for the prediction of high-dimensional and complex systems. © 2024, The Authors. Learning how to fully extract global representations and local features is a key factor in improving the performance of polyp segmentation. In this paper, we explore the potential of combined techniques of Transformers and convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to address the challenges of polyp segmentation. Specifically, we present TransMixer, a hybrid interaction fusion architecture of the Transformer branch and the CNN branch, which is able to enhance the local details of global representations and the global context awareness of local features. To achieve this, we first bridge the semantic gap between the Transformer branch and the CNN branch through the Interaction Fusion Module (IFM), and then make full use of both respective properties to enhance polyp feature representations. After that, we further propose the Hierarchical Attention Module (HAM) to collect polyp semantic information from high-level features to gradually guide the recovery of polyp spatial information in low-level features. Quantitative and qualitative results show that the proposed model is more robust to various complex situations compared to existing methods, and achieves state-of-the-art performance in polyp segmentation. © 2022 IEEE.

Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) leverage deep learning networks to restore high-quality implicit representations of 3D scenes from 2D images, surpassing traditional texture mapping in rendering quality. Typically, reconstructed images by NeRF exist in a reference coordinate system, necessitating consideration of each surface's information in a single shot. Overlapping parts in adjacent images are addressed by obtaining the camera pose through sparse COLMAP reconstruction. However, occluded regions, caused by contact with support surfaces, pose challenges for complete reconstruction. To address this, we propose a scene fusion algorithm based on NeRF, facilitating the amalgamation of neural radiance fields under different reference coordinate systems. This reduces data requirements and shooting conditions, enhancing the implicit 3D reconstruction of real objects. By estimating the translation and rotation relationship between image capture angles and the NeRF model, we fuse neural radiance fields in distinct reference coordinate systems, completing object surface information. Evaluation is conducted on both NeRF synthetic dataset and real objects.
