Moving Target Defense (MTD) is commonly used in changing the asymmetric situation between attack and defense in cyberspace. Route mutation is a vital branch of MTD. Current route mutation methods still have some limitations on unpredictability of mutating routing paths and time overhead. In this paper, we propose a Dynamic Random Route Mutation (DRRM) mechanism in order to maximize the unpredictability of mutation and reduce the time overhead. First, we adopt Jaccard distance matrix and temporal constraint to improve mutation space. Mutation space can be dynamically shifted to enhance the unpredictability. Then, we weaken attackers' capabilities of launching effective eavesdropping at a certain node by using route weight. Finally, we construct a pre-distribution strategy to reduce the transmission latency caused by route mutation. Simulation results show that DRRM not only raises the difficulty of network eavesdropping, but also ensures low mutation time overhead. © 2021 IEEE.

In the field of object detection bounding box regression, IoU (Intersection over Union) is a commonly used evaluation metric for measuring the overlap between predicted and ground truth bounding boxes. One limitation of IoU, however, is that the gradient goes to zero when there is no intersection between bounding boxes. Recent evaluation metrics have been developed to overcome this problem by incorporating penalty terms and other techniques for improving IoU. Despite these advances, existing methods still suffer to some degree from the problems of small gradients and slow rate of convergence. In this paper, a new evaluation method named LIoU (Location IoU) is proposed to address these issues. It can maximize the shared area of the intersection when used as the loss function and incorporate a variable gradient parameter to fit to datasets of different sizes. The experimental results indicate that we achieve 0.27% and 3.48% accuracy improvements respectively in SSD and YOLOv5 network on the VOC dataset, and 2.23% in the YOLOv5 network on the COCO dataset. The results of this study highlight the effectiveness of LIoU in improving the performance of object detection models.

Remote State Estimation for Complex Networks Under Probabilistic Bit Flips: A Transmission Power Allocation Scheme

In this paper, the problem of remote state estimation is investigated for a class of complex networks with noisy wireless communication channels. The employment of the binary encoding scheme allows for the description of the influence of channel noises as probabilistic bit flips, where the probability of these bit flips is influenced by several factors with the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) being a crucial one. In engineering practice, the method of adjusting the transmission power for each node in a complex network is commonly applied to modify the SNR so as to reduce the data distortion caused by bit flips. Furthermore, due to restricted communication resources, the total available transmission power is often limited particularly in large-scale systems such as complex networks. Consequently, the allocation of transmission power for all nodes under a total transmission power constraint becomes a concern. Utilizing the ultimately bounded filtering method, we devise a transmission-power-dependent state estimator, by which the combined effect of probabilistic bit flips and transmission power allocation on estimation performance is analyzed. Moreover, the task of co-designing the transmission power allocation scheme and estimator gains is modeled as an optimization problem, which is then addressed through a two-step optimization strategy. The existence of a unique optimal transmission power allocation scheme is also proven. Finally, numerical simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed co-design approach. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Enhancing colorectal polyp segmentation with TCFMA-Net: A transformer-based cross feature and multi-attention network

To enhance polyp segmentation in colonoscopy images for early detection and diagnosis of colorectal cancer. The study proposed the Transformer-based cross feature multi-attention network (TCFMA-Net) for polyp segmentation by addressing challenges such as varying polyp sizes and the problem of accurate boundaries. TCFMA-Net utilizes swin transformer-based encoders, a cross-feature enhancer network with multiple cross-feature enhancer blocks, and multi-attention modules integrated within and outside the decoder blocks. This enables comprehensive cross-feature fusion, preserving image clarity and facilitating the flow of information, allowing efficient processing of both low-level and high-level features. TCFMA-Net effectively captures the complexities of polyp size variations and boundaries issues and consistently outperforms existing methods on six benchmark datasets with confidence interval (CI), achieving a Dice score of 92.74 ± 0.10, (CI: 91.92, 94.04), 91.46 ± 0.14 (CI: 91.12, 92.72), and 87.34 ± 0.13, (CI: 86.19, 88.10) on the CVC-ClinicDB, Kvasir-SEG and BKAI-IGH datasets respectively, demonstrating its robustness in diverse polyp segmentation tasks. Generalizability tests also yielded Dice scores of 89.51 ± 0.10, (CI: 88.67, 89.71), 72.91 ± 0.09, (CI: 71.39, 74.14), and 65.83 ± 0.22, (CI: 65.47, 66.52) on the CVC-300, CVC-ColonDB, and Polypgen databases respectively. TCFMA-Net demonstrates superior performance in segmenting polyps across datasets, effectively handling variations in polyp characteristics and demonstrating robust generalization capabilities. This study presents a significant advancement in polyp segmentation methods, offering an accurate and reliable tool for colorectal cancer diagnosis.

Vessel segmentation is widely used to help with vascular disease diagnosis. Vessels reconstructed using existing methods are often not sufficiently accurate to meet clinical use standards. This is because 3D vessel structures are highly complicated and exhibit unique characteristics, including sparsity and anisotropy. In this paper, we propose a novel hybrid deep neural network for vessel segmentation. Our network consists of two cascaded subnetworks performing initial and refined segmentation respectively. The second subnetwork further has two tightly coupled components, a traditional CNN-based U-Net and a graph U-Net. Cross-network multi-scale feature fusion is performed between these two U-shaped networks to effectively support high-quality vessel segmentation. The entire cascaded network can be trained from end to end. The graph in the second subnetwork is constructed according to a vessel probability map as well as appearance and semantic similarities in the original CT volume. To tackle the challenges caused by the sparsity and anisotropy of vessels, a higher percentage of graph nodes are distributed in areas that potentially contain vessels while a higher percentage of edges follow the orientation of potential nearby vessels. Extensive experiments demonstrate our deep network achieves state-of-the-art 3D vessel segmentation performance on multiple public and in-house datasets. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Society 5.0 addresses human behaviors and their consequences in social management, while emphasizing the integration of Cyber-Physical-Social Spaces to achieve a highly connected and circulated society. Prompted by the various social needs expressed on social media platforms, Prescriptive Manufacturing (PM) emerges as a proactive pre-manufacturing paradigm. This paper delves into PM within the context of Society 5.0. It highlights the development of Human Autonomous Organizations (HAOs) and the delivery of “on-demand” smart services, which are customized to meet both individual and broader societal demands. The social sensing framework of social needs across different social media platforms that enables the identification and anticipation of consumer demands in real-time is illustrated. This data-driven insight leverages artificial intelligence and robotics to facilitate customized design and on-demand production, aligning product creation with real user requirements. Furthermore, we discuss the implementation of human-centered smart services in PM, such as virtual try-on, virtual fitting, personalized retrofit, user-friendly scheduling, and proximity logistics, which not only enhance consumer experience but also optimize resource efficiency By examining the symbiosis between technological advancements and social need fulfillment, this study sheds light on how PM and HAOs can foster a more responsive, sustainable, and inclusive economy in society, ultimately contributing to a higher quality of life and sustainable development goals of Society 5.0.

The task of liquid volume estimation based on tactile sensing is challenging. Previous researches mainly focused on the classification of different contents in the container, rather than achieving accurate estimation of a certain property of the contents in container, such as volume or viscosity. In addition, few studies are conducted for the regression task with advanced tactile sensors, but the performance is unsatisfactory. We propose a new deep-learning algorithm for processing the tactile signals collected from the photoresistors in the task of liquid content estimation. The proposed algorithm doesn’t need hand-crafted features. In addition, we use attention after BLSTM, so that more important features can be selected to achieve better performance for liquid volume estimation. We utilize a bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory (BLSTM) architecture, which allows for the incorporation of information from both preceding and subsequent time, thereby providing a more comprehensive and informative feature set for learning. Additionally, we employ an attention mechanism following the BLSTM, allowing for the selection of more critical features and improved performance in liquid volume estimation. To prove the effectiveness of our method, we conduct experiments utilizing tactile sensors on a physical robot, achieving superior performance in liquid volume estimation.

3D printing technology has rapidly advanced, yet the variability in deployment environments poses significant challenges for monitoring systems, because the dynamic deployment environments such as changes in lighting and monitoring camera status, can severely impact the effectiveness and robustness of monitoring systems. To tackle this problem in monitoring system, this paper introduces a novel approach for deep neural network (DNN) adaptation to the dynamic environments through self-supervised learning and applies it to during in-situ monitoring. Specifically, we introduce a self-supervised learning strategy that leverages the auxiliary reconstruction task during in-situ monitoring, subsequently applying self-supervised fine-tuning to classification tasks with a new imbalanced-aware classification loss. Our methodology was rigorously evaluated using a real-world dataset for 3D printing defect detection. The experimental outcomes affirm the robustness of our approach, showcasing a higher defect detection accuracy rate than baselines. This substantially mitigates the adverse effects associated with printing defects, thereby increasing the reliability and quality of 3D printing processes.

Diffusion Magnetic Resonance Imaging (dMRI) plays a crucial role in the noninvasive investigation of tissue microstructural properties and structural connectivity in the in vivo human brain. However, to effectively capture the intricate characteristics of water diffusion at various directions and scales, it is important to employ comprehensive q-space sampling. Unfortunately, this requirement leads to long scan times, limiting the clinical applicability of dMRI. To address this challenge, we propose SSOR, a Simultaneous q-Space sampling Optimization and Reconstruction framework. We jointly optimize a subset of q-space samples using a continuous representation of spherical harmonic functions and a reconstruction network. Additionally, we integrate the unique properties of diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) in both the q-space and image domains by applying l1-norm and total-variation *** experiments conducted on HCP data demonstrate that SSOR has promising strengths both quantitatively and qualitatively and exhibits robustness to noise.
