In most batch processes, quality control measurements cannot be completed before the next batch operation. Thus, the corrective step is often delayed by one batch or more. The uncertain duration of delay with stochastic characteristics can be treated as a random variable of unknown distribution. Coupled with inaccurate process models, the delay may lead to significant process output variations even with EWMA controllers. This paper proposes a new method of handling the uncertain metrology delay and its ensuing complications. The run-to-run controller is designed based on minimization of error entropy, and the probability density function of the tracking error can be estimated by the historical operation data. The simulation example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, a minimum entropy filter is presented for estimating states in networked control systems with multiple-packet transmission mechanism and non-Gaussian time-delay and noises. The filter is designed for nonlinear NCSs via information theoretic learning approach based on stochastic gradient algorithm. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

This study suggests a moving horizon H8 control scheme for variable speed wind turbines above the rated wind speed to maintain the output power at the rated value for variable operating points. A constrainedH8 control problem is solved at each sampling time with the update of not only the initial condition but also the prediction model based on different operating points. Closed-loop properties inclusive of L2 disturbance attenuation are discussed in the framework of dissipation theory. The moving horizon H8 control considers the non-linear dynamic aspect of the wind turbine, the turbulent nature of the wind and actuator saturations. Analysis and simulation results for WD34 wind turbine show possible improvements on the output electrical power regulation performance for variable operating points, while respecting actuator saturation limits. © The Institution of Engineering and technology 2014.

Aim at the hysteretic nonlinearity characteristic of the giant magnetostrictive actuator in control, an internal model control method based on support vector regression is presented in this paper. Its models are built by support vector regression using the input and output data of the actuator and the internal model control is achieved. The simulation results show the method in this paper has better control precision.

With the progress of DNA computing, DNA-based cryptography becomes an emerging interdisciplinary research field. In this paper, we present a novel DNA cryptography that takes advantage of DNA self-assembled structure. Making use of the toehold strands recognition and strand displacement, the bit-wise exclusive-or (XOR) operation is carried out to fulfill the information encryption and decryption in the form of a one-time-pad. The security of this system mainly comes from the physical isolation and specificity of DNA molecules. The system is constructed by using complex DNA self-assembly, in which technique of fluorescent detection is utilized to implement the signal processing. In the proposed DNA cryptography, the XOR operation at each bit is carried out individually, thus the encryption and decryption process could be conducted in a massive, parallel way. This work may demonstrate that DNA cryptography has the great potential applications in the field of information security.

In this paper, genetic algorithm and modified dynamic programming are applied to path planning of robotic fish for the first time. Using grid method to the environment modeling and applying genetic algorithm to the path planning, an optimal or sub-optimal robot path can be obtained. Since the robotic fish can't track linear motion, the robot path can be seen as several circular arc. Based on the optimal path obtained via genetic algorithm, modified dynamic programming algorithm is proposed to calculate the shortest circular arc path, fish velocity and direction in every step. Finally the experiment on the robotic fish control software shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A neural based PID feedback control method for networked process control systems is presented. As there are some uncertain factors such as external disturbance, randomly delayed measurements or control demands in real networked process control systems, the proposed PID controller is implemented by backpropagation neural networks whose weights are updated via minimizing tracking error entropy of closed loop systems. To demonstrate the potential applications of the proposed strategy, an example of a simulated batch reactor is provided. The proposed design method is shown to be useful and effective in dealing with network process control systems.

This paper researches the consensus problem of high-order multi-agent systems. A new dynamic neighbor-based protocol is proposed which contains two parts, one is the local feedback and the other is the distributed feedback of the first states of each agent. The research method of identification of the electronic equipment's power-on characteristics based on the data of bus voltage ripple is introduced. The main purpose is to achieve the recognition of the equipment's power-on characteristics through a certain algorithm design, and provide reference for the follow-up intelligent applications of the bus-ripple-tester. Two methods are used here. One is frequency spectrum analysis based on the collected signals. Due to the differences of spectrum distribution between these equipment's signals collected before and after their power-on time, the frequency band of each equipment's characteristic distribution is different, which make it possible to achieve the purpose of identification. The other is the time-frequency analysis based on wavelet transform. According to the difference of wavelet energy of the equipment's signals collected before and after their power-on time, the equipment can be recognized.

The coal mill is the key equipment of powdering system in coal-fired power plants,whose working state has an important influence on the combustion stability of boiler as well as the operation ***,owing to the lack of real fault data,it is difficult and not available enough to support and achieve the research of data-driven fault diagnosis ***-type medium-speed coal mill was selected as the research object in this ***,the existing mechanism model had been further improved to make it more effective and reasonable,and we used it to respectively simulate the typical operating data of the normal condition and three fault *** paper transformed the problem of fault diagnosis into the measurement of similarity between the testing and the typical fault samples,taking the numerical distance and changing trends into account,and adopted the concept of similarity function and transformed the results into the expression and calculation of probability level,which was calculated as the diagnostic evidence of individual parameters under the same time scale.D-S evidence theory was employed to fuse the individual evidence between multiple parameters evidence,getting the fusion of multiparametric evidence as to the final diagnosis ***,the experiments verified the high accuracy of the proposed diagnostic method,and the similarity function has high rationality and feasibility.
