A compact dual-polarized differentially-fed antenna with high gain is proposed for 5G microcells. The antenna mainly consists of two parts: a radiating element with metasurface and a differentially-fed network. The metasurface with four square cells is etched on the top layer, while the radiating octagonal patch etched with four fan-shaped slots is placed on the second layer. The profile of the antenna is 0.125 λ0 (where λ0 is the starting wavelength). Simulation results show that the overlapped bandwidths are 3.30-3.61 GHz and 4.72-5.07 GHz, and their corresponding gains vary from 8.30 to 9.65 dBi. © 2020 IEEE.

We propose a dual-polarized conformal Zhe-shaped patch antenna that is suitable for future millimeter wave (mmW) applications. The proposed antenna is composed of 3 different layers. High spatial correlation is one of the main factors limiting the communication performance of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) visible light communication (VLC), which can be alleviate by precoding. However, most existing precoding algorithms require a dedicated baseband chain for each light emitting diode (LED), which may result in high energy consumption and hardware complexity, especially when LEDs are densely deployed. To solve this issue, a successive interference cancellation-based precoding scheme with sub-connected architecture (SIC-SA) is proposed, where each baseband chain is connected to an LED sub-array. In this case, since the SIC-based precoding can only determine the signal of each baseband chain for an LED sub-array, the electrical/optical power of each LED must be jointly optimized to alleviate the spatial correlation among individual LEDs. This joint SIC-based precoding, power allocation and direct current offset design problem is formulated as an achievable sum rate maximization problem under dimming control and electrical power constraints. To solve this problem, the original problem is separated into two subproblems. In the first subproblem, the SIC-based precoding is calculated by successive null space computation. With the obtained SIC-based precoding, the second subproblem optimizes the power allocation and direct-current offset. Finally, these two subproblems are iteratively solved to obtain a convergent solution. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed SIC-SA achieves 0.1306 bps/Hz/W and 0.1340 bps/Hz/W improvements in terms of energy efficiency compared to minimum mean square error precoding with fully-connected architecture (FA) and zero-forcing precoding with FA, respectively, when the signal-to-noise ratio is 30 dB.

In this paper, a 30° gain suppression vertical-polarized (VP) antenna with a 2×3 MIMO system is proposed for the 5G indoor applications. In order to suppress radiation when θ=30° and increase gain on horizontal plane, three 45° single-polarized antenna elements are assembled to provide an omnidirectional radiation pattern. A magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna element is excited by a single Γ-shaped strip. Owning to the good characteristics of the antenna element, wide bandwidth and high gain have been obtained. The antenna element can provide an impedance bandwidth of 90.4% (2.0-5.3 GHz), with a stable gain of 6.0±2.2 dBi. When θ=30°, the gain is -2.0±4.0 dBi. The entire volume of the antenna is 52×52×70 mm3. With the aforementioned traits, the antenna is well suitable for sub-6 GHz applications. ©2021 IEEE

This paper presents a miniaturized log-periodic dipole antenna using Koch fractals. The proposed antenna in this paper allows the lateral area of the antenna to be reduced by Koch fractalization of the dipole. Simulation is carried out by HFSS 20.0 software, and results show that the antenna works in a frequency band ranging from 0.7 to 3.7 GHz. Across the entire frequency band, good impedance matching, high gain and good front-to-back ratio (FBR) can be achieved. ©2021 IEEE

With the development of the 5G mobile communication system, the network infrastructure is becoming more widely deployed. Ubiquitous 5G wireless signals bring new opportunities to the positioning of connected autonomous vehicles. Radio-based positioning can utilize the existing 5G network infrastructure to locate connected vehicles without additional sensor equipment installed in the vehicle. Moreover, location-related information of vehicles can be obtained from V2V communication supported by 3GPP, which provides a new way to increase positioning accuracy. In this paper, we develop a V2V communication assisted cooperative localization algorithm that exploits the location-related information in V2V communication and the multipath radio signals received by vehicles to further improve localization accuracy. A Bayesian model is derived for feature-based simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) according to the information exchanged between vehicles and the characteristics of the multipath components, and a cooperative belief propagation algorithm is used to locate vehicles on a factor graph. Simulation results show that this algorithm has better positioning performance than non-V2V-cooperative scenarios.

In emerging communication systems, such as 5G 6G, millimeter wave and terahertz communication, OFDM and MIMO are indispensable technologies. However, the cross-modulation among different subchannel would greatly degrade the performance of system due to the non-linearity of the large-scale amplifier array. Hybrid precoding technology is a general candidate for this problem due to its capability for linearization, and the predistortion matrix would be the key factor for its performance. In this paper, a memory polynomial model is adopted for modelling nonlinear power amplifier (PA) and Recursive Least Square based digital predistortion (RLS-DPD) algorithm is proposed for parameter training for hybrid predistortion module. The proposed RLS algorithm extracts the parameters of the digital predistortion module through adaptive learning in the training phase. Adaptive learning refers to the process of using the filter parameters obtained at the previous moment to automatically adjust the parameters at the current moment according to the estimated error, which minimizes the cost function. The simulation results show that the RLS-DPD algorithm can reduce the system bit error rate by 27.778%, error vector magnitude (EVM) by 67.961 % at 8dB SNR, and enable the nonlinear OFDM signal to be demodulated correctly at the terminal. © 2020 IEEE.

The public crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic has disastrous effects for B2B markets. With the supply chain and trade disrupted, the benefits of the company have been affected to varying degrees. In order to help companies find potential customers and recover the supply chain, we propose a multi-stage cascade downstream company recommender system based on taxation data. The proposed system can recommend potential buyers for upstream companies, which can help upstream companies find new sales channels. This system includes data processing, matching module, ranking module and system deployment. In the match module, we propose a hybrid recall algorithm to generate the candidate enterprises. In the ranking module, we use DCNV2 model to rank the candidate companies. Moreover, the multistage cascade recommendation algorithm achieves better results compared with the traditional algorithm in B2B recommender system.

Vehicle localization via cooperative channel mapping

This paper addresses vehicle positioning, a topic whose importance has risen dramatically in the context of future autonomous driving systems. While classical methods that use GPS and/or beacon signals from network infrastructure for triangulation tend to be sensitive to multi-paths and signal obstruction, our method exhibits robustness with respect to such phenomena. Our approach builds on the recently proposed Channel-SLAM method which first enabled leveraging of multipath so as to improve (single) vehicle positioning. Here, we propose a cooperative mapping approach which builds upon the Channel-SLAM concept, referred to here as Team Channel-SLAM. Team Channel-SLAM not only exploits the stationary nature of many reflecting objects around the vehicle, but also capitalizes on the multi-vehicle nature of road traffic. The key intuition behind our method is the exploitation for the first time of the correlation between reflectors around multiple neighboring vehicles. An algorithm is derived for reflector selection and estimation, combined with a team particle filter (TPF) so as to achieve high precision simultaneous multiple vehicle positioning. We obtain large improvement over the single-vehicle positioning scenario, with gains being already noticeable for moderate vehicle densities, such as over 40% improvement for a vehicle density as low as 4 vehicles in 132 meters’ length road.
