A Fast Multi-Pattern Matching Algorithm for Mining Big network Data

The rapid development of mobile network brings opportunities for researchers to analyze user behaviors based on largescale network traffic data. It is important for Internet Service Providers(ISP) to optimize resource allocation and provide customized services to users. The first step of analyzing user behaviors is to extract information of user actions from HTTP traffic data by multi-pattern URL matching. However, the efficiency is a huge problem when performing this work on massive network traffic data. To solve this problem, we propose a novel and accurate algorithm named Multi-Pattern Parallel Matching(MPPM) that takes advantage of HashMap in data searching for extracting user behaviors from big network data more effectively. Extensive experiments based on real-world traffic data prove the ability of MPPM algorithm to deal with massive HTTP traffic with better performance on accuracy, concurrency and efficiency. We expect the proposed algorithm and it parallelized implementation would be a solid base to build a high-performance analysis engine of user behavior based on massive HTTP traffic data processing.

Task-oriented semantic communication has gained increasing attention due to its ability to reduce the amount of transmitted data without sacrificing task performance. Although some prior efforts have been dedicated to developing semantic communications, the semantics in these works remains to be unexplainable. Challenges related to explainable semantic representation and knowledge-based semantic compression have yet to be explored. In this paper, we propose a triplet-based explainable semantic communication (TESC) scheme for representing text semantics efficiently. Specifically, we develop a semantic extraction method to convert text into triplets while using syntactic dependency analysis to enhance semantic completeness. Then, we design a semantic filtering method to further compress the duplicate and task-irrelevant triplets based on prior knowledge. The filtered triplets are encoded and transmitted to the receiver for completing intelligent tasks. Furthermore, we apply the propsed TESC scheme to two emblematic text tasks: sentiment analysis and question answering, in which the semantic codec is meticulously customized for each task. Experimental results demonstrate that 1) TESC scheme outperforms benchmarks in terms of Top-1 accuracy and transmission efficiency, and 2) TESC scheme enjoys about 150% performance gain compared to the traditional communication method. Virtual concerts have become an emerging form of music performance, and it casts a perspective on the development and exploration of real-time interactive virtual spaces as well as the creation of digital twins. This paper introduces a customizable interactive immersive concert hall system, which can meet the diverse needs of different roles such as audiences, musicians, conductors and audio engineers. It supports switching between different concert hall scenes, changing the placement of orchestra, adjusting instrument volume, and listening to selected instrument ensembles while performing in the concert hall. The system also supports real-time switching between different music pickup types and microphone frequency responses. The system simulates the architectural acoustic environment of outstanding concert halls around the world, and is enabled with real-time auralization. © ICA *** rights reserved

3D hand tracking has a wide application prospect, for instance, in the field of human-computer interaction. Existing generative methods based on model fitting typically obtain good accuracy, but are far less robust to rapid hand motions and gestures with self-occlusions. We thus present a multimodal hand tracking system aiming to boost both accuracy and robustness. An efficient initialization strategy based on image data and inertial sensor data is designed to improve the robustness. A new optimization algorithm is proposed to improve the accuracy further by introducing gradient descent into APSO (Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization). In addition, we construct a cylinder-cuboid hand model and establish a corresponding cost function. The proposed hand tracking method is evaluated on MSRA14 Dataset and achieves the state-of-the-art result. © 2020 IEEE.

Estimating 3D human poses from a single RGB image is a challenging task in computer vision due to depth ambiguity and lack of unconstrained 3D datasets. Poor exploiting of image cues will lead to inaccurate pose predictions. Previous works try to constrain illegal spatial relations and exploit 2D annotations of in-the-wild images as weak labels. In this paper, we propose to use multi-scale recalibration with stronger geometry constraints to regress 3D pose. The overall network is end-to-end which consists of a 2D pose estimation sub-network and a depth regression subnetwork. Firstly, by adding the residual multi-scale recalibration module to the depth regression sub-network, our approach works better on exploiting the structural information of human poses. Secondly, the advanced geometry constraints are introduced to restrict the human pose from the bone length and joint angle orientation, which shows a better result. Experimental results on the Human3.6m and in-the-wild MPII datasets show the effectiveness and robustness of our method. © 2020 IEEE.

In multi-cell multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MC MU-MIMO) visible light communication (VLC) systems, each user is equipped with multiple closely-placed photodiodes (PDs) with similar channel gains, leading to severe inter-cell interference and intra-cell interference. To address this problem, this paper proposes a hybrid dimming (HD) scheme with MIMO VLC transceiver design, which jointly optimizes transmit and receive antenna selection (TRAS), cell clustering and precoding (TRASP-HD) for MC MU-MIMO VLC systems. In this scheme, a sum-rate maximization problem under the dimming level and illumination uniformity is formulated and solved by being divided into two sub-problems. In particular, The first sub-problem is on TRAS and cell formation based on the criterion of sum-rate maximization under the illumination uniformity constraint. With the same goal, the second sub-problem is on optimizing the precoding matrices of each cell. Finally, these two sub-problems are iteratively solved to obtain a convergent solution. Simulation results verify that in a typical indoor scenario, the mean bandwidth efficiency of TRASP-HD scheme is 2.36 bit/s/Hz higher than the conventional MC MU-MIMO system.

A 3D-printed sub-terahertz lens for manipulating quasi-non-diffractive orbital angular momentum (OAM) waves is proposed in this paper. The proposed lens comprises all-dielectric elements that impose desired phase profiles on the incident waves by varying their height. Based on the concept of the Bessel beam launchers and the beam deflectors, quasi-non-diffractive OAM waves with a pre-defined deflection angle can be produced by the proposed lens. For verification, two lenses were 3D printed for producing OAM waves with a non-diffractive depth of 55.58λ c (λ c is the free-space wavelength at 140 GHz). Measured by a terahertz imaging camera, the desired quasi-non-diffractive OAM waves were observed behind the proposed lenses with expected non-diffractive performance and a large deflection angle of up to 47°.

Recent years, under the cooperation of 5G techniques which enables high rate and low delay communication, cellular-connected unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have attracted tremendous attentions due to its broad applications. In this paper, we focus on a mobile edge computing (MEC) enabled cellular-connected UAV system, where a UAV carrying a fixed amount of computation tasks is deployed to fly from an initial location to a final location and served by ground base stations (GBSs) in the presence of a ground eavesdropper. During the flight, the UAV can offload part of the tasks to GBSs for remote execution. We aim to minimize the total energy consumption of UAV to complete the task, including computation energy, communication energy and flight-propulsion energy, by jointly optimizing UAV trajectory, computation task allocation, UAV-GBS association and transmit power allocation. To tackle the non-convexity of the original problem, we resort to the block coordinate decent and successive convex approximation techniques through decomposing it into three sub-problems, which are alternately solved until the algorithm converges. Numerical results show that the proposed design effectively saves UAV's energy consumption for completing the given tasks.

In this paper, the problem of audio based semantic communication is investigated over wireless networks. In the considered model, wireless edge devices must transmit large-sized audio data to a server using semantic communication techniques. The techniques enable the transmission of audio semantic information which captures the contextual features of audio signals. To extract the semantic information from audio signals, a wave to vector (wav2vec) architecture based autoencoder that consists of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) is proposed. The proposed autoencoder enables high-accuracy audio transmission with small amounts of data. To further improve the accuracy of semantic information extraction, federated learning (FL) is implemented over multiple devices and a server. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can converge effectively and can reduce the mean square error (MSE) between the recovered audio signals and the source audio signals by nearly 100 times, compared to a traditional coding scheme.

The growing demand for location-based services in areas like virtual reality, robot control, and navigation has intensified the focus on indoor localization. Visible light positioning (VLP), leveraging visible light communications (VLC), becomes a promising indoor positioning technology due to its high accuracy and low cost. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of VLP systems. In particular, since VLC lays the foundation for VLP, we first present a detailed overview of the principles of VLC. Then, we provide an in-depth overview of VLP algorithms. The performance of each positioning algorithm is also compared in terms of various metrics such as accuracy, coverage, and orientation limitation. Beyond the physical layer studies, the network design for a VLP system is also investigated, including multi-access technologies, resource allocation, and light-emitting diode (LED) placements. Next, the applications of the VLP systems are overviewed. Finally, this paper outlines open issues, challenges, and opportunities for the research field. In a nutshell, this paper constitutes the first holistic survey on VLP from state-of-the-art studies to practical uses. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
