In this paper, the optimal feedback bits allocation scheme between horizontal channel quantization and vertical channel quantization is proposed in three-dimensional (3D) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with limited feedback. The proposed scheme aims to allocate more bits to quantize the channel dimension with stronger gains. The feedback bits allocation is studied by comparing the gains of horizontal channel and vertical channel. The optimization model is built in the form of minimizing the differences between limited feedback and ideal feedback under the condition of fixed bits. The optimum result of feedback bits allocation is obtained by strict derivations. The system level simulation results show that the 3D MIMO systems with optimal bit allocation can achieve higher spectral efficiency than equal bit allocation, the accuracy of which is then verified by the theoretical analysis.

In this paper, we propose a novel “Opinion Free” (OF) No-Reference Video Quality Assessment (NR-VQA) algorithm based on frame-level unsupervised feature learning and hysteresis temporal pooling. The system consists of three components: feature extraction with max-min pooling, frame quality prediction and temporal pooling. Frame level features are first extracted by unsupervised feature learning and used to train a linear Support Vector Regressor (SVR) for predicting quality scores frame by frame. Frame-level quality scores are then combined by temporal pooling to obtain a single video quality score. We tested the proposed method on the LIVE video quality database and experimental results show that without training on human opinion scores the proposed method is comparable to state-of-the-art NR-VQA algorithms.

Echo state network (ESN) has become one of the most popular recurrent neural networks (RNN) for its good prediction performance of non-linear time series and simple training process. But several problems still prevent ESN from becoming a widely used tool. The most prominent problem is its high complexity with lots of random parameters. Aiming at this problem, a minimum complexity ESN model (MCESN) was proposed. In this paper, we proposed a new wavelet minimum complexity ESN model (WMCESN) to improve the prediction accuracy and increase the practical applicability. Our new model inherits the characters of minimum complexity ESN model using the fixed parameters and simple circle topology. We injected wavelet neurons to replace the original neurons in internal reservoir and designed a wavelet parameter matrix to reduce the computing time. By using different datasets, our new model performed better than the minimum complexity ESN model with normal neurons, but only utilized tiny time cost. We also used our own packets of transmission control protocol (TCP) and user datagram protocol (UDP) dataset to prove that our model can deal with the data packet bit prediction problem well.

Offiine network traffic analysis is very important for an in-depth study upon the understanding of network conditions and characteristics, such as user behavior and abnormal traffic. With the rapid growth of the amount of information on the Intemet, the traditional stand-alone analysis tools face great challenges in storage capacity and computing efficiency, but which is the advantages for Hadoop cluster. In this paper, we designed an offiine traffic analysis system based on Hadoop (OTASH), and proposed a MapReduce-based algorithm for TopN user statistics. In addition, we studied the computing performance and failure tolerance in OTASH. From the experiments we drew the conclusion that OTASH is suitable for handling large amounts of flow data, and are competent to calculate in the case of single node failure.

Joint relay selection and spectrum allocation scheme with multiple source-destination pairs and multiple potential relays in cooperative relay networks is proposed in this paper. In cooperative relay networks, the selected relay nodes and spectrum resource allocated to each source-destination pair have great impact on the system performance. It is an optimization problem for which relay nodes are selected and which spectrum resources are assigned. The exhaustive search can solve this problem but the complexity will increase factorially with the network size (i.e., the number of source-destination pairs and the number of relays in the network) and exponentially with the number of available spectrum resources. This paper proposes a novel quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) based relay selection and spectrum allocation scheme which can maximize three definitions of system throughput but has less computational complexity. Simulation results show that QPSO based scheme has the ability to find global optimal solution compared with other schemes in the literature.

Wireless Sensor network (WSN) is a low cost and multifunctional emerging technology. Its application ranges from military, health sector, environmental monitoring and industrial application. The maximum benefit of recent technology development can be achieved by integration internet (Cloud Computing) and secured real time data collection platform (secured-WSNs). In order to ensure its functionality especially in malicious environments, security mechanisms are essential in WSNs. Malicious or internal attacker has gained prominence and poses the most challenging attacks to WSN. So, for complete security internal attacks need to be handled. In this paper we proposed content-based publish/subscribe (pub/sub) broker model on the Cloud that integrates WSNs to Cloud efficiently and effectively. To secure WSNs we have proposed a new approach for detecting internal attack by using Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC). It is an efficient real time algorithm. It is good for sensor network as it operates with no or incomplete classification information. Our result shows the output of the internal attacker evaluation.

User association is one of the key techniques of the resource management in the heterogeneous cellular networks (HetNets). Interference management plays an important role on the system performance improvement in interference limited cellular networks. In this paper, we address the user association problem from the view of interference management of HetNets. Especially, we consider the co-channel interference from both intra-tier and inter-tier, and propose an interference matrix based user association scheme. We use interference matrix to obtain the leakage plus noise ratio (SLNR) of each users in the HetNets. In the proposed scheme, the optimization problem of user association is modeled jointly taking the SLNR of users and traffic load of base stations into consideration, which gives a tradeoff between interference mitigation and load balancing. A simple but useful heuristic algorithm is given to obtain a suboptimal solution of the user association problem. We give the simulation results of the proposed scheme on the system throughput and user fairness, which can effectively achieve the tradeoff between interference mitigation and load balancing.
