Traditional Viterbi decoding algorithm degrades performance under correlated noise. Inspired by the powerful learning from data of deep neural networks, we apply denoising convolutional neural network (DnCNN) to channel decoding under correlated noise. In this paper, we propose a DnCNN hard decision Viterbi decoder (short for DHDV decoder) architecture to enhance the performance of convolutional codes under correlated noise. The architecture applies DnCNN to denoise and improves the decoding SNR (signal to noise ratio) through the correlation of noise correlation. Then, the Viterbi Algorithm decoder decodes from the denoised data. DHDV decoder obtains greater BER performance improvement under stronger noise correlation, and it is robust under different convolutional codes and correlated noise models. Comparing the complexity of DnCNN network and matrix multiplication whitening method, DnCNN network complexity is lower when the code length is longer. © 2019 by SCITEPRESS - Science and Technology Publications, Lda.

Blockchain technology is adopted by many research to provide underlying security protection for the booming Inter-net of Things (IoT) industry. Nonetheless, due to some aspects of IoT, such as resource-constrained devices, heterogeneous mass devices, and real-time transactions, the traditional blockchain consensus algorithm is not suitable for the scene of blockchain-IoT integration. This paper proposes a Dual Vote Confirmation based Consensus (DVCC) mechanism for the Blockchain-IoT integration (BlockIoT). First, we adopt a role division approach to solve the problem of limited resources of devices in IoT. Second, multi-dimensional credit score, dual confirmation mechanism, classified random selection mechanism, and credit score based incentivization are designed to improve the security and fairness of the consensus. Third, a voting mechanism is proposed to improve the delay performance and avoid energy waste. Finally, the experimental results show that DVCC gains better delay and throughput performance on a large scale while guaranteeing the security and fairness of the consensus.

DOCSIS 3.1, the new international standard for high-speed cable television (CATV), uses Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code for forward error correction (FEC). It is widely known that accurate soft information is critical to the performance of LDPC decoding, but existing bit log-likelihood ratio (LLR) expression only works well under high code rate. In this paper, an improved bit LLR expression is proposed to compensate the difference between the existing LLR expression under low code rate for Gray coded M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM). In addition to high accuracy, the improved LLR is simple and efficient to manipulate. Besides LDPC, the improved LLR is also applicable to other codes that require soft information. Simulation results show that the improved LLR expression achieves a significant improvement in performance for both LDPC and Turbo decoding.

Metamaterials exhibit more and more novel electromagnetic properties. Common ones are zero refractive index materials and negative refractive index materials. Therefore, metamaterials are widely used in antennas and antenna arrays designed today. In this paper, a metasurface embedded with lumped resistance is designed for broad band microwave absorption. The proposed metasurface is a periodic structure whose unit is consisted of four patches who are separated by a cross patch at center and surrounded by L shape patches at corner. The dimension of the proposed absorption structure is 16.5mm. The simulations show that the proposed absorption structure has a wide absorption band of 5.7 - 12.3 GHz with 90% absorptivity. Due to the symmetry, the proposed metasurface show great tolerance on oblique incident angle, simulations show that it can keep a wide band absorption above 90% with oblique incident angle to 60°.

In this paper, we consider an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based mobile edge computing (MEC) system for Internet of Things devices (IoTDs), in which the mobile UAV equipped with computing resources provides service for all IoTDs in the system and each IoTD also has a certain amount of computing power. Each IoTD has a computing task to be completed and the computing task will be offloaded to the UAV or implemented locally. After the UAV completes the service for any IoTD, it proceeds to the next IoTD, until that all IoTDs in the system have been served. The UAV can collect all information related to all IoTDs before taking off, such as the data size of the computing task and the coordinate of the locations of all IoTDs. Our goal is to minimize the total delay of the system (i.e., flying delay, transmission delay, local computing delay and UAV-aided edge computing delay) through joint optimization of the flying trajectory of the UAV and the ratio of the offloading tasks. Aiming at this problem, a machine learning framework based on Q-learning algorithm is proposed so as to minimize the total delay of the system. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve up to 15.7% and 38.0% gain compared to the random algorithm with dynamic selection of task offloading mode and the Q-learning algorithm with fixed selection of task offloading mode.

Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging is a commonly used method to assess the function and structure of the cardiovascular system. Separating the heart structure from Cardiac MRI is an important step in calculating the cardiac function index. The automatic segmentation algorithm can significantly reduce the workload of the doctor. Most of the current automatic segmentation algorithm has a large calculation amount and size, has high requirements on the hardware. Based on the U-Net model, this paper proposes a lightweight full convolution model with separable convolution and residual connection. Experiments show that the model reduces the number of parameters while ensuring learning ability and balances speed and accuracy.

A circularly polarized (CP) antenna based on metasurface with simple structure is proposed for 5G millimeter-wave (mmw) applications. This antenna mainly consists of three layers. Square patches with periodic rhombus grooves are placed on the top of the first layer. A pair of substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) feeding networks are orthogonally arranged in the second layer and third layer, respectively. Simulated experiments demonstrate that an overlapped frequency bandwidth of 5.4% (27.1-28.6 GHz) as well as a 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 7.9% (26.8-29 GHz) can be achieved in dual circularly polarized directions. © 2020 IEEE.

The energy supply of sensor nodes is limited, and the sensor nodes near the sink node usually die out earlier than other nodes which causes the imbalance of energy consumption in wireless sensor network (WSN). In order to extend the network lifetime and balance the energy consumption, we present a new clustering algorithm called Energy-balanced Clustering Algorithm (EBCA) based on software-defined wireless sensor network (SDWSN). In our algorithm, the controller redefines the communication radius of each sensor node based on distance from sink node and the number of neighbor nodes, and gives a new clustering method based on the residual energy of itself and its neighbor node. The simulation results show that our algorithm has better performance on balancing energy consumption and extending network lifetime compared with the typical data transmission algorithm. © 2019 IEEE.

Demand response (DR) is an effective measure to alleviate power demand when power supply shortage or electricity price is too *** customer baseline load (CBL) is the basis to measure load reduction and the amount of compensation to participants,which is of great importance to customers who participate in demand. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the existing research, this paper summarizes the shortcomings of the existing methods, and proposes a CBL prediction method based on confidence value region (CVR). First,the confidence value region is defined,and a similarity clustering method of time series photovoltaic customers based on the overall trend is proposed to exclude the influence of outliers on the classification ***,the prediction method for CBL based on the weight combination of the optimal group members is *** this method, the unpredicted DR customers in the control group are weighted together according to the similarity degree, so as to reduce the prediction time complexity of the model and reduce the adverse impact of abnormal power on the prediction results. Finally, an evaluation index is designed to be more suitable for practical application. Simulation results show that the proposed method has the highest accuracy and better comprehensive performance compared with existing methods. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Analog beamforming technology can improve the spectral efficiency in large-scale MIMO systems and compensate the high path loss of millimeter wave (mmWave). In vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) scenario, vehicles are at a high speed and their positions are changing rapidly, which makes beam tracking full of challenges. Additionally, the Doppler shift will deteriorate the transmission quality. To address those challenges, we have developed a location-based beam tracking to reduce the time complexity in V2I, where communication is mainly through line of sight (LOS) component. Our proposed algorithm can provide a dynamic beam tracking by predicting the next location based on UE's current location and velocity. Furthermore, a Doppler-aware vehicle scheduling algorithm is also developed to increase the sum rate with the constraint of tolerable delay. Finally, the results of simulation demonstrate that high accuracy of beam direction can be achieved with few search times, and the sum rate is improved by adopting the Doppler-aware vehicle scheduling algorithm. © 2019 IEEE.
