A uniform experimental design(UED)is an extremely used powerful and efficient methodology for designing experiments with high-dimensional inputs,limited resources and unknown underlying models.A UED enjoys the following two significant advantages:(i)It is a robust design,since it does not require to specify a model before experimenters conduct their experiments;and(ii)it provides uniformly scatter design points in the experimental domain,thus it gives a good representation of this domain with fewer experimental trials(runs).Many real-life experiments involve hundreds or thousands of active factors and thus large UEDs are *** large UEDs using the existing techniques is an NP-hard problem,an extremely time-consuming heuristic search process and a satisfactory result is not *** paper presents a new effective and easy technique,adjusted Gray map technique(AGMT),for constructing(nearly)UEDs with large numbers of four-level factors and runs by converting designs with s two-level factors and n runs to(nearly)UEDs with 2^(t−1)s four-level factors and 2tn runs for any t≥0 using two simple transformation *** justifications for the uniformity of the resulting four-level designs are given,which provide some necessary and/or sufficient conditions for obtaining(nearly)uniform four-level *** results show that the AGMT is much easier and better than the existing widely used techniques and it can be effectively used to simply generate new recommended large(nearly)UEDs with four-level factors.

Following and moving according to human motion is an important task for mobile robots. To ensure more compliant motion planning and execution of mobile robots, they can not be controlled by real-time visual information. In the tracking process, robots need to recognize and track the target then, plan the motion and execute the motion. In practical applications, the environments are very complex, such as illumination, shadows and occlusion, which the traditional visual tracking algorithms often deviate or lose the target. Therefore, to achieve fast human motion tracking, it is necessary to predict human motions by video prediction. In this paper, we propose a human motion tracking algorithm of mobile robot based on video prediciton. (1) The multi-layer generation adversarial loop network, which trained by off-line video dataset and learn how to predict human motion. (2) We used the pre-trained model to predict the state of the tracking target in the video. (3) This video prediction model was integrated into human-to-robot tracking algorithms of mobile robot following human system. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm can track human motion at a certain speed and precision. © 2019 IEEE.

Rapidly growing urbanization is putting more pressure on the well-being of citizens and the environment. Applying the latest ICT technology to address urban transport challenges is a key strategy to release the new innovation powerhouse of urbanization. This paper introduces a framework of future Innovative Urban Transport (IUT), to support next generation urban transport, based on IoT, 4G, Big Data, cloud computing and other novel ICT technologies. We present the construction of the framework, its reference architecture, and contribution to the environmental and socially important impacts. IUT aims to advance the existing smart city transport, to foster urban innovations that maximize the well-being of citizens while minimizing the negative effects like traffic congestion, air pollution high resource congestion, and traffic accidents. © 2016 IEEE.

To further enhance emergency management skills of an organisation's emergency response personnel, emergency response training,especially 3D emergency drill, is currently becoming more and more important in the petrochemical sector. So, a novel 3D emergency drills system is designed and developed based on ACP approach, which can be used for mocking emergency response plan drills and evaluating the plan. A case study reveals that the performance of the system is good and the system can meet the needs of emergency response training and optimizing emergency response plan in petrochemical plants. © 2012 IEEE.

Motion estimation is always regarded as the most time consuming module in video coding, and many fast motion estimation algorithms have been proposed to speed-up it. However one fact that motion regions need more complex search whereas still regions does not instead is often ignored. On the other hand, the analysis of the distribution of motion vector difference shows that the predicted motion vector is very near to real motion vector. Herein, in this improved motion estimation algorithm, motion region is first identified using improved visual rhythm analysis and then one efficient search scheme, named search center adaptive motion estimation, is carried out according the MB motion. In the simulations, the algorithm is verified on platform JM7.3. The results show that the search scheme can great speed-up the motion estimation of still MBs, and it can eliminate about 25% integer pixel search process of motion MBs as well. The encoding performance loss is negligible for low motion video and trifling for video sequences with complex motion.

With the surge in the number of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites, continuous research has emerged on using satellite data to train artificial intelligence models. On one hand, traditional centralized training on the ground is not feasible due to privacy concerns and limited bandwidth for downloading raw satellite data. On the other hand, due to the limited energy and computational capability of satellites, training directly on satellites suffers from prolonged latency, especially for large models. To alleviate these issues, we propose a novel satellite-ground collaborative federated fine-tuning architecture, where ground stations (GSs) and satellites collaboratively train a global model without the need for data downloads. In this proposed architecture, satellites serve as edge devices and the ground server serves as a coordinator. However, the short satellite-ground communication windows caused by the high mobility of satellites and the substantial intra-orbit data transmission bring special challenges to the transmission process of federated edge learning. To tackle these challenges, we carefully design the satellite-ground collaborative fine-tuning architecture and utilize an optimized ring all-reduce algorithm and network flow algorithm to enhance the intra-orbit and ground-satellite transmissions, respectively. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed architecture significantly reduces the training time by 40% compared to training solely on satellite. © 2024 IEEE.

Emerging as an important potential approach to the operation of lossy communication networks, Network Coding (NC) has been proposed to combine with TCP called TCP-NC by MIT. However, the key parameter R that is brought in for sending redundant packets against random loss is preseted and stays constant, therefore, chances are that it may fail to work. In this paper, we proposed a dynamic redundancy algorithm to control the number of sending packets. The algorithm is executed at the time of every arrival of feedback and makes redundancy approximate the loss rate as much as possible. All of these is done by the sender who is completely unconscious of the network situation. Simulation results under hybrid networks show that our new protocol retains all the advantages of TCP-NC over TCP-Reno and TCP-Westwood in terms of channel utilization and overall throughput, and simultaneously outperforms TCP-NC in time-varying light-load hybrid networks.

The imbalanced food dataset is one of the various imbalanced datasets that are commonly found in the real world. For imbalanced datasets, we usually want algorithms to identify minority class samples in the imbalanced datasets, but traditional classification algorithms often suffer from performance degradation, overfitting and other problems. To address these problems, we propose a method based on Gaussian distribution resampling combined with a machine learning classifier. The method generates new samples in the form of Gaussian distribution by metering minority class samples in the unbalanced dataset, and after selecting the appropriate anchor samples, a balanced dataset is obtained. Finally, the balanced dataset is classified by a classifier. By conducting experiments on two real imbalanced food datasets, our method outperformed the classification performance of mainstream resampling methods on both datasets, achieving the best AUC and G-mean values. The experimental results demonstrate that our method can effectively identify minority class samples in the imbalanced food dataset and has some application value in the food field. © 2023 SPIE. With flexible SLA (Service Level Agreement) as the core business characteristic, cloud computing provides users with different value-added services through dynamic integration of various types of cloud services. However, in the traditional approach to service composition, with QoS (Quality of Service) as the core constraint, trust degree of the service can not be well regulated. This paper proposes a new approach to autonomous and flexible composition and management of could services with trust integration as its core feature. In this approach, the trust property of a cloud service consists in the combination of basic trust and experience trust. The basic trust is defined as the basic elements of the object with the Bayes reasoning analysis, while the experience trust defined as the behavior history between objects with its confidence given by Chebyshe and Bernstein inequality equation. A series of experiments on a prototype are conducted to verify the accuracy and validity of the mechanism proposed. The results show that the proposed approach is effective in composing and selecting services on the cloud. © 2018, Chinese Institute of Electronics. All right reserved.

In this paper, we design and develop Vehicle License Plate Recognition (VLPR) System, which is one part of comprehensive video management platform for parking lot. Combined with intelligent video analysis module, the proposed VLPR system can not only capture the license plates of those vehicles through ENTRANCE and EXIT of parking lot, but also recognize the contents of the captured license plates. In addition, the driver and passenger in the front row of the vehicle can be captured too. The capture subsystem operates well on embedded Linux environment running on Hi3516 SoC chip, and test results of the VLPR system meet the requirements of accuracy and real-time field applications. The VLPR system is easy to expand and modified for other Management Information System to realize functions like personnel management, vehicle tracking, and more automatic and intelligent functions of parking lot management. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
