The purpose of this research is to present a method to predict fraudulent transactions, adopt ensemble method and feature extraction by researching bitcoin trading data from Stanford University where published a total of 59, 788 records for public use. There are three methods for predicting fraudulent transactions comprise with (1) ensemble method combines and feature extraction with Node2Vec and centrality, (2) ensemble method and feature extraction with N ode2Vec and (3) ensemble method and feature extraction with centrality. In each method, the data imbalance is solved by using SMOTE method and data sharing for the performance testing of the model using 10-fold cross-validation and modeling with ensemble method. The model performance is measured with the F1 Score, precision, and recall. The results of each method reveal that method 3 is the most effective in predicting accuracy. © 2021 IEEE.

In recent years, many fields have expanded their research methods through the integration of artificial intelligence. In the current medical field, it is widely used in image recognition to diagnose patient symptoms, train clinical prediction models, and improve clinical workflow processes to avoid missing treatment opportunities. These methods have all achieved good results so far. Now, generative AI is also impacting the development of the medical field, not only generating prescriptions that match patient conditions but also being applied in generating medical images for data augmentation and simulating various pathological conditions, thereby aiding in training deep learning models. Stroke is a leading cause of death or disability, ranking as the second leading cause of death worldwide, next to cancer. If cancers were categorized individually, stroke would surpass all single diseases, making it a primary focus of research in brain disease treatment. There are already studies where generative AI has been used to create medical images, which are then manually evaluated by doctors to determine if they were generated by AI. In this project, we plan to generate CT images of strokes using generative AI and use a trained model (to diagnose stroke) to improve accuracy. Through this project, we hope to solve the problem of scarce stroke CT images while also providing support for training stroke-related models. © 2024 Copyright ACM.

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) often presents only mild symptoms in its early stages, and as there is no direct diagnostic method currently available, many patients are diagnosed only after the condition has worsened. Considering that magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can provide key information in the diagnosis of AD, but the condition may go undiagnosed under manual interpretation due to the subtleness of symptoms and the reliance on radiologists to interpret MRI images, this study aimed to develop an automated method for interpreting brain MR images, hoping to screen for potential AD patients. By combining image processing, the U-Net model, YOLOv8 model, various CNN model architectures, and ensemble data statistics, our method was able to identify features related to AD and predict whether a patient has the disease. Our method can process a complete set of MR images and automatically extract important slices for prediction, making it practical for medical applications. Furthermore, we tested the accuracy and reliability of the method with additional datasets. © 2024 Copyright ACM.

Advances in histopathological image segmentation have a significant role in the diagnosis and begin treatment immediately including a study of Cytomegalovirus(CMV) for the tissues. Histopathological change with confirmation by immuno-histochemical or in situ hybridization study is a gold standard for diagnosis of CMV tissue infection. This required pathologists to identify the histopathological change which is time-consuming and can be missed in tissue with a subtle change. Automatic analysis of histopathological images with Deep Learning(DL) can help pathologists to diagnose CMV tissue infection more accurately. Typical issues with histopathological images which impede automatic analysis are the extremely enormous size of histopathological images more than 1 gigapixel, the limitations of GPU memory, and a limited number of histopathology images. Additionally, whole slide histopathological images are split huge images into multiple small image patches by cropping using the sliding window technique. In this paper, we propose TransEN U-Net which derives a benefit of a hybrid CNN-Transformer base on the U-shaped architecture for boosting the performance of segmentation of histopathology. The transformer encoder not only is able to the patches but also the relative self-attention mechanism in order to share information between sequences. Experiment results of segmenting images by the two-dimensional indicate that the TransEN U-Net can productively discriminate CMV viral inclusions including achieving higher values in terms of DSC score.

In this paper, we investigate the economic dispatch problem of smart grids in time-varying directed networks. The EDP essentially revolves around optimizing the distribution of generation power amongst multiple generators, with the aim of fulfilling load demands at the lowest possible total generation cost, while strictly conforming to the constraints imposed by the local generation capacity. For a faster resolution of the EDP, we propose an efficient distributed accelerated economic dispatch algorithm that incorporates a unified momentum acceleration strategy into the push-pull deviation tracking approach. The involved acceleration strategy under specific momentum parameters includes two well-known acceleration strategies, i.e., the heavy-ball and Nesterov acceleration strategies, which is more flexible and provides additional improvements in convergence. We present rigorously theoretical proof of linear convergence to the optimal dispatch with explicit bounds for step size and momentum parameters. Finally, to verify the effectiveness of our algorithm and the correctness of the theoretical analysis, we conduct simulations of diverse EDP studies in smart grids. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper suggests using the saving algorithm for vehicle routing problems to optimize the maintenance route of the transmission station, which has classified transmission station types into 4 types and taken into account the conditions of time spent on equipment maintenance within the station to get the route with the lowest overall cost, is suggested in this paper as a way to optimize the maintenance route of the transmission station. The experiment results show that the suggested path can lower costs by up to 82% and reduce the time from 112 to 53 days.

Narrowing of the coronary arteries is an important indicator of the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients. Previous research using deep learning to identify narrowed vessels has primarily been based on object detection, but this approach has several problems, such as the inability to detect multivessel narrowing, calculate the actual rate of narrowing, and determine the exact location of occurrence. Therefore, we believe that the determination of narrowing should return to the original method, namely, calculating the maximum and minimum diameters around the vessel. However, to automate this task, a preprocessing step for separating each vessel is needed, especially for the complex structure of the left coronary artery. We designed a deep learning model capable of analyzing an entire coronary angiography (CAG) image for the separation and tracking of vessels. This not only serves as a preprocessing step for calculating narrowing but also allows for the analysis of different vessel flow directions, providing doctors with comprehensive assessment indicators. © 2024 Copyright ACM.

Coronary artery disease is the most prevalent type of heart disease and has a considerable mortality rate. In diagnosing and assessing coronary artery disease, physicians must integrate a variety of clinical information and test results to evaluate the degree of coronary artery obstruction and continually learn and improve their skills in clinical practice to ensure the most accurate assessment of patients. Currently, the use of information technology to assist medical staff allows more effective and accurate analysis of symptoms. This approach not only serves as an auxiliary standard for physician diagnosis, thereby reducing the possibility of misdiagnosis, but also significantly improves patient treatment outcomes and medical quality while reducing the time burden on physicians for diagnosing patients. This study utilized image processing techniques and thinning algorithms to automate the detection of coronary artery width and, following the recommended methods of physicians in related fields, used specific vessel widths to calculate the degree of coronary artery narrowing. This provides a more accurate and efficient assessment method for evaluating the degree of vascular constriction in patients with coronary artery disease. © 2024 Copyright ACM.

Unitig-centered pan-genome machine learning approach for predicting antibiotic resistance and discovering novel resistance genes in bacterial strains

In current genomic research, the widely used methods for predicting antimicrobial resistance (AMR) often rely on prior knowledge of known AMR genes or reference genomes. However, these methods have limitations, potentially resulting in imprecise predictions owing to incomplete coverage of AMR mechanisms and genetic variations. To overcome these limitations, we propose a pan-genome-based machine learning approach to advance our understanding of AMR gene repertoires and uncover possible feature sets for precise AMR classification. By building compacted de Brujin graphs (cDBGs) from thousands of genomes and collecting the presence/absence patterns of unique sequences (unitigs) for Pseudomonas aeruginosa, we determined that using machine learning models on unitig-centered pan-genomes showed significant promise for accurately predicting the antibiotic resistance or susceptibility of microbial strains. Applying a feature-selection-based machine learning algorithm led to satisfactory predictive performance for the training dataset (with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of > 0.929) and an independent validation dataset (AUC, approximately 0.77). Furthermore, the selected unitigs revealed previously unidentified resistance genes, allowing for the expansion of the resistance gene repertoire to those that have not previously been described in the literature on antibiotic resistance. These results demonstrate that our proposed unitig-based pan-genome feature set was effective in constructing machine learning predictors that could accurately identify AMR pathogens. Gene sets extracted using this approach may offer valuable insights into expanding known AMR genes and forming new hypotheses to uncover the underlying mechanisms of bacterial AMR. © 2024 The Authors

Electrocardiograms (ECGs) are crucial for detecting cardiac diseases like atrial fibrillation (AF). Traditional analysis methods like fast Fourier transform (FFT) face challenges with increasing data complexity. This study uses Taipei Veterans General Hospital data to explore quantum Fourier transform (QFT) for ECG analysis. Results show that QFT effectively analyzes ECG signals, matching FFT performance while benefiting from quantum computing's efficiency.
