A Gait Recognition Method Based on the Combination of Human Body Posture and Human Body Contour

Aiming at the issues that affect the gait recognition, such as outfit changes and carry-on-objects during gait recognition, this paper proposes a gait recognition method based on the improved GaitSet network, which relies on the fusion of human posture and human contour. This method introduces key points of human posture, and improves the precision of human contour extraction by introducing the key points of human posture. At the same time, the human posture map composed of the key points of human posture is used as the synchronous attribute of the contour map to extract gait features. Because key points focus on the inherent walking characteristics of human body, they are not affected by the external information such as clothing and carrying objects. Combined with the rich gait change attributes of human contour, it can effectively improve the accuracy and robustness of the gait recognition model. In scenes of human body wearing coats, our experimental results show that the accuracy of the proposed method in CASIA-B gait data set and self-built database can reach over 73.5% accuracy.

Recently, cloud radio access network (C-RAN) with caching as a service (CaaS) was proposed to merge the functionalities of communication, computing, and caching (CCC) together. In this paper, we dissect the interactions of CCC in C-RAN with CaaS from two dimensions: physical resource dimension and time dimension. In the physical resource dimension, we identify how to segment the baseband unit (BBU) pool resources (i.e., computation and storage) into different types of virtual machines (VMs). In the time dimension, we address how the long-term resource segmentation in the BBU pool impacts on the short-term transmit beamforming at the remote radio heads. We formulate the problem as a stochastic mixed-integer nonlinear programming (SMINLP) to minimize the system cost, including the server cost, VM cost and wireless transmission cost. After a series of approximation, including sample average approximation, successive convex approximation, and semidefinite relaxation, the SMINLP is approximated as a global consensus problem. The alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) is utilized to obtain the solution in a parallel fashion. Simulation results verify the convergence of our proposed algorithm, and also confirm that the proposed scheme is more cost-saving than that without considering the integration of CCC. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

Unsupervised feature selection based on Markov blanket and particle swarm optimization

Feature selection plays an important role in data mining and recognition, especially in the large scale text, image and biological data. Specifically, the class label information is unavailable to guide the selection of minimal feature subset in unsupervised feature selection, which is challenging and interesting. An unsupervised feature selection based on Markov blanket and particle swarm optimization is proposed named as UFSMB-PSO. The proposed method seeks to find the high-quality feature subset through multi-particles' cooperation of particle swarm optimization without using any learning algorithms. Moreover, the features' relevance will be computed based on an information metric of relevance gain, which provides an information theoretical foundation for finding the minimization of the redundancy between features. Our results on several benchmark datasets demonstrate that UFSMB-PSO can achieve significant improvement over state of the art unsupervised methods. © 1990-2011 Beijing institute of Aerospace Information.

Joint long-term cache allocation and short-term content delivery in green cloud small cell networks

Recent years have witnessed an exponential growth of mobile data traffic, which may lead to a serious traffic burn on the wireless networks and considerable power consumption. Network densification and edge caching are effective approaches to addressing these challenges. In this study, we investigate joint long-term cache allocation and short-term content delivery in cloud small cell networks (C-SCNs), where multiple smallcell BSs (SBSs) are connected to the central processor via fronthaul and can store popular contents so as to reduce the duplicated transmissions in networks. Accordingly, a long-term power minimization problem is formulated by jointly optimizing multicast beamforming, BS clustering, and cache allocation under quality of service (QoS) and storage constraints. The resultant mixed timescale design problem is an anticausal problem because the optimal cache allocation depends on the future file requests. To handle it, a two-stage optimization scheme is proposed by utilizing historical knowledge of users' requests and channel state information. Specifically, the online content delivery design is tackled with a penalty-based approach, and the periodic cache updating is optimized with a distributed alternating method. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms conventional schemes and performs extremely close to a genie-aided lower bound in the low caching region. Combining the latest biological results of behavior of intensive flight of starlings, this paper presents topological formation structure and an improved particle swarm algorithm based on the flight mechanism of starlings and its application to the formation of UAV cluster. It also proposes an approach of controling formation behavior of UAVs based on the improved artificial potential fields method. Through simulation experiments, the comparative results are given for verifying the efficiency of formation missions of our methods, as well as simulation of cluster behavior of aggregation and dispersion. The results provide technical assistance for simulation of autonomous collaborative formation of large-scale UAV cluster. © 2018, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

During the prediction of software defect distribution, the data redundancy caused by the multi-dimensional measurement will lead to the decrease of prediction accuracy. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposed a novel software defect prediction model based on neighborhood preserving embedded support vector machine(NPESVM) algorithm. The model uses SVM as the basic classifier of software defect distribution prediction model, and the NPE algorithm is combined to keep the local geometric structure of the data unchanged in the process of dimensionality reduction. The problem of precision reduction of SVM caused by data loss after attribute reduction is avoided. Compared with single SVM and LLE-SVM prediction algorithm, the prediction model in this paper improves the F-measure in aspect of software defect distribution prediction by 3%~4%.

The K-means algorithm is arguably the most popular data clustering method, commonly applied to processed datasets in some "feature spaces", as is in spectral clustering. Highly sensitive to initializations, however, K-means encounters a scalability bottleneck with respect to the number of clusters K as this number grows in big data applications. In this work, we promote a closely related model called K-indicators model and construct an efficient, semi-convex-relaxation algorithm that requires no randomized initializations. We present extensive empirical results to show advantages of the new algorithm when K is large. In particular, using the new algorithm to start the K-means algorithm, without any replication, can significantly outperform the standard K-means with a large number of currently state-ofthe-A rt random replications. Non-blind audio bandwidth extension is a standard technique within contemporary audio codecs to efficiently code audio signals at low bitrates. In existing methods, in most cases high frequencies signal is usually generated by a duplication of the corresponding low frequencies and some parameters of high frequencies. However, the perception quality of coding will significantly degrade if the correlation between high frequencies and low frequencies becomes weak. In this paper, we quantitatively analyse the correlation via computing mutual information value. The analysis results show the correlation also exists in low frequency signal of the context dependent frames besides the current frame. In order to improve the perception quality of coding, we propose a novel method of high frequency coarse spectrum generation to improve the conventional replication method. In the proposed method, the coarse high frequency spectrums are generated by a nonlinear mapping model using deep recurrent neural network. The experiments confirm that the proposed method shows better performance than the reference methods.
