Effective target detection and recognition are essential in remote sensing image field, and complex evidence theory (CET) is widely used for this purpose. However, measuring conflict between complex basic belief assignments (CBBAs) in CET is challenging. This study proposes a complex belief Jensen-Shannon divergence based on the complex Pignistic transformation to measure conflict, accounting for quantum interference effects in CBBAs. We analyze the properties of the CBJS divergence, including boundedness, nondegeneracy, and symmetry. Numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the conflict measure method and the potential of improving the robustness of intelligent interpretation system. Moreover, an algorithm for decision-making is presented and applied in pattern recognition illustrating its superiority.

The 3D generative adversarial network (GAN) inversion converts an image into 3D representation to attain high-fidelity reconstruction and facilitate realistic image manipulation within the 3D latent space. However, previous approaches face challenges regarding the trade-off between the reconstruction ability and editability. That is, reversing a real-world image to a low-dimensional latent code would inevitably lead to information loss, and achieving a near-perfect reconstruction using high-rate triplane representation often limits the ability to manipulate the image freely in the latent space. To address these issues, we propose a novel latent conditioning encoder-based framework with the alignment between the low-dimensional latent and high-dimensional triplane. A non-semantic guided editing strategy bridges the intrinsic relation between the latent condition and triplane generation, making it possible to edit the high-dimensional representation by latent manipulation. As a result, our method can achieve high-fidelity reconstruction and editing simultaneously by directly controlling the latent code. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach excels in reconstruction and editing quality compared to previous 3D inversion methods. Furthermore, our method can also edit even real faces with large poses and out-of-domain cases.

Customer lifetime value, a core concept in direct response marketing for quite some time, is now receiving increasing attention from management at Boston University's School of Management. However, the majority of published works on the topic have mainly concentrated on lauding its usefulness as a decision-making metric, offering only one numerical example of how it is calculated or determined, incorporating it into broader discussions of profitability, and examining its function in decisions regarding customer acquisition and the tensions between acquiring and retaining customers. There are three steps to the suggested method: preprocessing, feature extraction, and model training. After archiving duplicate and missing data, data preparation is employed to eradicate missing values. The feature selection process incorporates K-means, principal component analysis (PCA), and customer lifetime value measurements. An increase in the model training procedure's accuracy was achieved by utilizing the Hybrid DT and naive bayes. The recommended approach achieves a higher accuracy rate of 96.03 % compared to its rivals, which includes naive bayes and Hybrid DT.

Aiming at the issues that affect the gait recognition, such as outfit changes and carry-on-objects during gait recognition, this paper proposes a gait recognition method based on the improved GaitSet network, which relies on the fusion of human posture and human contour. This method introduces key points of human posture, and improves the precision of human contour extraction by introducing the key points of human posture. At the same time, the human posture map composed of the key points of human posture is used as the synchronous attribute of the contour map to extract gait features. Because key points focus on the inherent walking characteristics of human body, they are not affected by the external information such as clothing and carrying objects. Combined with the rich gait change attributes of human contour, it can effectively improve the accuracy and robustness of the gait recognition model. In scenes of human body wearing coats, our experimental results show that the accuracy of the proposed method in CASIA-B gait data set and self-built database can reach over 73.5% accuracy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Massive data is written to blockchain systems for the destination of keeping safe. However, existing blockchain protocols still demand that each full node has to contain the entire chain. Most nodes quit because they are unable to grow their storage space with the size of data. As the number of nodes decreases, the security of blockchains would significantly reduce. We present SE-Chain, a novel scale-out blockchain model that improves storage scalability under the premise of ensuring safety and achieves efficient retrieval. The SE-Chain consists of three parts:the data layer, the processing layer and the storage layer. In the data layer, each transaction is stored in the AB-M tree (Adaptive Balanced Merkle tree), which adaptively combines the advantages of balanced binary tree (quick retrieval) and Merkle tree (quick verification). In the processing layer, the full nodes store the part of the complete chain selected by the duplicate ratio regulation algorithm. Meanwhile, the node reliability verification method is used for increasing the stability of full nodes and reducing the risk of imperfect data recovering caused by the reduction of duplicate number in the storage layer. The experimental results on real datasets show that the query time of SE-Chain based on the AB-M tree is reduced by 17% when 16 nodes exist. Overall, SE-Chain improves the storage scalability extremely and implements efficient querying of transactions.

Vision Reimagined: AI-Powered Breakthroughs in WiFi Indoor Imaging

Indoor imaging is a critical task for robotics and internet-of-things. WiFi as an omnipresent signal is a promising candidate for carrying out passive imaging and synchronizing the up-to-date information to all connected devices. This is the first research work to consider WiFi indoor imaging as a multi-modal image generation task that converts the measured WiFi power into a high-resolution indoor image. Our proposed WiFi-GEN network achieves a shape reconstruction accuracy that is 275% of that achieved by physical model-based inversion methods. Additionally, the Fréchet Inception Distance score has been significantly reduced by 82%. To examine the effectiveness of models for this task, the first large-scale dataset is released containing 80,000 pairs of WiFi signal and imaging target. Our model absorbs challenges for the model-based methods including the non-linearity, ill-posedness and non-certainty into massive parameters of our generative AI network. The network is also designed to best fit measured WiFi signals and the desired imaging output. For reproducibility, we will release the data and code upon acceptance. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Oblique Decision Tree (ODT) separates the feature space by linear projections, as opposed to the conventional Decision Tree (DT) that forces axis-parallel splits. ODT has been proven to have a stronger representation ability than DT, as it provides a way to create shallower tree structures while still approximating complex decision boundaries. However, its learning efficiency is still insufficient, since the linear projections cannot be transmitted to the child nodes, resulting in a waste of model parameters. In this work, we propose an enhanced ODT method with Feature Concatenation (FC-ODT), which enables in-model feature transformation to transmit the projections along the decision paths. Theoretically, we prove that our method enjoys a faster consistency rate w.r.t. the tree depth, indicating that our method possesses a significant advantage in generalization performance, especially for shallow trees. Experiments show that FC-ODT can outperform the other state-of-the-art decision trees with a limited tree depth. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Recently, the task of contactless physiological signal monitoring based on deep learning technologies has attracted a large number of scholars. However, few studies focus on the application of real-world scenarios, especially in clinical medicine scenes. In this paper, a novel video-based contactless respiratory rate measurement algorithm is developed for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients. Firstly, a large-scale clinical real-world database towards ICU patient is collected in this study. Then, based on the dataset, the unsupervised learning is first introduced to extract the respiration waveform from the chest area of patients. Lastly, a respiratory rate estimator based on neural networks is proposed and trained on a periodical physiological signal simulation dataset, and utilizes the transfer learning technique to extract the respiratory rate from only 10-second respiration waveform. We obtained estimated respiratory rate with an MAE of 2.8 breaths/min and an STD of 3.0 breaths/min against the reference value computed from the specialized medical device. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our proposed methods achieve competitive results over state-of-the-art (SOTA) method in the real-world scenario. © 2023 IEEE.

Named Entity Recognition (NER) is one of the contents of Knowledge Extraction (KE) that transforms data into knowledge representation. However, Chinese NER faces the problem of lacking clear word boundaries that limit the effectiveness of the KE. Although the flat lattice Transformer (FLAT) framework, which converts lattice structure into a flat structure including a set of spans, can effectively improve this problem and obtain advanced results, there still exist the problems of insensitivity to entity importance weights and insufficient feature learning. This paper proposes a weighted flat lattice Transformer architecture for Chinese NER, namely WFLAT. The WFLAT first adds a weight matrix into self-attention calculation, which can obtain finer-grained partitioning of entities to improve experimental performance, and then adopts a multi-layer Transformer encoder with each layer using a multi-head self-attention mechanism. Extensive experimental results on benchmarks demonstrate that our proposed KE model can obtain state-of-the-art performance for the Chinese NER task.
