Multiple electric vehicles simultaneously connected to a distribution load network will significantly impact the stability of the power grid. This paper proposes an improved Honey-badger algorithm (IHBA) through elite reverse learning, spiral update, and wild dog survival strategies to optimize the orderly charging of electric vehicles (EV). Objective functions of EV charge orderly planning are taken by using load fluctuation satisfaction, user cost satisfaction, and user convenience satisfaction to achieve the high efficiency of orderly charging. The benchmark test function and the electric vehicle se-quential charging problem were employed to evaluate the proposed IHBA approach. The obtained results are compared with the other algorithms in the literature, which indicate that the IHBA algorithm does not only provides more accurate outcome but better con-vergence speed than the other competitors. © 2022;Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. Uncivilized urban events disrupt urban order and have a detrimental impact on daily life. Recognizing the significant implications of these events, urban managers strive to proactively prevent them by accurately predicting their future occurrence. However, existing methods overlook crucial contextual information within urban scenarios while mining spatio-temporal dependencies in single event series. Fortunately, we discovered a connection between meteorological conditions and uncivilized events. To leverage this relationship, we propose a novel approach named the Meteorology-Assisted Spatio-Temporal Graph Neural Network (MAST) which integrates meteorological information into the spatio-temporal dependency modeling for predicting urban uncivilized events. Additionally, our approach captures latent regularities in human behavior by explicitly modeling individuals’ psychological states based on meteorological information. We also adopt cross-view contrastive learning between urban regions to dynamically capture the informative components of meteorological information for precise prediction of urban uncivilized events. Experimental evaluations on a real-world dataset demonstrate the superiority of MAST over state-of-theart baselines in terms of predictive performance.

Few-shot learning can potentially learn the target knowledge in extremely few data regimes. Existing few-shot medical image segmentation methods fail to consider the global anatomy correlation between the support and query sets. They generally adopt a weak one-way information transmission that can not fully explore the knowledge to segment query data. To address this problem, we propose a novel Symmetrical Supervision network based on traditional two-branch methods. We raise two main contributions: (1) The Symmetrical Supervision Mechanism is leveraged to strengthen the supervision of network training; (2) A transformer-based Global Feature Alignment module is introduced to increase the global consistency between the two branches. Experimental results on two challenging datasets (abdominal segmentation dataset CHAOS and cardiac segmentation dataset MS-CMRSeg) show a remarkable performance compared to other comparing methods.

Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is a new computing paradigm that enables cloud computing and information technology (IT) services to be delivered at the network’s edge. By shifting the load of cloud computing to individual local servers, MEC helps meet the requirements of ultralow latency, localized data processing, and extends the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) for end-users. However, the crosscutting nature of MEC and the multidisciplinary components necessary for its deployment have presented additional security and privacy concerns. Fortunately, Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms can cope with excessively unpredictable and complex data, which offers a distinct advantage in dealing with sophisticated and developing adversaries in the security industry. Hence, in this paper we comprehensively provide a survey of security and privacy in MEC from the perspective of AI. On the one hand, we use European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) MEC reference architecture as our based framework while merging the software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) to better illustrate a serviceable platform of MEC. On the other hand, we focus on new security and privacy issues, as well as potential solutions from the viewpoints of AI. Finally, we comprehensively discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with applying AI to MEC security and privacy as possible future research directions. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Recovery from substance abuse is a continuous struggle as almost 60% of the addicts at any given instance in time during the recovery process experiences a relapse. The situation worsens during withdrawal, where the process, more so for those recovering from crystal methamphetamine addiction, often presents with intense symptoms that are really fatiguing. Mobile sensors offer a practical solution to continuously monitor these symptoms and provide near real-time insights into an individual's progress towards recovery. This paper explores two deep learning approaches, CNNs and LSTMs(Long Short Term Memory), to identify patterns related to withdrawal symptoms using accelerometer data. It will also address key limitations in current state-of-the-art methods, such as unbiased data collection, feature extraction, and mobile device implementation. Finally, the paper presents personalized reports designed to aid in therapy, helping individuals stay on track and reducing the likelihood of relapse.

In this paper, we conduct a comparative analysis of sleep stage classification for patients having different levels of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). For the analysis, we use 10 bio-signal channels: 4 EEG (Electroencephalogram) channels (F3-M2, F4-M1, C3-M2, and C4-M1), 2 EOG (Electrooculogram) channels (E1-M2 and E2-M1), and 4 other bio-channels (EMG, ECG, Flow, and Abdomen). In this work, in particular, we consider OSA severity for training and testing. Then, we investigated the detailed impacts of the OSA severity on the accuracy performance of a modern deep learning model with single channel and multiple channels. © 2022 IEEE.

Optimal and Efficient Algorithms for Decentralized Online Convex Optimization

We investigate decentralized online convex optimization (D-OCO), in which a set of local learners are required to minimize a sequence of global loss functions using only local computations and communications. Previous studies have established O(n5/4ρ−1/2√T) and O(n3/2ρ−1 log T) regret bounds for convex and strongly convex functions respectively, where n is the number of local learners, ρ √T) for convex functions and Ω(n) for strongly convex functions. To fill these gaps, in this paper, we first develop a novel D-OCO algorithm that can respectively reduce the regret bounds for convex and strongly convex functions to Õ(nρ−1/4√T) and Õ(nρ−1/2 log T). The primary technique is to design an online accelerated gossip strategy that enjoys a faster average consensus among local learners. Furthermore, by carefully exploiting spectral properties of a specific network topology, we enhance the lower bounds for convex and strongly convex functions to Ω(nρ−1/4√T) and Ω(nρ−1/2 log T), respectively. These results suggest that the regret of our algorithm is nearly optimal in terms of T, n, and ρ for both convex and strongly convex functions. Finally, we propose a projection-free variant of our algorithm to efficiently handle practical applications with complex constraints. Our analysis reveals that the projection-free variant can achieve O(nT 3/4) and O(nT 2/3(log_ T)1/3) regret bounds for convex and strongly convex functions with nearly optimal Õ(ρ−1/2√T) and Õ(ρ−1/2T 1/3(log T)2/3) communication rounds, respectively. Beyond Chain-of-Thought, Effective Graph-of-Thought Reasoning in Language Models

With the widespread use of language models (LMs) in NLP tasks, researchers have discovered the potential of Chain-of-thought (CoT) to assist LMs in accomplishing complex reasoning tasks by generating intermediate steps. However, human thought processes are often non-linear, rather than simply sequential chains of thoughts. Therefore, we propose Graph-of-Thought (GoT) reasoning, which models human thought processes not only as a chain but also as a graph. By representing thought units as nodes and connections between them as edges, our approach captures the non-sequential nature of human thinking and allows for a more realistic modeling of thought processes. GoT adopts a two-stage framework with an additional GoT encoder for thought graph representation and fuses the graph representation with the original input representation through a gated fusion mechanism. We evaluate GoT’s performance on a text-only reasoning task (AQUA-RAT) and a multimodal reasoning task (scienceQA). Our model achieves significant improvement over the strong CoT baseline on the AQUA-RAT test set and boosts accuracy from 85.19% to 87.59% using the T5-base model over the state-of-the-art Multimodal-CoT (Zhang et al., 2023) on the scienceQA test set. Mobile Ad-Hoc network is a self-configuring and multi-hop collection of mobile devices for making successful communication. The wireless and mobile communication process are encountered based on bandwidth, process control and energy conception. Energy conception is considered and dynamically changed to rely on life time of batteries and power. The life time of battery get exhausted very quickly the nodes are moved and changed rapidly across the network. This paper noticed the problem of life time of power, batteries and energy consumption problem in various routing stages. The proposed Intelligent Gen Algorithm is used to get optimal solution for ensuring high robustness, flexibility and Energy consumption factor. It presents a common framework to balance various routing requirements in MANETs dynamically. The following are the main contributions includes, i. introducing Intelligent GEN Algorithms to classify the throughout bandwidth, delay, data ratio. ii. Various routing performance are evaluated and viewed by speed, packetize and simulation time. The comparison evaluated by select routing algorithm using NS-2. The simulation results are recorded and the performance is monitored by using on demand access protocl. The result clearly demonstrated the proposed Intelligent Gen algorithm used in self-organized manner by wireless channel.
