AdvMap: Crafting Adversarial Maps to Counter AI Aimbot in First-Person Shooter Games

AI-based automatic aiming cheats (a.k.a., AI aimbots) have proliferated in first-person shooter (FPS) games, which grant malicious users an unfair gameplay advantage. Since AI aimbots operate independently of game data and are developed using object detection algorithms, they are difficult to detect with traditional anti-cheating methods. To actively counter AI aimbots, we propose AdvMap, which introduces invisible adversarial perturbations into game scene elements. In optimizing these adversarial perturbations, we design a mixture-of-misleading loss function that increases the total target confidence score within each misleading bounding box. It mitigates the risk of segment missing even when AdvMap is obscured, thereby enhancing the robustness. Besides, an L1-norm constraint with a small scale is employed during each update of the adversarial perturbations, which preserves the fidelity of the game scene. Additionally, to enable effective adaptation to interact with various elements within game environments, we introduce an Image-Subspace-Based Multi-Directional (ISMD) optimization strategy. It enables the adversarial perturbations to adaptively fit into each element by leveraging the mapping relationship between the game's 3D scenes and its corresponding 2D images. Furthermore, we construct a comprehensive benchmark, which includes various FPS games with different graphics styles and perspectives. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of our method in countering various AI aimbot tools on different state-of-the-art object detection methods. © 2021 IEEE.

Graph mining aims to explore interesting structural information of a graph. Pattern-centric systems typically transform a generic-purpose graph mining problem into a series of subgraph matching problems for high performance. Existing pattern-centric mining systems reduce the substantial search space towards a single pattern by exploring a highly-optimized matching order, but inherent computational redundancies of such a matching order itself still suffer severely, leading to significant performance degradation. The key innovation of this work lies in a general redundancy criterion that characterizes computational redundancies arising in not only handing a single pattern but also matching multiple patterns simultaneously. In this paper, we present SumPA, a high-performance pattern-centric graph mining system that can sufficiently remove redundant computations for any complex graph mining problems. SumPA features three key designs: (1) a pattern abstraction technique that can simplify numerous complex patterns into a few simple abstract patterns based on pattern similarity, (2) abstraction-guided pattern matching that completely eliminates (totally and partially) redundant computations during subgraph enumeration, and (3) a suite of system optimizations to maximize storage and computation efficiency. Our evaluation on a wide variety of real-world graphs shows that SumPA outperforms the two state-of-the-art systems Peregrine and GraphPi by up to 61.89× and 8.94×, respectively. For many mining problems on large graphs, Peregrine takes hours or even days while SumPA finishes in only a few minutes.

Target speaker extraction aims to extract the speech of a specific speaker from a multi-talker mixture as specified by an auxiliary reference. Most studies focus on the scenario where the target speech is highly overlapped with the interfering speech. However, this scenario only accounts for a small percentage of real-world conversations. In this paper, we aim at the sparsely overlapped scenarios in which the auxiliary reference needs to perform two tasks simultaneously: detect the activity of the target speaker and disentangle the active speech from any interfering speech. We propose an audio-visual speaker extraction model named ActiveExtract, which leverages speaking activity from audio-visual active speaker detection (ASD). The ASD directly provides the frame-level activity of the target speaker, while its intermediate feature representation is trained to discriminate speech-lip synchronization that could be used for speaker disentanglement. Experimental results show our model outperforms baselines across various overlapping ratios, achieving an average improvement of more than 4 dB in terms of SI-SNR.

With the increasing amount of computation in high-performance computing, the scale of interconnection networks is becoming larger and larger. It is inevitable that processors or links in the network become faulty. Therefore, it is very important for a processor to understand the security status of itself and neighbors, and then adaptively and reliably communicate. However, the existing security information models consider faulty processors or faulty links separately, and do not consider the situation where both processors and links fail simultaneously. The Exchanged Hypercube is an excellent interconnection network structure which achieves a balance between network functionality and hardware overhead while preserving many excellent properties of the Hypercube. In this paper, we propose an adaptive fault-tolerant routing algorithm of the Exchanged Hypercube based on an improved local security information model, which considers the faulty processors and faulty links simultaneously. This algorithm always can select suitable processors for routing based on the local security information and unsafe coefficients of processors, which greatly reduces the impact of the faulty of networks. The adaptive fault-tolerant routing algorithm of the Exchanged Hypercube network is not only suitable for regular networks but also for heterogeneous networks since the Exchanged Hypercube is a semi regular network. Sufficient experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper has a lower packet loss rate, a higher success rate, and a shorter average path length. © 2023 IEEE.

Powered by the massive data generated by the blossom of mobile and Web-of-Things (WoT) devices, Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) have developed both in accuracy and size in recent years. Conventional cloud-based DNN training incurs rapidly-increasing data and model transmission overheads as well as privacy issues. Mobile edge computing (MEC) provides a promising solution by facilitating DNN model training on edge servers at the network edge. However, edge servers often suffer from constrained resources and need to collaborate on DNN training. Unfortunately, managed by different telecoms, edge servers cannot properly collaborate with each other without incentives and trust. In this paper, we introduce PipeEdge, a scheme that promotes collaborative edge training between edge servers by introducing incentives and trust based on blockchain. Under the PipeEdge scheme, edge servers can hire trustworthy workers for pipelined DNN training tasks based on model parallelism. We implement PipeEdge and evaluate it comprehensively with four different DNN models. The results show that it outperforms state-of-the-art schemes by up to 173.98% with negligible overheads. © 2023 ACM.

Emotion recognition in conversation (ERC) aims at accurately identifying emotional states expressed in conversational content. Existing ERC methods, although relying on semantic understanding, often encounter challenges when confronted with incomplete or misleading semantic information. In addition, when dealing with the interaction between emotional and semantic information, existing methods are often difficult to effectively distinguish the complex relationship between the two, which affects the accuracy of emotion recognition. To address the problems of semantic misdirection and emotional cross-talk encountered by traditional models when confronted with complex conversational data, we propose a semantic and emotional dual channel (SEDC) strategy for emotion recognition in conversations to process emotional and semantic information independently. Under this strategy, emotion information provides an auxiliary recognition function when the semantics are unclear or lacking, enhancing the accuracy of the model. Our model consists of two modules: the emotion processing module accurately captures the emotional features of each utterance through contrastive learning, and then constructs a dialogue emotion propagation map to simulate the emotional information conveyed in the dialogue;the semantic processing module combines an external knowledge base to enhance the semantic expression of the dialogue through knowledge enhancement strategies. This divide-and-conquer approach allows us to more deeply analyze the emotional and semantic dimensions of complex dialogues. Experimental results on the IEMOCAP, EmoryNLP, MELD, and DailyDialog datasets show that our approach significantly outperforms existing techniques and effectively improves the accuracy of dialogue emotion recognition. Large Language Models (LLMs) have achieved significant performance in various natural language processing tasks but also pose safety and ethical threats, thus requiring red teaming and alignment processes to bolster their safety. To effectively exploit these aligned LLMs, recent studies have introduced jailbreak attacks based on multi-turn dialogues. These attacks aim to prompt LLMs to generate harmful or biased content by guiding them through contextual content. However, the underlying reasons for the effectiveness of multi-turn jailbreaks remain unclear. Existing attacks often focus on optimizing queries and escalating toxicity to construct dialogues, lacking a thorough analysis of the inherent vulnerabilities of LLMs. In this paper, we first conduct an in-depth analysis of the differences between single-turn and multi-turn jailbreaks and find that successful multi-turn jailbreaks can effectively disperse the attention of LLMs on keywords associated with harmful behaviors, especially in historical responses. Based on this, we propose ASJA, a new multi-turn jailbreak approach by shifting the attention of LLMs, specifically by iteratively fabricating the dialogue history through a genetic algorithm to induce LLMs to generate harmful content. Extensive experiments on three LLMs and two datasets show that our approach surpasses existing approaches in jailbreak effectiveness, the stealth of jailbreak prompts, and attack efficiency. Our work emphasizes the importance of enhancing the robustness of LLMs’ attention mechanism in multi-turn dialogue scenarios for a better defense strategy. With the exponential growth of video data, video summarization techniques are urgently needed for reducing people's efforts in the videos' content exploration by generating succinct but informative summaries from original lengthy videos. Though supervised video summarization approaches have demonstrated the state-of-the-art performance, unsupervised methods are still highly demanded due to resourcefully expensive human annotations and the subjectiveness of video summarization tasks. In this paper, a novel unsupervised-based Deep Self-attention Recurrent summarization network with Reinforcement Learning (DSR-RL) for video summarization is proposed. The model can learn the input video sequence and suggest the key-shot summary without additional human annotations by integrating self-attention, BRNN, and reinforcement learning mechanisms. The DSR-RL improves not only importance score through the attention map vector of self-attention network but also the diversity of summaries via the reward function of reinforcement learning. Our method outperforms the state-of-the-art unsupervised video summarization methods on both SumMe and TVSum datasets. The source code is available at https://***/phaphuang/DSR-RL. © 2021 IEEE

Knowledge representation is becoming an effective way of information extraction. However, considerable studies ignored its application scenarios in the zero-shot setting. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for prompt language models based on external ontology knowledge called Knowledge-Based Prompt Tuning for the Zero-shot Relation Triplet Extraction (KBPT), which encourages further investigation in low-resource regimes to address the data scarcity problem in Relation Triplet Extraction (RTE). The major task of relation triplet extraction in zero-shot learning is to extract multiple triplets that are consisted of head entities, tail entities, and relation labels from an input sentence where the extracted relation labels do not exist in the training set. The fundamental idea of prompt tuning is to construct a prompt template, then append it behind the input text as the pre-trained language models (PLMs) input, thus, transforming the classification task into a masked language model prediction. However, our proposed model does not involve the mask language model prediction but a well-designed prompt template in a structured text format to generate synthetic training data containing the unseen relation category. Concretely, we utilize the relation labels and incorporate virtual tokens sources from the relation semantics to construct a structured prompt template for generating synthetic training instances. Moreover, to further enrich and supplement prior knowledge, we draw on ontology schema based on external knowledge bases to enhance the capability of semantic representation in the prompt template. To address the problem of knowledge heterogeneity, we synergistically optimize these embedding representations by way of collective training. In addition, we carefully design a Multiple Triplets Decoding (MTD) algorithm to break through the limitation of extracting multiple relation triplets in a sentence, and our proposed model is model-agnostic and can be orthogon

Visual Text-to-Speech (VTTS) aims to take the environmental image as the prompt to synthesize the reverberant speech for the spoken content. The challenge of this task lies in understanding the spatial environment from the image. Many attempts have been made to extract global spatial visual information from the RGB space of an spatial image. However, local and depth image information are crucial for understanding the spatial environment, which previous works have ignored. To address the issues, we propose a novel multi-modal and multi-scale spatial environment understanding scheme to achieve immersive VTTS, termed M2SE-VTTS. The multimodal aims to take both the RGB and Depth spaces of the spatial image to learn more comprehensive spatial information, and the multi-scale seeks to model the local and global spatial knowledge simultaneously. Specifically, we first split the RGB and Depth images into patches and adopt the Gemini-generated environment captions to guide the local spatial understanding. After that, the multi-modal and multi-scale features are integrated by the local-aware global spatial understanding. In this way, M2SE-VTTS effectively models the interactions between local and global spatial contexts in the multi-modal spatial environment. Objective and subjective evaluations suggest that our model outperforms the advanced baselines in environmental speech generation.
