The goal of this project is to draw a deeper understanding of the subjective nature behind online product reviews, largely by examining a large dataset received from Amazon that contains numerous star ratings and comments. Since there is such a massive amount of data on the Amazon platform, it was perfect for the analysis. Our methodology is platform-agnostic and can be easily extended to other comparable datasets from other web platforms with comparable guarantees in achieving wide applicability. Our primary motivation is improving the dependability of online shopping. Since product reviews are currently widely used by many consumers as guides in making decisions to buy products, such reviews ought to be fair representations of the actual dependability and quality of the products. The goal of our effort is to identify patterns in the language and ratings of such reviews that would directly reflect the real customer sentiment and also the reliability of the product. Our approach has yielded already a rate of about 92%, which shows it has the potential greatly to raise the legitimacy of online reviews. We'd like to make our customers feel more confident and better equipped with information to make better and safer purchases on a website like Amazon and others. In the final analysis, we strive to make online shopping for our customers worldwide safer and more trustworthy. © 2024 IEEE.

The basis of this project is to investigate whether the YOLO, an object detection algorithm where 'You Only Look Once' constitutes the name, could be applied to develop FMCG management;together with the management of FMCG, it becomes the gateway to increasing retail precision, efficiency, and agility. Under real-time processing, the system detects and counts FMCG products on retail shelves with an accuracy rate of 92.5%. This accuracy ensures that the optimum stock levels are maintained and there will be no discrepancies. The system processes video feeds at 0.08 seconds per frame, thus allowing inventory data to be updated in real-time to enable quick, data-driven decisions. YOLO's flexibility ensures consistent performance across different store layouts and product types. This system integrates with other retail management tools and allows integrating inventory data in the real time. This means that it would be made available with invaluable insights which would prevent stock depletion while helping to curtail costs. This project takes YOLO ahead of just being a game changer in the FMCG inventory management while operating to reduce expenses and customer satisfaction due to product availability. © 2024 IEEE.

Supplier selection is an important business activity in order to realize the purchasing function in supply chain *** supplier selection process includes four stages,i.e.,bidding inviting,bidding,group decision-making,and results disclosure,involving the participation of manufacturing service demanders(MSDs),manufacturing service suppliers(MSSs),and ***,all the participants have raised concerns about the increased transparency in supplier ***,this study proposes a transparent supplier selection method by considering the engagement of *** this method,the Bayesian best-worst method(Bayesian BWM)is used to aggregate decision-makers'preferences into the overall optimal weights of the alternative MSSs,and the MSS with the largest weight is considered the suitable MSS for ***,blockchain is introduced to record the decision-making process information about supplier selection through a customized smart contract,where MSSs act as supervisors to supervise the decision-making process through the distributed consensus mechanism rather than directly participate in the decision-making ***,a case study of supplier selection in purchasing vibration acceleration sensors is *** result shows that the proposed method can support MSDs in selecting suitable MSS from alternative MSSs by aggregating decision-makers'preferences,and blockchain can provide credible information about the supplier selection process for MSSs,MSDs,and *** this way,the transparency of supplier selection is enhanced.

The exploitation and hijacking of API vulnerabilities are becoming increasingly prominent issues in software supply chain security. This paper proposes an Object-Z based formal verification method for APIs in the supply chain, aiming to address the security risks associated with API applications. By incorporating the concept of design by contract and using Object-Z for formal modeling, a dynamic defense against API threats is implemented. Finally, based on a classification analysis of API threats in the supply chain, this paper presents a ase study through modeling and application analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

This study presents an overview on intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)-enabled sensing and communication for the forthcoming sixth-generation(6G) wireless networks, in which IRSs are strategically deployed to proactively reconfigure wireless environments to improve both sensing and communication(S&C) performance. First, we exploit a single IRS to enable wireless sensing in the base station's(BS's) non-line-of-sight(NLoS) area. In particular, we present three IRS-enabled NLoS target sensing architectures with fully-passive, semi-passive, and active IRSs, respectively. We compare their pros and cons by analyzing the fundamental sensing performance limits for target detection and parameter estimation. Next, we consider a single IRS to facilitate integrated sensing and communication(ISAC), in which the transmit signals at the BS are used for achieving both S&C functionalities, aided by the IRS through reflective beamforming. We present joint transmit signal and receiver processing designs for realizing efficient ISAC, and jointly optimize the transmit beamforming at the BS and reflective beamforming at the IRS to balance the fundamental performance tradeoff between S&C. Furthermore, we discuss multi-IRS networked ISAC, by particularly focusing on multi-IRS-enabled multi-link ISAC, multi-region ISAC, and ISAC signal routing, respectively. Finally, we highlight various promising research topics in this area to motivate future work.

This paper presents a framework for assessing financial risk across industries by integrating rule-based modeling, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. The framework utilizes diverse data sources, including financial, tax, and judicial records, as well as financial reports from listed companies, to improve enterprise credit *** process begins with data preparation, which involves collecting and preprocessing data to ensure its quality and consistency. A rule-based preprocessing algorithm is developed to standardize the data for scoring. In the second phase, scoring is done using rule-based modeling informed by expert advice and AHP, which prioritizes and weights factors impacting industrial risk. This generates a customized scorecard for each industry. The third phase focuses on training AI models on the dataset. These models automatically learn to assign weights to indicators and generate industry scores by identifying complex patterns between the data and industry performance. The framework concludes with cross-validation to confirm the accuracy and reliability of the results. This approach provides insights into industry-wide scoring, supports continuous monitoring of industry performance, and enhances financial risk management decision-making. The proposed framework offers a robust and reliable tool for assessing financial risk across various industries. © 2024 IEEE.

ChestBox: Enabling Fast State Sharing for Stateful Serverless Computing with State Functions

This paper presents ChestBox, a novel approach that utilizes state functions to facilitate low-latency state sharing for stateful serverless computing. When an application function needs to share a state, the state function creates a memory space with Linux's shared memory object to store the state. Other application functions can then read the state directly from the shared memory. ChestBox enables fast state sharing that avoids excessive memory overhead without compromising on-demand resource allocation compared to existing solutions. This effectively reduces the energy consumption of serverless computing and promotes sustainable computing. The implementation of ChestBox on Apache OpenWhisk unearths two major implementation challenges, which we address with respective optimization techniques, i.e., state function channel and state swapping. The evaluation of ChestBox with four real-world applications shows that compared with the state-of-The-Art approach, it can reduce state-sharing latency by up to 99.71%, while reducing execution costs by 24.59% and storage costs by 99.76%. © 2016 IEEE.

With the rapid growth of manuscript submissions,finding eligible reviewers for every submission has become a heavy *** systems are powerful tools developed in computer science and information science to deal with this ***,most existing approaches resort to text mining techniques to match manuscripts with potential reviewers,which require high-quality textual information to perform *** this paper,we propose a reviewer recommendation algorithm based on a network diffusion process on a scholar-paper multilayer network,with no requirement for textual *** network incorporates the relationship of scholar-paper pairs,the collaboration among scholars,and the bibliographic coupling among *** results show that our proposed algorithm outperforms other state-of-the-art recommendation methods that use graph random walk and matrix factorization and methods that use machine learning and natural language processing,with improvements of over 7.62%in recall,5.66%in hit rate,and 47.53%in ranking *** work sheds light on the effectiveness of multilayer network diffusion-based methods in the reviewer recommendation problem,which will help to facilitate the peer-review process and promote information retrieval research in other practical scenes.

Many well-known and effective anomaly detection methods assume that a reasonable decision boundary has a hypersphere shape, which however is difficult to obtain in practice and is not sufficiently compact, especially when the data are in high-dimensional spaces. In this paper, we first propose a novel deep anomaly detection model that improves the original hypersphere learning through an orthogonal projection layer, which ensures that the training data distribution is consistent with the hypersphere hypothesis, thereby increasing the true positive rate and decreasing the false negative rate. Moreover, we propose a bi-hypersphere compression method to obtain a hyperspherical shell that yields a more compact decision region than a hyperball, which is demonstrated theoretically and numerically. The proposed methods are not confined to common datasets such as image and tabular data, but are also extended to a more challenging but promising scenario, graph-level anomaly detection, which learns graph representation with maximum mutual information between the substructure and global structure features while exploring orthogonal single- or bi-hypersphere anomaly decision boundaries. The numerical and visualization results on benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of our methods in comparison to many baselines and state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 12th International Conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2024.
