Fingerprint identification systems have been widely deployed in many occasions of our daily ***,together with many advantages,they are still vulnerable to the presentation attack(PA)by some counterfeit *** address challenges from PA,fingerprint liveness detection(FLD)technology has been proposed and gradually attracted people’s *** vast majority of the FLD methods directly employ convolutional neural network(CNN),and rarely pay attention to the problem of overparameterization and over-fitting of models,resulting in large calculation force of model deployment and poor model *** at filling this gap,this paper designs a lightweight multi-scale convolutional neural network method,and further proposes a novel hybrid spatial pyramid pooling block to extract abundant features,so that the number of model parameters is greatly reduced,and support multi-scale true/fake fingerprint ***,the representation self-challenge(RSC)method is used to train the model,and the attention mechanism is also adopted for optimization during execution,which alleviates the problem of model over-fitting and enhances generalization of detection ***,experimental results on two publicly benchmarks:LivDet2011 and LivDet2013 sets,show that our method achieves outstanding detection results for blind materials and *** size of the model parameters is only 548 KB,and the average detection error of cross-sensors and cross-materials are 15.22 and 1 respectively,reaching the highest level currently available.

In the age of AI, mobile architectures such as smartphones are still "cold machines"; machines do not feel. If the architecture is able to feel users' feelings and runtime user experience (UX), it will accordingly adapt performance/energy to find the optimal system-operating state that consumes the least energy to satisfy users. In this paper, we will utilize users' facial expressions (FEs) to learn their runtime UX. We know that FEs are the natural and direct way for humans to convey their emotions and feelings. Our study reveals that FEs also reflect UX. Our research for the first time quantifies the link between FEs and UX. Leveraging this link, the architecture will be able to use the front camera to see FEs and feel users' UX. Based on UX, the architecture can appropriately provision computing resources. We propose Vi-energy system to realize the above idea. Our evaluation shows that Vi-energy reduces energy consumption by 52.9% at maximum and secures UX.

The passive and frequency-flat reflection of IRS, as well as the high-dimensional IRS-reflected channels, have posed significant challenges for efficient IRS channel estimation, especially in wideband communication systems with significant multi-path channel delay spread. To address these challenges, we propose a novel neural network (NN)-empowered framework for IRS channel autocorrelation matrix estimation in wideband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. This framework relies only on the easily accessible reference signal received power (RSRP) measurements at users in existing wideband communication systems, without requiring additional pilot transmission. Based on the estimates of channel autocorrelation matrix, the passive reflection of IRS is optimized to maximize the average user received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) over all subcarriers in the OFDM system. Numerical results verify that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms existing power-measurement-based IRS reflection designs in wideband channels.

Conventional synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging methods based on the Nyquist sampling theorem encounters the dilemma of balancing imaging quality and resource consumption. In order to solve the problem, we propose a novel network to optimize the azimuth sampling pattern for sparse SAR imaging. We harness the impressive information extraction capabilities inherent in deep neural networks to efficiently segregate valuable information from clutter. This empowers us to extract more pertinent data while minimizing pulse utilization. Additionally, we have integrated the nonuniform fast Fourier transform (NUFFT) MF operator into the network-based SAR imaging framework, ensuring both efficiency and viability of the proposed approach. Experiments on real SAR scene data have been conducted, and both visual comparisons and numerical analysis demonstrate the efficiency and superiority of our method in the field of sparse SAR imaging. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI)-based indoor localization offers a cost-effective solution for autonomous mobile robot navigation in 3D indoor environments, including cross-floor and multi-building structures. However, localization accuracy is fundamentally constrained by the low sampling density and unstable measurement of RSSI data. So far, existing methods neglect cross-environment RSSI coherence (e.g., repeated signal patterns in geometrically similar areas), resulting in unreliable fingerprint databases. What’s more, most approaches fail to model the spatial hierarchy of buildings, floors, and coordinates, which leads to lower accuracy in indoor positioning model predictions. To address these issues, we propose EP-3DLoc, a novel 3D indoor localization framework that combines an Environment-Invariant feature-based data Completion (EIC) method with a Position-Related feature-based Localization (PRL) method. The EIC enhances data quality by filling in sparse RSSI data using environment-invariant features, which are recurring RSSI patterns found in similar environmental structures. The PRL module combines multi-scale RSSI signal processing (raw data and image-like data) with a multi-task network that analyzes location relationships, enhancing localization accuracy in 3D environments. Experimental results on public datasets (TUT2018, UTSIndoorLoc, and UJIIndoorLoc) have demonstrated that EP-3DLoc achieves state-of-the-art performance on indoor localization in multi-building environments. Further testing on the self-constructed dataset HZAUIndoorLoc have revealed that EP-3DLoc not only outperforms existing methods in localization accuracy but also maintains low energy consumption and strong resistance to interference. © 2014 IEEE.

Throughput-oriented associated transaction assignment in sharding blockchains for IoT social data storage

Blockchain is a viable solution to provide data integrity for the enormous volume of 5G IoT social data, while we need to break through the throughput bottleneck of blockchain. Sharding is a promising technology to solve the problem of low throughput in blockchains. However, cross-shard communication hinders the effective improvement of blockchain throughput. Therefore, it is critical to reasonably allocate transactions to different shards to improve blockchain throughput. Existing research on blockchain sharding mainly focuses on shards formation, configuration, and consensus, while ignoring the negative impact of cross-shard communication on blockchain throughput. Aiming to maximize the throughput of transaction processing, we study how to allocate blockchain transactions to shards in this paper. We propose an Associated Transaction assignment algorithm based on Closest Fit (ATCF). ATCF classifies associated transactions into transaction groups which are then assigned to different shards in the non-ascending order of transaction group sizes periodically. Within each epoch, ATCF tries to select a shard that can handle all the transactions for each transaction group. If there are multiple such shards, ATCF selects the shard with the remaining processing capacity closest to the number of transactions in the transaction group. When no such shard exists, ATCF chooses the shard with the largest remaining processing capacity for the transaction group. The transaction groups that cannot be completely processed within the current epoch will be allocated in the subsequent epochs. We prove that ATCF is a 2-approximation algorithm for the associated transaction assignment problem. Simulation results show that ATCF can effectively improve the blockchain throughput and reduce the number of cross-shard transactions.

The objective of Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) attacks is to exploit Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) in combination with the Industrial Internet of Things (I-IoT) by using fast attack methods. Machine learning (ML) techniques have shown potential in identifying APT attacks in autonomous and malware detection systems. However, detecting hidden APT attacks in the I-IoT-enabled CPS domain and achieving real-time accuracy in detection present significant challenges for these techniques. To overcome these issues, a new approach is suggested that is based on the Graph Attention Network (GAN), a multi-dimensional algorithm that captures behavioral features along with the relevant information that other methods do not deliver. This approach utilizes masked self-attentional layers to address the limitations of prior Deep Learning (DL) methods that rely on convolutions. Two datasets, the DAPT2020 malware, and Edge I-IoT datasets are used to evaluate the approach, and it attains the highest detection accuracy of 96.97% and 95.97%, with prediction time of 20.56 seconds and 21.65 seconds, respectively. The GAN approach is compared to conventional ML algorithms, and simulation results demonstrate a significant performance improvement over these algorithms in the I-IoT-enabled CPS realm. © 2013 IEEE.

Deep Neuro-Fuzzy Inference Systems (DNFIS) seamlessly fuse neural networks with the fuzzy inference system enabling intricate decision-making and knowledge representation, while upholding a commendable degree of adaptability and interpretability. However, the challenge of privacy-preserving inference (PI) over DNFIS has remained largely uncharted, with no prior research addressing this critical issue. In this paper, we embark on an exploration of this issue. We introduce an efficient and secure PI framework for DNFIS, named PrivDNFIS, which leverages the post-quantum lattice-based homomorphic encryption to implement secure computation protocols for PI over DNFIS. Our work incorporates several non-trivial performance enhancements. Firstly, it consolidates multiple elements of input feature vectors into a single message, reducing encryption/decryption overhead. Secondly, building upon this novel encoding approach, PrivDNFIS can perform ciphertext aggregation and vector-vector inner production without necessitating time-consuming ciphertext rotation operations. Thirdly, we replace the softmax function in the DNFIS layer with a quadratic function to further enhance inference efficiency, without compromising the inference accuracy. Under the given threat model, we provide formal security proof for PrivDNFIS. In comprehensive experimental results, PrivDNFIS demonstrates an approximately 1.9 to 4.4 times reduction in end-to-end time cost compared to the benchmark. Bayesian Over-the-Air FedAvg via Channel Driven Stochastic Gradient Langevin Dynamics

The recent development of scalable Bayesian inference methods has renewed interest in the adoption of Bayesian learning as an alternative to conventional frequentist learning that offers improved model calibration via uncertainty quantification. Recently, federated averaging Langevin dynamics (FALD) was introduced as a variant of federated averaging that can efficiently implement distributed Bayesian learning in the presence of noiseless communications. In this paper, we propose wireless FALD (WFALD), a novel protocol that realizes FALD in wireless systems by integrating over-the-air computation and channel-driven sampling for Monte Carlo updates. Unlike prior work on wireless Bayesian learning, WFALD enables (i) multiple local updates between communication rounds;and (ii) stochastic gradients computed by mini-batch. A convergence analysis is presented in terms of the 2-Wasserstein distance between the samples produced by WFALD and the targeted global posterior distribution. Analysis and experiments show that, when the signal-to-noise ratio is sufficiently large, channel noise can be fully repurposed for Monte Carlo sampling, thus entailing no loss in performance. Prompting for Automatic Log Template Extraction

Log parsing, which involves log template extraction from semi-structured logs to produce structured logs, is the first and the most critical step in automated log analysis. However, current log parsers suffer from limited effectiveness for two reasons. First, traditional data-driven log parsers solely rely on heuristics or handcrafted features designed by domain experts, which may not consistently perform well on logs from diverse systems. Second, existing supervised log parsers require model tuning, which is often limited to fixed training samples and causes sub-optimal performance across the entire log source. To address this limitation, we propose DivLog, an effective log parsing framework based on the in-context learning (ICL) ability of large language models (LLMs). Specifically, before log parsing, DivLog samples a small amount of offline logs as candidates by maximizing their diversity. Then, during log parsing, DivLog selects five appropriate labeled candidates as examples for each target log and constructs them into a prompt. By mining the semantics of examples in the prompt, DivLog generates a target log template in a training-free manner. In addition, we design a straightforward yet effective prompt format to extract the output and enhance the quality of the generated log templates. We conducted experiments on 16 widely-used public datasets. The results show that DivLog achieves (1) 98.1% Parsing Accuracy, (2) 92.1% Precision Template Accuracy, and (3) 92.9% Recall Template Accuracy on average, exhibiting state-of-the-art performance. © 2023, CC BY.
