For efficient and high-fidelity local facial attribute editing, most existing editing methods either require additional finetuning for different editing effects or tend to affect beyond the editing regions. Alternatively, inpainting methods can edit the target image region while preserving external areas. However, current inpainting methods still suffer from the generation misalignment with facial attributes description and the loss of facial skin details. To address these challenges, (i) a novel data utilization strategy is introduced to construct datasets consisting of attribute-text-image triples from a data-driven perspective, (ii) a Causality-Aware Condition Adapter is proposed to enhance the contextual causality modeling of specific details, which encodes the skin details from the original image while preventing conflicts between these cues and textual conditions. In addition, a Skin Transition Frequency Guidance technique is introduced for the local modeling of contextual causality via sampling guidance driven by low-frequency alignment. Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in boosting both fidelity and editability for localized attribute editing. P2TC: A Lightweight Pyramid Pooling Transformer-CNN Network for Accurate 3D Whole Heart Segmentation

Cardiovascular disease is a leading global cause of death, requiring accurate heart segmentation for diagnosis and surgical planning. Deep learning methods have been demonstrated to achieve superior performances in cardiac structures segmentation. However, there are still limitations in 3D whole heart segmentation, such as inadequate spatial context modeling, difficulty in capturing long-distance dependencies, high computational complexity, and limited representation of local high-level semantic information. To tackle the above problems, we propose a lightweight Pyramid Pooling Transformer-CNN (P2TC) network for accurate 3D whole heart segmentation. The proposed architecture comprises a dual encoder-decoder structure with a 3D pyramid pooling Transformer for multi-scale information fusion and a lightweight large-kernel Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for local feature extraction. The decoder has two branches for precise segmentation and contextual residual handling. The first branch is used to generate segmentation masks for pixel-level classification based on the features extracted by the encoder to achieve accurate segmentation of cardiac structures. The second branch highlights contextual residuals across slices, enabling the network to better handle variations and boundaries. Extensive experimental results on the Multi-Modality Whole Heart Segmentation (MM-WHS) 2017 challenge dataset demonstrate that P2TC outperforms the most advanced methods, achieving the Dice scores of 92.6% and 88.1% in Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) modalities respectively, which surpasses the baseline model by 1.5% and 1.7%, and achieves state-of-the-art segmentation results.

Audio-visual active speaker detection (AV-ASD) aims to identify which visible face is speaking in a scene with one or more persons. Most existing AV-ASD methods prioritize capturing speech-lip correspondence. However, there is a noticeable gap in addressing the challenges from real-world AV-ASD scenarios. Due to the presence of low-quality noisy videos in such cases, AV-ASD systems without a selective listening ability are short of effectively filtering out disruptive voice components from mixed audio inputs. In this paper, we propose a Multi-modal Speaker Extraction-to-Detection framework named ‘MuSED’, which is pre-trained with audio-visual target speaker extraction to learn the denoising ability, then it is fine-tuned with the AV-ASD task. Meanwhile, to better capture the multi-modal information and deal with real-world problems such as missing modality, MuSED is modelled on the time domain directly and integrates the multi-modal plus-and-minus augmentation strategy. Our experiments demonstrate that MuSED substantially outperforms the state-of-the-art AV-ASD methods and achieves 95.6% mAP on the AVA-ActiveSpeaker dataset, 98.3% AP on the ASW dataset, and 97.9% F1 on the Columbia AV-ASD dataset, respectively. In this paper, the combination of the variable precision rough set and the limited tolerance relation under multi-granularity is explored. As an extension of rough set model, Multi-granularity variable precision limited tolerance rough set model is con-structed. Properties of upper and lower approximation operator and detailed structure of object class through threshold are discussed. The zenith tropospheric delay（ZTD） obtained by global navigation satellite system（GNSS） atmospheric sounding is a pivotal data source for water vapor monitoring. Meteorological changes in Antarctica play an important role in analysis of the global climate, but factors such as complex climatic conditions can limit the collection of meteorological data needed for ZTD retrieval. Therefore, it is necessary to establish high-precision ZTD models that do not rely on measured meteorological data. The existing global pressure and temperature 3（GPT3） model has limited ability to capture complex weather variations and cannot obtain high-precision GPT3TD. To address the above issues, this research proposes a high-precision ZTD model through using temporal convolutional network（TCN） for improving the hourly global pressure and temperature 2（HGPT2） model. The HGTP2 model based on Fourier analysis and the time-segmentation concept can consider the linear trend of climate variations, simultaneously the TCN is introduced to simulate the long-term temporal dependence of HGPT2TD, so as to achieve the goal of obtaining high-precision ZTD without relying on measured meteorological data. The experimental results show that the precision of TCNTD obtained from the proposed model is higher than GPT3TD and HGPT2TD when using the GNSSTD observations obtained from 35 stations in Antarctica as a reference, and the improvement of the model is obvious.

The sparse interactions between users and items have aggravated the difficulty of their representations in recommender systems. Existing methods leverage tags to alleviate the sparsity problem but ignore prevalent logical relations among items and tags (e.g., membership, hierarchy, and exclusion), which can be leveraged to enhance the accuracy of modeling user preferences and conducting recommendations. To this end, we propose to extract logical relations among item tags from existing tag taxonomies and exploit the individual strengths of the Poincaré and the Lorentz models in hyperbolic space for logical relation modeling towards enhanced recommendations. Moreover, we find that the logical relations directly extracted from existing tag taxonomies can be inaccurate and coarse. Therefore, we further devise innovative consistency-based and granularity- based weighting mechanisms based on user behavior patterns for data-driven logical relation mining that can be jointly optimized along with recommendations in an end-to-end fashion. Extensive experiments on four real-world benchmark datasets show drastic performance gains brought by our proposed framework, which constantly achieves an average of 8.25% improvement over state-of-the-art competitors regarding both Recall and NDCG metrics. Insightful case studies further demonstrate that our automatically refined logical relations are highly accurate and interpretable.

The passive and frequency-flat reflection of IRS, as well as the high-dimensional IRS-reflected channels, have posed significant challenges for efficient IRS channel estimation, especially in wideband communication systems with significant multi-path channel delay spread. To address these challenges, we propose a novel neural network (NN)-empowered framework for IRS channel autocorrelation matrix estimation in wideband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. This framework relies only on the easily accessible reference signal received power (RSRP) measurements at users in existing wideband communication systems, without requiring additional pilot transmission. Based on the estimates of channel autocorrelation matrix, the passive reflection of IRS is optimized to maximize the average user received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) over all subcarriers in the OFDM system. Numerical results verify that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms existing power-measurement-based IRS reflection designs in wideband channels. © 2025 IEEE.

Medical image report generation has gained significant attention as an essential task in automated diagnosis, aiming to reduce the workload of physicians and expedite the diagnostic process. However, existing methods predominantly rely on coarse-grained global features, neglecting the fine-grained regional analysis. This limitation potentially leads to the loss of crucial diagnostic information. To address this challenge, we propose the Regional-Global Interaction Network (RGI), an innovative architecture designed to provide more granular information to the model. The RGI introduces two key components: (1) a region selection agent that precisely locates and selects relevant image patches based on input regional word embeddings, and (2) a bidirectional cross-attention mechanism that fuses the selected regional features with global features. This approach enables the model to capture local details while retaining global context. Extensive experiments on the IU X-Ray dataset demonstrate that our RGI architecture significantly improves the accuracy of medical image analysis and report generation. Strain Gauge Status (SGS) recognition is crucial in the field of intelligent manufacturing based on the Internet of Things, as accurate identification helps timely detection of failed mechanical components, avoiding accidents. The loading and unloading sequences generated by strain gauges can be identified through time series classification (TSC) algorithms. Recently, deep learning models, e.g., convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have shown remarkable success in the TSC task, as they can extract discriminative local features from the subsequences to identify the time series. However, we observe only the local features may not be sufficient for expressing the time series, especially when the local sub-sequences between different time series are very similar, e.g., SGS data of aircraft wings in static strength experiments. Nevertheless, CNNs suffer from the limitation in extracting global features due to the nature of convolution operations. For extracting global features to more comprehensively represent the SGS time series, we propose two insights: (i) Constructing global features through feature engineering. (ii) Learning high-order relationships between local features to capture global features. To realize and utilize them, we propose a hypergraph-based global feature learning and fusion framework, which learns and fuses global features for semantic consistency to enhance the representation of SGS time series, thereby improving recognition accuracy. Our method designs are validated on industrial SGS and public UCR datasets, showing better generalization for unseen data in SGS recognition.

In this paper, we consider the problem of cooperative sensing via a system of multi-unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), where each UAV is equipped with a directional antenna to cooperatively perform detection tasks for several targets of interest. To measure the perception ability of the system, we choose the detection probability as the metric, aiming to maximize the sum detection probability of targets by jointly optimizing UAVs’ deployment and directional antenna orientations. To tackle the inherent nonconvexity of the formulated problem, we first decompose it into two sub-problems, i.e., a slave problem for optimizing the antenna orientations with a given UAVs’ deployment, and a master problem for optimizing the UAVs’ deployment. By virtue of the slave problem structure, an efficient block coordinate descent (BCD) algorithm is developed. Meanwhile, to deal with the lack of the closed expression of the sum detection probability with respect to the UAVs’ deployment, we further develop an iterative algorithm to acquire an efficient solution with the aid of Gibbs Sampling (GS) approach. Extensive simulations demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed algorithm.
