The HIGHT algorithm is a 64-bit block cipher with 128-bit key length, at CHES'06 as a lightweight cryptographic algorithm. In this paper, a new related-key impossible differential attack on the full-round algorithm is introduced. Our cryptanalysis requires time complexity of 2 127.276 HIGHT evaluations which is slightly faster than exhaustive search attack. This is the first related-key impossible differential cryptanalysis on the full-round HIGHT block cipher.

Two Step O 2 /N 2 O Plasma Annealing for the reduction of Leakage Current in Amorphous Ta 2 O 5 Films

As deposited tantalum pentoxide (Ta2O5) films are amorphous. The films will remain amorphous after O2 or N2O plasma annealing at low temperature. High temperature annealing will produce polycrystalline films where grain boundaries can generate leakage current. Previously, we have shown that N2O plasma annealing is superior to O2 plasma annealing in terms of leakage current reduction for AI/Ta2O5/Si capacitors. However, for TiN/Ta2O5/Si capacitors, the leakage current tends to be higher at low bias voltage for N2O plasma annealing compared to O2 plasma annealing. By adding an 02 plasma annealing step and then comparing TiN/Ta2O5/Si capacitors with two step O2/N2O plasma annealing with respect to similar structures with two step O2/O2 plasma annealing, it can be easily seen that TiN/Ta2O5/Si capacitors with two step O2/N2O plasma annealing have lower leakage current compared to similar structures with two step O2/O2 plasma annealing throughtout the voltage range tested.

This article demonstrates results and experiences gained in the area of multilayer internetworking, with emphasis on bandwidth on-demand provisioning as well as resource and restoration management. Behavioral characteristics and numerical results were obtained from a management system prototype implemented and tested in an appropriately adapted commercial WdM environment enhanced with multivendor gigabit IP routers. The management solution, the testbed environment, and a representative evaluation scenario are presented as a means of explaining in detail the results that finally allow a global system assessment.

This paper describes a distributed video transcoding system that can transcode an MPEG-2 video file into various video coding formats with different rates, and its application to grid delivery of video. The transcoder divides the MPEG-2 file into small segments along the time axis and transcodes them in parallel at transcoding nodes. To cope with heterogeneity and time-varying performance of transcoding processors in grid computing environment, dynamic scheduling algorithm is proposed. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed dynamic scheduling algorithm can decrease total transcoding time by 30% in uniform performance fluctuation environment, compared with static scheduling.

Influence of human engineering on manning levels and human performance on ships

He is a graduate of the Naval Sea Systems Command's Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Program. Mr. Anderson was instrumental in introducing the collective protection system (CPS) in the U.S. Navy developing the initial forward-fit package for the USS Gunston Hall and the engineering change proposal (ECP) for the USS Wasp. In 1990 he joined the Human Systems Integration (HSI) Division (SEA 55W5) where he was task leader for auxiliary ships. He is currently the HSI manager for the future technology variant of the SeaLift ship and the future carrier. Association of Scientists and Engineers 33rdAnnual Technical Symposium 26 April 1996. Fred R. The objectives of Human Engineering (HE) are generally viewed as increasing human performance, reducing human error, enhancing personnel and equipment safety, and reducing training and related personnel costs. There are other benefits that are thoroughly consistent with the direction of the Navy of the future, chief among these is reduction of required numbers of personnel to operate and maintain Navy ships. The Naval research Advisory Committee (NrAC) report on Man-Machine technology in the Navy estimated that one of the benefits from increased application of man-machine technology to Navy ship design is personnel reduction as well as improving system availability, effectiveness, and safety The objective of this paper is to discuss aspects of the human engineering design of ships and systems that affect manning requirements, and impact human-performance and safety The paper will also discuss how the application of human engineering leads to improved performance, and crew safety, and reduced workload, all of which influence manning levels. Finally, the paper presents a discussion of tools and case studies of good human engineering design practices which reduce manning.

In chemoinformatics and medicinal chemistry, machine learning has evolved into an important approach. In recent years, increasing computational resources and new deep learning algorithms have put machine learning onto a new level, addressing previously unmet challenges in pharmaceutical research. In silico approaches for compound activity predictions, de novo design, and reaction modeling have been further advanced by new algorithmic developments and the emergence of big data in the field. Herein, novel applications of machine learning and deep learning in chemoinformatics and medicinal chemistry are reviewed. Opportunities and challenges for new methods and applications are discussed, placing emphasis on proper baseline comparisons, robust validation methodologies, and new applicability domains.
