Consistency regularization and pseudo-labeling have significantly advanced semi-supervised learning (SSL). Prior works have effectively employed Mixup for consistency regularization in SSL. However, our findings indicate that applying Mixup for consistency regularization may degrade SSL performance by compromising the purity of artificial labels. Moreover, most pseudo-labeling based methods utilize thresholding strategy to exclude low-confidence data, aiming to mitigate confirmation bias;however, this approach limits the utility of unlabeled samples. To address these challenges, we propose RegMixMatch, a novel framework that optimizes the use of Mixup with both high- and low-confidence samples in SSL. First, we introduce semi-supervised RegMixup, which effectively addresses reduced artificial labels purity by using both mixed samples and clean samples for training. Second, we develop a class-aware Mixup technique that integrates information from the top-2 predicted classes into low-confidence samples and their artificial labels, reducing the confirmation bias associated with these samples and enhancing their effective utilization. Experimental results demonstrate that RegMixMatch achieves state-of-the-art performance across various SSL benchmarks. Cloud workloads prediction plays a crucial role in the various tasks of cloud computing, such as resource scheduling, performance optimization, cost management, etc. However, current time series prediction methods suffer instability and inefficiency issues when addressing cloud workloads, due to the high variability of workload patterns and the high fluctuation within a workload. To address these issues, we propose DeIP4CW, a Self-Decoupled Interpretable Prediction framework for highly-variable Cloud Workloads. It can accurately forecast future job arrival rates in a cloud environment. The core idea of DeIP4CW is to first introduce the periodic and residual states as hidden variables to decouple complicated dependencies in cloud workload signals. Then it adopts a deep expansion learning framework with the block structure to perform workload prediction layer by layer. Each block consists of some periodic modules and some compensation modules. The periodic module with a self-attention mechanism can effectively capture the global trend of cloud workload, while the compensation module is employed to compensate for the local volatility information. Moreover, our two customized modules also have interpretable abilities, such as attributing the predictions to either global trends or local compensation. We conduct extensive experiments on the real-world cloud workload traces to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed DeIP4CW. The experimental results demonstrate the DeIP4CW achieves significant improvements over the best baseline in most cases, and the error reduction can even reach up to 20.66%. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the explosion of ChatGPT, the development of artificial intelligence technology ushered in another explosion. Similarly, with the rapid development of extended reality technology and Internet of Things technology, Metaverse will also usher in greater breakthroughs. However, in the development of the extended reality metaverse under edge computing, many security issues will arise. This paper focuses on data security, considering that data will be transmitted and processed between multiple devices and nodes instead of being concentrated in the cloud, which may bring To solve data security issues, relying on the integrated architecture of Metaverse educational applications based on edge computing (MEC), it provides an identity verification and access with higher security and scalability, better performance, and service requirements that meet the current environment Control mechanism solutions, while analyzing other problems that will arise during the development of the extended reality metaverse. Aiming at the security problem on the edge side, a signature authentication scheme is designed based on Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) integrated blockchain encryption technology and the effectiveness of the method is proved. In named entity recognition, the main methods for constructing deep neural networks are fine-tuning and prompt tuning. Fine-tuning is a commonly used paradigm to optimize neural networks by using task-specific objective functions to make them more adapted to solve downstream tasks. In which pre-trained language models are used as external resources to provide contextual representations. Prompt tuning is a recent paradigm in which the downstream tasks are reformulated to look more like those solved during the original PLM training with the help of a textual prompt. It is effective to utilize potential knowledge of PLMs. In this paper, we propose the fusion approach, which sufficiently fuses the semantics obtained by extracting fine-tuning and prompt-tuning. In our approach, the model makes decisions based on the information obtained from the reconstructive fusion of the fine-tuned semantics and the semantics of the pre-trained language model. The representation obtained by fine-tuning and the representation obtained by prompt tuning are reconstructed into a multidimensional semantics using a gate fusion module (GFM). In particularly, our model has two gate components, one gate to extract the semantics of fine-tuning and the other gate to extract the semantics of prompt tuning, and finally the reconstructed semantic representation is obtained. This takes full advantage of the potential knowledge of PLM. Our model is evaluated on the CONLL2003, ACE2005 and GENIA corpora. In recent years, gestures have been widely used in many fields. For example, human-computer interaction, virtual reality, gesture translation, etc. The reason for its rapid development is due to the emergence of deep learning and artificial intelligence under today’s society. Due to dynamic gestural interactions, such large intelligent models are often characterized by many parameters, large sample size, frequent parameter updates, and high communication volume. Based on this feature, we propose a cloud-based edge design architecture approach for gesture recognition based on an improved YOLOv5 network model optimization by changing different gestures, background interference, which uses a 21-layer model for the neural network. With the use of edge intelligence, the computational accuracy can be improved by 10.6% over the traditional YOLOv5 with a MAP value of 93.3%. The final recall rate is also improved by 3.6%. The parameter model is only 43.6% of the original one. This shows the practicality and operability of using edge computing as a technique in gesture recognition, as well as the small improvement cost and obvious effect. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

To address the problem that the classification and cleaning of garbage in city streets is always ineffective nowadays, the paper proposes a garbage detection method based on edge intelligence. The edge intelligence not only reduces the computational load of the cloud and speeds up the data transmission, but also greatly reduces the data transmission cost. First, images of city streets are collected and uploaded to the edge device via mobile devices in various locations in the city. Then, the edge server is used to temporarily store the image information, and the PeleeNet model deployed on it is used to identify and classify various kinds of garbage, and then visualize the information of each street. Finally, the street garbage information is transmitted to the cloud, which provides a detailed picture of the city’s garbage situation and facilitates city management. In this paper, the PeleeNet model is compared with ResNet, DenseNet and MobileNet models. The results show that the edge devices equipped with PeleeNet model not only have the fastest computation speed and the highest accuracy, but also occupy the least memory. The refinement and intelligent control of shield tunneling is the development trend of modern tunnel construction technology. In order to better predict and control the surface subsidence caused by shield excavation, this paper takes the shield construction of Luoyang Metro Line 2 from Longmen Station to Longmen Avenue Station as the background, and proposes a method based on edge intelligence for shield construction in water-rich sand egg strata. Methods for predicting land subsidence. First, low latency and faster data processing are achieved by collecting a large amount of data containing dynamic information about geological conditions and surrounding environments during the shield tunneling process;then using the iFogSim simulator to create different configurations;second, establishing support A surface subsidence model based on vector regression was established, and the model was deployed on the edge equipment;finally, the model was evaluated using the monitoring data of surface subsidence of the water-rich sand egg formation in Luoyang area. The research results show that the edge computing-based system has lower latency and higher processing speed than only deploying cloud data centers. After Pearson-related parameter tuning and model comparison training with Linear as the kernel function, the mean square error of the predicted value and the collected value of the surface subsidence is better than the other two kernel functions. The method proposed in this paper can provide real-time prediction service for large-scale surface subsidence prediction caused by shield construction, and is more practical. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

The metaverse originated from science fiction at first, but it gradually came into reality with the continuous power of technology. Aiming at the problems of course work in Chinese universities, such as its function is weakened or suppressed, its form is too abstract, and it lacks elaborate design, this paper proposes a design method of course work meta-universe based on extended reality under edge computing. XR technology is used to realize the interactive immersion of the coursework meta-universe, in order to improve students’ learning enthusiasm and ability to solve abstract problems. Based on the international perspective, this paper systematically combs and analyzes the integration architecture, application scenarios and future trends of the meta-universe education application based on Edge computing (MEC). Four key processes are described: teacher-student interaction, data collection, data feedback and comprehensive evaluation. In order to promote the application of the metaverse in the field of education to provide mirror. Convolutional neural network (CNN)-based methods have been extensively used for remote sensing scene classification (RSSC) and have obtained remarkable classification results. However, its limitations in extracting global features have hindered further improvement. Transformers can directly capture global features through self-attention mechanisms, but they have deficiencies in modeling local features. Currently, an approach that directly combines CNN and Transformer features may lead to feature imbalance, and introduce redundant information. To address these problems, we propose a local and global feature adaptive adjustment network (LGFAANet) for RSSC. First, we employ a dual-branch network structure to extract local and global features from remote sensing scene images. Second, we design a local and global feature adaptive adjustment module (LGFAA) to dynamically allocate weights to the features. Third, we use a multi-layer feature aggregation module (MLFA) to aggregate the adjusted features, thereby further enhancing feature representation. Finally, we introduce joint loss to accelerate network convergence, while reducing intra-class distance and increasing inter-class distance. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method displays enhanced feature representation ability and outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods.

Ceramic tiles are one of the most indispensable materials for interior *** ceramic patterns can’t match the design requirements in terms of diversity and interactivity due to their natural *** this paper,we propose a sketch-based generation method for generating diverse ceramic tile images based on a hand-drawn sketches using Generative Adversarial Network(GAN).The generated tile images can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the user for the tile *** proposed method consists of four ***,a dataset of ceramic tile images with diverse distributions is created and then pre-trained based on ***,for each ceramic tile image in the dataset,the corresponding sketch image is generated and then the mapping relationship between the images is trained based on a sketch extraction network using ResNet Block and jump connection to improve the quality of the generated ***,the sketch style is redefined according to the characteristics of the ceramic tile images and then double cross-domain adversarial loss functions are employed to guide the ceramic tile generation network for fitting in the direction of the sketch style and to improve the training ***,we apply hidden space perturbation and interpolation for further enriching the output textures style and satisfying the concept of“one style with multiple faces”.We conduct the training process of the proposed generation network on 2583 ceramic tile images *** measure the generative diversity and quality,we use Frechet Inception Distance(FID)and Blind/Referenceless Image Spatial Quality Evaluator(BRISQUE)*** experimental results prove that the proposed model greatly enhances the generation results of the ceramic tile images,with FID of 32.47 and BRISQUE of 28.44.
