High-accuracy waterline mapping with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images is a challenging task because of the inhomogeneities of SAR imagery caused by the speckle noise and complex terrain. This paper presents a novel method for waterline mapping with subpixel accuracy. The proposed method mainly consists of three steps. Firstly, an improved Non-Local filter is adapted to suppress the speckle noise. Secondly, a Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm is used to extract the pixel-level waterline. Thirdly, along the pixel-level waterline, a novel subpixel-scale waterline extraction method based on bicubic convolution and Geometric Active Contour (GAC) model is presented to further improve the accuracy of the waterline. Without loss of generality, the Danjiangkou reservoir (DJKR), which is the largest artificial freshwater lake in Asia, is selected as a study case. SAR images from Chinese GaoFen-3 (GF-3) satellite working on different modes are processed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2019 IEEE.

Spectral clustering is one of the most popular modern clustering algorithms. It is easy to implement, can be solved efficiently, and very often outperforms other traditional clustering algorithms such as k-means. However, pectral clustering would be insufficient when dealing with most datasets which have complex statistical properties and quires the user to specify the number of clusters (called k). To address these two problems, in this paper, we propose an approach to extending spectral clustering with deep embedding and estimation of the number of clusters. Specifically, we first generate the deep embedding via learning a deep autoencoder, which transforms the raw data into the lower dimensional representations that suitable for clustering. We then provide an effective method to estimate the number of clusters by learning a softmax autoencoder from the deep embedding. We finally extend spectral clustering with the learned embedding and the estimated number. An extensive experimental study on several image and text datasets illustrates the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach.

This paper presents the first H i results extracted from the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) MeerKAT Galactic Plane Survey (SMGPS) - a narrow strip (Δb ∼3°) along the southern Milky Way. The primary goal consisted in tracing the great attractor (GA) wall across the innermost zone of avoidance. We reduced a segment spanning the longitude range 302° 332 for the redshift range z ≤ 0.08. The superb SMGPS sensitivity (rms = 0.3-0.5 mJy beam-1 per 44 km s-1 channel) and angular resolution (∼31″ × 26″) lead to a detection limit of log(MH i/M·) ≥ 8.5 at the GA distance (km s-1). A total of 477 galaxy candidates were identified over the full redshift range. A comparison of the few H i detections with counterparts in the literature (mostly HIZOA) found the H i fluxes and other H i parameters to be highly consistent. The continuation of the GA wall is confirmed through a prominent overdensity of N = 214 detections in the GA distance range. At higher latitudes, the wall moves to higher redshifts, supportive of a possible link with the Ophiuchus cluster located behind the Galactic Bulge. This deep interferometric H i survey demonstrates the power of the SMGPS in improving our insight of large-scale structures at these extremely low latitudes, despite the high obscuration and continuum background. © 2024 The Author(s). Capacity analysis of ship-tugging operations in a large container port

In this study, we deal with the simulation problem of ship-tugging operations in a large container port. First, we build a tugboat-service network using a directed graph, where the nodes consist of tugboat bases, anchorages, and berths while the arcs represent the directed links between nodes. Second, we develop a marine traffic simulation system, which can simulate maritime traffic conditions in restricted waters, such as large container ports and busy straits. The marine traffic simulation system is a customized system. Users are allowed to set their study areas and virtual traffic environment (such as traffic demand and network structure) at will. Finally, we conduct various simulations for a real tugboat-service network of Singapore Port, which includes one anchorage, one tugboat base, two berths, and two channels between the anchorage and berths. A detailed analysis of the tugging capacity is provided based on simulation results. © 2020 The Authors

Practical adaptive time-varying output formation tracking problems for high-order nonlinear strict-feedback multiagent systems are investigated in this paper. The time-varying output formation tracking requires the followers' output vectors to track the output vector of the leader while achieving a time-varying formation. The dynamics of the leader and the followers can have uncertain mismatched nonlinearities while the leader's control input is also unknown. To deal with the mismatched nonlinearities, the backstepping techniques are utilized to construct the protocols. Firstly, visual controllers are designed to overcome the effects of the uncertainties while guaranteeing the stability of each layer. The complicated visual controllers are estimated by the neural networks. A full adaptive protocol is constructed with adaptive gains to avoid using the global information of the interaction topology. Then, an algorithm is presented to design the protocol, whose parameters are much less. Besides, the stability of the algorithm is proved by Lyapunov theories. Finally, simulation results are presented to prove the effectiveness.

Automated electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis for arrhythmia detection plays a critical role in early prevention and diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. In this paper, we proposed a novel end-to-end deep learning method for multiclass arrhythmia detection with multiple stage features fusion. The network is composed of multiple convolution and attention module. Specifically, we use skip connection operation to fuse different levels of features extracted at different stages for target task processing. And the channel-wise attention modules are adopted for effectively extracting the features learned at the different stages. By combining the attention module and convolutional neural network, the discrimination power of the network for ECG classification is improved. We demonstrate the proposed method for ECG classification on an open ECG dataset and compare it with some state-of-the-art methods, which achieves an average F1-score of 81.3% in classification of 8 types of arrhythmias and sinus rhythm. The experimental results convince the efficiency of the proposed method.

To support semantic inter-operability between the biomedical information systems, it is necessary to determine the correspondences between the heterogeneous biomedical concepts, which is commonly known as biomedical ontology matching. Biomedical concepts are usually complex and ambiguous, which makes matching biomedical ontologies a challenge. Since none of the similarity measures can distinguish the heterogeneous biomedical concepts in any context independently, usually several similarity measures are applied together to determine the biomedical concepts mappings. However, the ignorance of the effects brought about by different biomedical concept mapping’s preference on the similarity measures significantly reduces the alignment’s quality. In this study, a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA)-III-based biomedical ontology matching technique is proposed to effectively match the biomedical ontologies, which first utilises an ontology partitioning technique to transform the large-scale biomedical ontology matching problem into several ontology segment-matching problems, and then uses NSGA-III to determine the optimal alignment without tuning the aggregating weights. The experiment is conducted on the anatomy track and large biomedic ontologies track which are provided by the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI), and the comparisons with OAEI’s participants show the effectiveness of the authors’ approach.

This paper studied the relationships between utilization ratios and conversion rates of nitrogen,phosphorus and potassium for wheat by data mining method based on data of"3414 fertilizer field trials"of wheat by published papers from national soil testing and recommendation since *** results and conclusions were as follows:①the conceptual model of fertilizer utilization ratio of wheat for plot was that,Y N≈a+b×optimum nitrogen application amount+c×optimum fertilizer amount of K+d×rainfall in growth season,Y P≈a+b×optimum fertilizer amount of K+c×rainfall in growth season,Y K≈a+b×temperature in growth season+c×rainfall in growth season-d×optimum yield-e×optimum nitrogen application amount,respectively.②Fertilizer utilization ratio and nutrient conversion rate had 4 kinds of *** significant relationships:13,of which 8 were soil nutrients,the results showed that soil nutrients had little effect on nutrient conversion rate and fertilizer utilization ratio;consistent significant relationships:4,they were all nitrogen and phosphorus,explaining the importance of nitrogen and phosphorus;contrary significant relationships:6,they were all nitrogen and phosphorus,illustrating that phosphorus and nitrogen had inhibitory effect;complementary significant relationships:31,the cause of the complementary phenomenon was that the fertilizer utilization ratio was the measuring index of fertilizer efficiency in one season,while the nutrient conversion rate was the measuring index of fertilizer efficiency in more *** showed that the fertilizer utilization rate was significantly correlated,or the nutrient conversion rate was significantly correlated.

In this paper,the index system of ecological balanced fertilization for rice was discussed by data mining method based on this *** aspects of provincial average,typical province and all samples were studied,and the results and conclusions were as follows:①climate condition was one of the main factors of soil formation,which was also an important basis for the division of rice growing *** proportion of available nutrients was different in different rice growing *** was the result of long-term climate and man-made action,which constituted the basic fertility pattern of soil available nutrients for rice in China.②One of the basic fertility indexes of rice soil in China was the proportion of available nutrients,which was the theoretical basis for adjusting the proportion of N,P and K fertilizers.③Although the total amount and proportion of available nutrients in different rice growing areas were different,they can be adjusted to the optimum absorption ratio of rice by fertilizing measures,so as to achieve the goal of ecological balanced fertilization such as high production and good quality.④The basic soil nutrient index of more than 8000 kg/hm 2 of rice production was more than 5 of available K/available P.
