Synapses are the special connection structure between brain neurons, and they are the core element of brain plasticity and information transmission. In order to better understand the process of brain information transmission, it is necessary to quantitatively calculate the synapse, but the automatic identification of a large range of synaptic images is still a difficult problem. According to the characteristics of synaptic signal in microscopy optical mouse brain images, this paper proposes the automatic fast synapse recognition method based on density peak clustering, which solves the identification problem of dense small synaptic signal, and realizes the rapid synapse positioning and counting in a large brain area. The results show that the proposed methods in accuracy and efficiency bring great convenience to the researchers. CCS CONCEPTSĝ€¢Applied computing © 2022 ACM.

The legal judgement prediction (LJP) of judicial texts represents a multi-label text classification (MLTC) problem, which in turn involves three distinct tasks: the prediction of charges, legal articles, and terms of penalty. Nevertheless, extant multi-label text classification models tend to eschew the consideration of multiple correlations and semantic information between labels when predicting judicial texts, which may result in the loss of pertinent information. Furthermore, these models do not take full advantage of the local and overall information of the labels in the process of selecting appropriate labels for the text using the multi-head attention mechanism. To address these issues, we propose a new model, BGFLFF, which explores label correlation and semantics among the three tasks by employing Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) and multi-head attention mechanisms. In particular, we propose a Bi-Graph Fusion GCN (BGF-GCN), which fuses the co-occurrence matrix of labels with the cosine similarity matrix, thereby fully exploiting the multiple correlations between labels. Furthermore, prior to embedding the tags, the interpretations of the labels are obtained via Google in order to enhance the semantic information between the labels. To further reinforce the interconnections between labels and text and more effectively comprehend the interrelationships between the three tasks, we propose a Multi-Head Label Feature Fusion Attentional Mechanism (MH-LFFAtt), which assigns distinct weights to the pertinent label information in the text by fusing the local and overall features of the labels. The experimental results demonstrate that the F1 score exhibits an improvement of up to 2. 2 8 % and a minimum of 1. 2 9 % across the various tasks of the two datasets. This evidence substantiates the assertion that BGFLFF outperforms the existing baseline model. © 2024 IEEE.

Diffusion MRI (dMRI) is widely used for the detection and diagnosis of various pathologies due to its non-invasive nature. However, its signal acquisition process is relatively slow and susceptible to motions. In order to accelerate reconstruction process, many deep learning-based methods have been developed in recent years to achieve promising results, while most of them are supervised based methods and require fully sampled data which are difficult to obtain in practical applications to train the network. Self-supervised based methods were proposed to deal with this problem to a certain extent, however, they are devoted only to conventional MRI data, ignoring the correlation between the directions of dMRI data. To address this issue, we propose a self-supervised fast reconstruction method for dMRI based on multi-directional assistance. The method better utilizes the information between dMRI data directions by Partition-Replace operation, cleverly constructing data pairs and designing effective self-supervised strategy for bi-directional prediction, which can overcome the problem of data incompleteness and guide the model to reconstruct unsampled signals in spite of the difficulty of acquiring fully sampled data. Experimental results show that our method achieves better reconstruction in the absence of fully sampled data, even with an 8-fold acceleration factor. © 2024 IEEE.

Although the containers are featured by light-weightness, it is still resource-consuming to pull and startup a large container image, especially in relatively resource-constrained edge cloud. Fortunately, Docker, as the most widely used container, provides a unique layered architecture that allows the same layer to be shared between microservices so as to lower the deployment cost. Meanwhile, it is highly desirable to deploy dependent microservices of an application together to lower the operation cost. Therefore, the balancing of microservice deployment cost and the operation cost should be considered comprehensively to achieve minimal overall cost of an on-demand application. In this paper, we first formulate this problem into a Quadratic Integer Programming form (QIP) and prove it as a NP-hard problem. We further propose a Randomized Rounding-based Microservice Deployment and Layer Pulling (RR-MDLP) algorithm with low computation complexity and guaranteed approximation ratio. Through extensive experiments, we verify the high efficiency of our algorithm by the fact that it significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art microservice deployment strategies. © 2023 IEEE.

Since its introduction over five years ago, time series chain has become a fundamental tool for time series analytics, finding diverse uses in dozens of domains. Recent work has generalized the definition of time series chain, and introduced a novel definition of time series chain with directionality and graduality characteristics (TSC-DG) which can significantly enhance both robustness and usability of the original time series chain. However, previous studies on TSCDG process fixed-length time series. In this work, we focus on the issue of all-chain set with direction and graduality characteristics (all-TSCS-DG) mining over streaming time series for the first time, where all-TSCS-DG is the core of current TSCDG researches. We propose an improved Naive algorithm (IN) to solve this problem. Compared to the Naive, the IN guarantees the same space costs and results firstly, secondly is the IN takes two additional optimal strategies to further improve the time efficiency. The basic ideas of these two strategies are both incremental computing. The first one can make the IN update the IB structure at each time-tick incrementally, where the IB is an important data structure that is used to obtain the all-TSCS-DG. The second one makes the IN obtain mining results at current time-tick based on the ones at the last time-tick incrementally. Extensive experiments on real dataset demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the IN. © 2022 IEEE.

Control Logic Routing for Continuous-Flow Microfluidic Biochips Based on Deep Reinforcement Learning

With the advancement of electronic design automation, continuous-flow microfluidic biochips have become one of the most promising platforms for biochemical experiments. This chip manipulates fluid samples in milliliters or nanoliters by utilizing internal microvalves and microchannels, and thus automatically performs basic biochemical experiments, such as mixing and detection. To achieve the correct bioassay function, the microvalves deployed inside the chip are usually managed by a multiplexer-based control logic, and valves receive control signals from a core input through the control channel for accurate switching. Since biochemical reactions typically require high sensitivity, the length of control paths connecting each valve needs to be reduced to ensure immediate signal propagation, and thus to reduce the signal propagation delay. In addition, to reduce the fabrication cost of chips, a vital issue to be addressed in the logic architecture design is how to effectively reduce the total channel length within the control logic. To address the above issues, we propose a deep reinforcement learning-based control logic routing algorithm to minimize the signal propagation delay and total control channel length, thereby automatically constructing an efficient control channel network. The algorithm employs the dueling deep Q-network architecture as the agent of the deep reinforcement learning framework to evaluate the tradeoff between signal propagation delay and total channel length. Besides, the diagonal channel routing is implemented for the first time for control logic, thus fundamentally improving the efficiency of valve switching operations and reducing the fabrication cost of the chip. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can effectively construct a high-performance and low-cost control logic architecture. © 2025 Science Press. All rights reserved.

Intellectual property transactions have shown a strong growth momentum in recent years, but the patent transaction market has been plagued by the matching degree of consumers and sellers, resulting in frequent problems such as low patent transformation efficiency and poor transaction quality. This paper proposes a method of recommending patents to consumers by experts to improve the environment of patent transactions. Through the analysis of the past transaction information of the patent, the effective path information of the target is extracted. The graph neural network is used to describe the characteristics and semantics among experts, patents and consumers, and then capture the potential weight among them through the common attention mechanism, and then dynamically integrate them to predict the occurrence of recommendation behavior. The paper makes reasonable use of social information and expert information in the transaction, which significantly improves the rationality and accuracy of expert recommendation. © 2023 IEEE.

Dispatcher: Resource-aware Nakamoto Blockchain via Hierarchical Topology and Adaptive Incentives

Mainstream blockchain systems such as Bitcoin and Ethereum are revolutionizing the financial industry by adopting the Nakamoto consensus protocol, i.e., Proof-of-Work (PoW). Only nodes with sufficient computing resources can work out the PoW difficulties, thereby increasing the mining cost of malicious attackers and ensuring the security of blockchain systems. Such an assumption of having abundant resources leads to drawbacks of low throughput and risk of centralization. In this article, we present Dispatcher, a novel distributed consensus protocol that takes resource heterogeneity into account to ensure resource-aware PoW with high efficiency. Dispatcher introduces a hierarchical topology to offer flexible PoW difficulties tailored for different nodes’ resources. In particular, it utilizes the limited resource of each node to jointly maximize the performance by concurrent mining. Moreover, we design an adaptive incentive mechanism to fit the available resource of blockchain nodes to rewards. Our experiments show that Dispatcher enjoys a substantial performance margin over the state-of-the-art. We can achieve a 50% throughput improvement compared with OHIE.

Topic detection is an information processing technology designed to help people deal with the growing problem of data information on the Internet. In the research literature, topic detection methods are used for topic classification through word embedding, supervised-based and unsupervised-based approaches. However, most methods for topic detection only address the problem of clustering and do not focus on the problem of topic detection accuracy reduction due to the cohesiveness of topics. Also, the sequence of biterm during topic detection can cause substantial deviations in the detected topic content. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a topic detection method based on KM-LSH fusion algorithm and improved BTM model. KM-LSH fusion algorithm is a fusion algorithm that combines K-means clustering and LSH refinement clustering. The proposed method can solve the problem of cohesiveness of topic detection, and the improved BTM model can solve the influence of the sequence of biterm on topic detection. First, the text vector is constructed by processing the collected set of microblog texts using text preprocessing methods. Secondly, the KM-LSH fusion algorithm is used to calculate text similarity and perform topic clustering and refinement. Finally, the improved BTM model is used to model the texts, which is combined with the word position and the improved TF-IDF weight calculation algorithm to adjust the microblogging texts in clustering. The experiment results indicate that the proposed KM-LSH-IBTM method improves the evaluation indexes compared with the other three topic detection methods. In conclusion, the proposed KM-LSH-IBTM method promotes the processing capability of topic detection in terms of cohesiveness and the sequence of biterm. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Questionnaire survey systems are a kind of computer-aided survey tool, which are helpful for the questionnaire publisher to collect the opinions and appeals of the respondents. Nevertheless, it is difficult for the questionnaire publisher to solve tricky questions such as respondents’ inactivity in answering questions, especially in the subjective questionnaire. The paper extends the privacy-friendly incentive protocols of Camenisch et al. based on the technique of signatures of knowledge and the Au-Susilo-Mu signature and put forward a subjective questionnaire system oriented to professional course teaching. The new system controls the range of participants by specific attributes. It also allows participants to remain anonymous at all phases, so they can truly feedback on their subjective evaluations. Moreover, when students are not within the scope of the survey, they are encouraged to help to review the collected subjective questionnaire answers. Furthermore, the new system introduces a token mechanism to stimulate students’ participation. Security analysis shows that the new system satisfies correctness, balance, anonymity, and unlinkability. © 2023 SPIE.
