With the development of virtual reality technology, data gloves began to widely popularize various fields. Some of the force feedback data gloves at this stage still have problems such as high cost and complex structure. The mechanical force feedback data glove proposed in this paper uses the principle of mechanical rotation, using a potentiometer as the rotating shaft and a nylon rope to drive the potentiometer to rotate, so that it records the relevant data instead of sensors, and uses a servo to bring force feedback experience. Experiments indicate that the force feedback glove in this paper has both the force feedback effect of the existing force feedback data gloves and is lower in cost than the existing data gloves and has good generalizability.

With the increasing population of drivers and the popularity of intelligent cars, traffic safety is becoming more concerned. Aiming to reduce the probability of road accidents, many works have explored how to provide an early warning when the distances between the current car (or the in-car camera) and vehicles ahead are dangerous. In this paper, benefiting from the robust pixel-level understanding of cutting-edge deep networks, we introduce a vehicle segmentation method based on monocular vision, detecting vehicles in front of the current one and generating a segmentation mask for each vehicle instance detected. Instead of concentrating our efforts on measuring distance precisely, we categorize distances into three classes (“near”, “medium”, and “far”), which are pretty enough for an early collision warning. Our model is trained and evaluated on our hand-made dataset, after which we transfer and deploy it onto an Android TV virtual machine to test its performance. All the results we got show that our method does a good job in vehicle segmentation with coarse distance estimation, being applicable to aided driving.

In Stack Overflow, a question and its answers are defined as a knowledge unit. These knowledge units can be linked together for different purposes, which typically subdivided into four classes: Duplicate, Directly linkable, Indirectly linkable, and Isolated. Developers usually use these linkable knowledge units to search for more targeted information. Prior studies have found that deep learning or SVM technique can effectively predict the class of linkable knowledge units. However, they focus on short-distance semantic relationship but fail to capture global information (semantic relationship between a word and all the words in the same knowledge unit) and ignore joint semantics (semantic relationship between a word with all the words in different knowledge units). To address the issues, we propose a Self-Attention-based contextual semantic aware Linkable Knowledge prediction model (SALKU). SALKU leverages self-attention to pay attention to all the words in a knowledge unit and fully capture the global information needed for each word, then utilizes a variant of self-attention to extract joint semantics between two knowledge units. Experiment results on an existing dataset show that SALKU out-performs the state-of-the-art approaches CNN, Tuning SVM, and Soft-cos SVM in terms of three metrics, respectively. Additionally, SALKU is faster than the three baseline approaches.

Evolutionary multitasking algorithms use information exchange among individuals in a population to solve multiple optimization problems simultaneously. Negative transfer is a critical factor that affects the performance of evolutionary multitasking algorithms. In this study, we propose an innovative approach to mitigate negative transfer in evolutionary multitasking algorithms. The proposed approach is grounded in rigorous theoretical analysis, which provides valuable theoretical insights into the design of an optimal linear crossover operator for mitigating negative transfer. By identifying interpretable conditions, we establish a solid theoretical foundation to prevent negative transfer in diverse scenarios. Building upon these findings, we theoretically derive a closed-form expression for the optimal crossover operator and propose practical design methods based on approximations. Furthermore, we integrate the proposed optimal crossover operator into a fundamental evolutionary multitasking algorithm framework. The resultant algorithm is comparable or superior to other state-of-the-art methods. Empirical validation through comprehensive experiments confirms the effectiveness of our theoretical findings. © 1997-2012 IEEE.

The emergence of the fifth-generation (5G) New Radio (NR) technology has provided unprecedented opportunities for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) networks, enabling enhanced quality of services. However, high-mobility V2X networks require frequent handovers and acquiring accurate channel state information (CSI) necessitates the utilization of pilot signals, leading to increased overhead and reduced communication throughput. To address this challenge, integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) techniques have been employed at the base station (gNB) within vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) networks, aiming to minimize overhead and improve spectral efficiency. In this study, we propose novel frame structures that incorporate ISAC signals for three crucial stages in the NR-V2X system: initial access, connected mode, and beam failure and recovery. These new frame structures employ 75% fewer pilots and reduce reference signals by 43.24%, capitalizing on the sensing capability of ISAC signals. Through extensive link-level simulations, we demonstrate that our proposed approach enables faster beam establishment during initial access, higher throughput and more precise beam tracking in connected mode with reduced overhead, and expedited detection and recovery from beam failures. Furthermore, the numerical results obtained from our simulations showcase enhanced spectrum efficiency, improved communication performance and minimal overhead, validating the effectiveness of the proposed ISAC-based techniques in NR V2I networks. Face forgery detection (FFD) is devoted to detecting the authenticity of face images. Although current CNN-based works achieve outstanding performance in FFD, they are susceptible to capturing local forgery patterns generated by various manipulation methods. Though transformer-based detectors exhibit improvements in modeling global dependencies, they are not good at exploring local forgery artifacts. Hybrid transformer-based networks are designed to capture local and global manipulated traces, but they tend to suffer from the attention collapse issue as the transformer block goes deeper. Besides, soft labels are rarely available. In this paper, we propose a distilled transformer network (DTN) to capture both rich local and global forgery traces and learn general and common representations for different forgery faces. Specifically, we design a mixture of expert (MoE) module to mine various robust forgery embeddings. Moreover, a locally-enhanced vision transformer (LEVT) module is proposed to learn locally-enhanced global representations. We design a lightweight multi-attention scaling (MAS) module to avoid attention collapse, which can be plugged and played in any transformer-based models with only a slight increase in computational costs. In addition, we propose a deepfake self-distillation (DSD) scheme to provide the model with abundant soft label information. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method surpasses the state of the arts on five deepfake datasets. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Cloud-fog automation architecture has propelled the advancement of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), significantly enhancing production efficiency and intelligence through extensive data collection and connectivity. Simultaneously, industrial cyber-physical system leverages this data to achieve intelligent control and optimization of production processes. As industrial production becomes increasingly specialized and complex, independent operations within a single domain are no longer sufficient to meet demands, making cross-domain collaborative production inevitable. Consequently, ensuring the security of cross-domain communication and data sharing has become a critical issue for IIoT under the cloud-fog automation architecture. Existing solutions encounter substantial management and computational burdens in cross-domain communication and data sharing, and they are vulnerable to privacy leakage risks. To address these challenges and enhance industrial production efficiency, this paper uses consortium blockchain to co-design a cross-domain authentication and data sharing scheme. The scheme ensures secure and private cross-domain communications with minimal computational, communication, and storage overhead. And, the proposed time-specific plaintext checkable encryption protocol can secure data during cross-domain sharing. Security and performance analyses show that the proposed scheme effectively reduces computational and communication resource demands while maintaining communication and data security. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

AD-Det: Boosting Object Detection in UAV Images with Focused Small Objects and Balanced Tail Classes

Object detection in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images poses significant challenges due to complex scale variations and class imbalance among objects. Existing methods often address these challenges separately, overlooking the intricate nature of UAV images and the potential synergy between them. In response, this paper proposes AD-Det, a novel framework employing a coherent coarse-to-fine strategy that seamlessly integrates two pivotal components: Adaptive Small Object Enhancement (ASOE) and Dynamic Class-balanced Copy-paste (DCC). ASOE utilizes a high-resolution feature map to identify and cluster regions containing small objects. These regions are subsequently enlarged and processed by a fine-grained detector. On the other hand, DCC conducts object-level resampling by dynamically pasting tail classes around the cluster centers obtained by ASOE, maintaining a dynamic memory bank for each tail class. This approach enables AD-Det to not only extract regions with small objects for precise detection but also dynamically perform reasonable resampling for tail-class objects. Consequently, AD-Det enhances the overall detection performance by addressing the challenges of scale variations and class imbalance in UAV images through a synergistic and adaptive framework. We extensively evaluate our approach on two public datasets, i.e., VisDrone and UAVDT, and demonstrate that AD-Det significantly outperforms existing competitive alternatives. Notably, AD-Det achieves a 37.5% Average Precision (AP) on the VisDrone dataset, surpassing its counterparts by at least 3.1%. Code will be available at https://***/gentlezachary/AD-Det. software reuse, as a means to develop new software products with similar functions by virtue of existing software components, has become a popular way during the software development process. In particular, as the service-oriented architecture became popular, web services turned into an indispensable part in modem software development Web services provide a basic composition with high cohesion and loose coupling to support responses among heterogeneous software components, which is the valuable resources for software reuse. The popular web service repositories, such as Programmable Web, contain a mass of web services for beginners and developers to choose from. Nevertheless, the large number of web services also makes it difficult to select the suitable services. Thus, the key to reuse software components lies in how to find appropriate web services from repositories to meet developers requirements in specific application scenarios.
