Plant growth with complex organic matter content can be enhanced by using oil palm by-products. These organic materials can maintain the water supply in the plant body. Therefore, in oil palm plantations with significant groundwater consumption, organic matter’s the ability to sustain water availability. Caterpillars that devour palm leaves are among the numerous pests that threaten oil palm plantations. Predators of leaf-eating caterpillars use the holly rose flower (Turnera subulata) in oil palm farms as a habitat. Therefore, the effect of the type and dose treatment of oil palm by-products on the growth of Turnera subulata was observed to support sustainable water management in oil palm plantations. The research was carried out using a factorial design arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two components: the type of palm oil mill by-product (boiler ash, empty bunches, and solid) and the dose of a by-product (% volume) consisting of four dosages (0, 25, 33, and 50% volume). The research data were analyzed using variance at the 5% test level. A DMRT test at the 5% test level was conducted on the treatment that had a significant effect. The growth of Turnera subulata was most positively impacted by a solid application dose of 50% volume. Turnera subulata plants responded the least favorably to the application of empty bunches in any dose treatment.

Global warming arising from climate change can increase the spread of deadly diseases. Effort is needed to develop a set of policies for the government to stem or reduce health risks from global warming. The purpose of this paper is to examine more detail and comprehensively about the relationship among climate and event disease count in Taiwan using the partial least square latent regression model. The results obtained that of the 17 types of diseases in Taiwan, that has the most significant loading factor is Amoebiasis, Malaria and Chikungunya. At the same time, climate variables that have the biggest most significant factor are Number day with max temp more than 30, Number day Temp more than 25, and Rainfall PH. Cronbach’s Alpha infectious disease 0.9696 and climate 0.2813. At the same time, the value of Dillon Goldstein’s rho infectious disease 0.974 and climate 0.6404, respectively.

City planners worldwide have tried to develop their cities following the concept of sustainable development. To allocate land use properly, the zoning method has been widely used, especially in densely populated cities, namely a kind of sustainable urban form with considers the mix of use/diversity of land use to minimize travel distance. This study proposes a method for calculating how much a city meets the sustainable urban forms based on compact city criteria, i.e. compatibility, dependency, and compactness. After the survey filling in compatibility and dependency scores for each land use, and compactness was calculated for each sub-district. Fuzzy C-Means clustering was used to cluster the result to classify other areas. In addition, this method can be used by planners to check whether their plans meet the concept of sustainable development or not.

Satellite imageries have been widely used to analyze a region by planners. Data from the satellite usually have lower accuracy than other expensive methods e.g. drone, aerial view, etc. However, the data from satellite have wide range area and sufficient enough for modeling a land use. The accuracy assessment, therefore, becomes a vital task to ensure the model from the satellite imagery meets the minimum requirement. Validating the classification result by comparing to the real location or by other higher resolution images is needed. The paper proposed additional validation by comparing the classification result by another result in different date through the cross-tabulation method. Two satellite imageries in the same year were processed before classification to get the land-use and land-cover classification. Comparing two land-use classified images gave the accuracy statistics using cross-tabulation. The kappa statistic and accuracy showed the classification performance of 0.7592 that similar to the sampling-based accuracy assessment (0.75390). Therefore, the proposed method was appropriate as the accuracy assessment.

An evaluating process that involves the multi parameters and rules is complex and complicated. Such complexity shows that the problem is a semi-unstructured problem. Thus, the problem faced is possibly solved by proposing a new intelligentdecision model to get the quantitative decision. Here, the experimental research was conducted by methodically operating the conception of multi-stage rule-based fuzzy logic. The experimental research is a Python programming language experiment and it is one implementation of the multi-stage rule-based fuzzy logic in solving the problem of a simple case for evaluating student performance. The evaluation model was designed thru an object-oriented approach and was conclusively able to show the result of100 dummy students’ performance values.
