The Effectiveness of Online Learning with Facilitation Method

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the application of electronic learning systems to the effectiveness of learning with facilitation methods to increase the level of student participation in online discussion forums. Specifically review the effects of facilitation methods and teacher involvement in student participation in online discussion forums. In the trial attended by 94 teachers, 193 classes and 5104 students, to compare the level of student participation in the online discussion forums held in all study programs in the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Law, University of Pamulang The participation of the students as the dependent variable in the two methods facilitated the discussion, the discussion was facilitated by the students as an experimental class and the discussions were facilitated by the teachers as a kind of control. Teacher participation as a covariate. In general, the results show that the amount of student participation in student issues initiated by the students is superior to the discussion topics initiated by the teachers, once the level of teacher participation is adjusted. The discussion topic made by the students encourages students to participate more than the topic of discussion made by the teachers, because the students are more interested in the topics that interest them. This study has the effect of facilitating participation in online learning discussion forums at the level of student participation. The results also show that the freedom granted to students to make the topic of discussion is not influenced by the size or participation of the teacher.

Halstead Complexity Measures is a software metrics introducted by Maurice Howard Halstead in 1977. This metrics used to identify measurable properties of the code and relation between them. Several measures can be calculated with this method are program vocabulary, program length, volume, difficulty and effort. In learning process, the final result obtained by students should be linear with the results obtained each time the students doing their exercises. This study aims to see the pattern similarity relationship between coding that students do on each exercise in term of difficulty, programming effort and programming time with the final value that they obtained. The experiment was done by giving the students three sets of exercise questions which were derived from the final problem, then each set of exercise code done by each students measured using halstead method and compare with the final grade obtained by each student. © 2018 IEEE.

Facial recognition as of biometric authentication used in the field of security, military, finance and daily use is become a trend or famous, because of its natural and not intrusive nature. Many methods for face recognition such as holistic learning, the use of local features, shallow learning and deep learning, some methods are susceptible to variations in pose change, illumination, expression and age variation. State of the art of face recognition today is a deep learning technique that delivers high accuracy. In this paper author replicate an face recognition using deep learning architecture called OpenFace Convolutional Neural Network. In this research author make variation on the size of image, color dept and age, and see how that factor impact on accuracy of face recognition in that architecture. As the result from the research, the accuracy of a model depends on the image size, color depth, and age variation, but in OpenFace CNN that recognition still provides fairly good accuracy when reducing the size of image and color depth, as long as the image can still be detected on the landmark facial, so the alignment process can be done on the face image. © 2018 IEEE.

When optimizing the spatial data, a lot of constraints should be handled. Some constraints might be too wide for a metaheuristic algorithm, e.g. particle swarm optimization, to allocate the candidate locations outside a wide constraint. However, particle swarm optimization notably has fast computation characteristic and many researchers used this method for optimizing their spatial data. In the other hand, genetic algorithm has not only better exploitation-characteristic performance in searching but also has mutation and crossover that was proven in this study can be overcome the wide constraint problem. To minimize the drawback of genetic algorithm, i.e. need many computation resources, the hybrid particle swarm optimization with genetic algorithm through the use of crossover and mutation was used. Half of lower fitness values from particle swarm optimization were optimized using crossover and mutation in genetic algorithm. After merging the results of both methods, the optimum location showed that the proposed method was able to allocate the land use in a case study area outside the wide constraint.

The results of observations showed that the book about Tais produced by Secretariat de Estado da Arte e Cultura (SEAC) has not been able to meet the needs of users because the information is less interesting and interactive. This paper’s aim is to introduce the more interesting and interactive way to introduce Tais. Utilization of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in an application built with the Unity3D program is done to provide different way in presenting interesting and interactive information to its users. Based on the results in this paper, the developed application can handle the presentation in more interesting and interactive way. The ideal distance in the tracking process for target objects with size 7 x 6 cm is ranged from 6 cm to 30 cm, with the image ratio that can be detected at the farthest distance is 4% of the camera image. For the detection angle, the target object can be detected properly from approximately ±64 0 . From the data acquired, it can be said that AR can be used to introduce Tais in more interesting and interactive way.

The transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2) in Indonesia is seen to be uncontrollably increasing that urges the government to leverage the capacity for the disease detections. Real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), rapid test and computed tomography (CT) scan are the most common methods to determine if one has been infected regardless of whether or not the common symptoms of such Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) surface. Among these three, RT-PCR is considered the gold standard for qualitative and quantitative assessment of SARS CoV-2 detection. The present paper aims at elaborating the framework of Roche's RT-PCR machine employed specifically for SARS CoV-2 detection performed by Genetics Indonesia which is deemed to be efficient and relatively quicker than other detection kits. RT-PCR machine detected SARS Cov-2 with RNA amplification curve equals to 10 copies RNA below the cut off value of Crossing point (Cp) positive control. Also elucidated in the paper is the implementations of EAV RNA and LightCycler® 96 RT-PCR System through which analysis time, amounts of individual required sample, as well as the reagents, can be accordingly reduced.

Attribute Oriented Induction High level Emerging Pattern (AOI-HEP) as proposed new data mining technique has been success to mine frequent and similar patterns. Moreover, the AOI-HEP data mining technique has been improved with confidence mining pattern into two terms, where firstly give confidence mining pattern for each AOI-HEP pattern either frequent or similar pattern. Secondly, give confidence for each dataset as confidence AOI-HEP pattern between frequent and similar patterns. Confidence for each AOI-HEP pattern will show how interested each of AOI-HEP pattern between frequent and similar pattern, whilst confidence per dataset will show how interested each dataset between frequent and similar pattern. In this paper the mining of AOI-HEP has been extended to mine AOI-HEP association rules using the current AOI-HEP frequent pattern, since association rule deal with frequent pattern. Based from previous experiments upon 4 UCI machine learning datasets such as adult, breast cancer, census and IPUMS, there are 9 finding AOI-HEP frequent patterns where 8 from adult and breast cancer datasets respectively. Finally, there are 2 and 1 AOI-HEP association rules from adult and breast cancer datasets respectively. © 2018 IEEE.

One of the most interesting topics in auditory problem is determining gender of the speaker. In recent years, machine learning has gained significant attentions as a way to build a classifier from labeled data which also can be implemented to build a gender classifier. In this study we develop gender classifier using two different datasets with different languages, English and Bahasa Indonesia. Each data from both datasets is represented by 20 acoustic features. Multi Layer Perceptron (MLP) is used to build the classification model using all these features and trained only on English dataset. This model is evaluated in both dataset to get the performance matrices consist of accuracy, AUROC, precision and recall. Ultimately, using this model we also identify and compare important features from both dataset to see the different characteristics of English and Bahasa Indonesia speeches.

Detection of Vehicle Position and Speed using Camera Calibration and Image Projection Methods

Traffic congestion is the main problem faced by big cities, such as Jakarta. One approach to reduce congestion levels is to improve traffic management that regulates and controls the number of vehicles. To evaluate the impact of traffic management before direct implementation on the highway, traffic modeling can be carried out. Parameters in modeling traffic must be determined from a calibration process where the vehicle is accurately measured for its position and speed. This study aims to propose an efficient calibration procedure with accurate results, based on recorded vehicle movement in perspective view. First, the road image is projected using the Direct Linear Transformation (DLT) method, then the vehicle position is detected using the Background Subtraction and tracked using Mixture of Gaussian (MoG) to determine the vehicle speed. Finally, we develop a prototype of Automated Traffic Flow Monitoring based on Python programming. In the experiment results, the accuracy of vehicle position detection is evaluated based on the Euclidean distance. The average difference between the results of position detection with ground-truth is 12.07 pixels with a camera angle 40 °. The percentage of speed measurement accuracy using the DLT projection method is 96.14%.
