Analysis of Gamification Models in Education Using MDA Framework

Gamification nowadays is being one of techniques that can increase motivation and encourage the involvement of users, particularly in education domain that requires teaching and learning activities to be more fun and interesting. This paper surveys some analysis of gamification models. MDA framework is used to identify surveyed papers by breaking them down into three categories: mechanics, dynamics and aesthetics. Findings from the survey show there are many gamification models in education domain. However, there are some very representative gamification models could be used as a method to increase motivation, achievement and engagement in learning activities. By knowing the latest gamification models in education domain stated in this paper, it could help gamification practitioners to make new strategies in learning activities to increase students’ motivation, achievement and involvement. We also suggest some gamification strategies, which combine several mechanics in such a way to create dynamics that results in all types of aesthetics outputs.

Students generally experience difficulties in learning human body anatomy due to constraints to visualize the body anatomy from 2D into 3D image. This research aims to develop a human anatomy learning system using augmented reality technology. By using this system, it is expected that students can easily understand the anatomy of the human body using a 3D image visualization. The method used in this system is augmented reality marker on mobile computing platform. The marker is captured by taking a picture. Then, the captured image is divided into pieces and the pattern is matched with images stored in the database. In this research, we use Floating Euphoria Framework and combine it with the SQLite database. Augmented reality anatomy system of the human body has features that can interactively display the whole body or parts of the human organs. To evaluate the usefulness of the application, we tested the augmented reality anatomy system with high school students and medical students for learning the anatomy of the human body. The results show that the human anatomy learning system with interactive augmented reality visualization helps students learn human anatomy more easily. © 2018 The Authors. Globally, internet users and mobile phone are increasing significantly all the time. One of the impacts from the growth of it, there is the revolution in a traditional market. Nowadays, people tend to buy something through an online channel or electronic marketplace (e-marketplace). This study aims to obtain literature of key success factors of e-marketplace implementation. It uses Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines to articles published in 2005-2018. A total of 231 articles obtain from considerable databases for instance: IEEE Explore, ACM Digital Library, science Direct and etc. Furthermore, it validates and examines in order to obtain 37 articles which can be used as the main study. As the result, it finds 11 key success factors for e-marketplace as follows: Trust, technical, platform, platform owner, product, service operation, seller, marketing and sales, payment channel, buyer, and environmental. © 2018 IEEE.

Information technology enables for new way of commerce, which is a commerce activities through online media (e-commerce). Security becomes an important issue in online-system, because such system is accessible by anyone through the global network -internet. Security in terms of confidentiality, integrity, and availability becomes goals that must be achieved by any system generally, and commerce system especially, because this kind of system contains many sensitive data like customer data and transaction data. SQL Injection is a vulnerability and threat, with the most occurrence in a web based system. In this research we evaluate and analyze source code against SQL injection, and we use regular expression and escape string to prevent the SQL injection. The results of this study are findings of system vulnerability against SQL injection, which are proven by the ability to get data from database, with SQL injection techniques. System vulnerabilities were analyzed, in order to design and implement the solution for it. The solutions then tested, to validate that it has proven effectively fix the vulnerabilities, and can prevent the exploitation by SQL injection. In the end, the conclusion is that initially the system is vulnerable against SQL injection, but then the solution that being implemented has proven effectively fix the issue. © 2018 The Authors. Decision support model (DSM) is familiarly applied in a lot of areas and issues. The model is commonly benefited by decision maker to solve semi / unstructured problems. One of them should be used to treat medical waste by considering six selected parameters and three decision alternatives. In this study, environmental issue is main concerned aspect that the constructed model consequently becomes ecological DSM (eco-DSM). Three main methods are operated to construct the model;they are fuzzy logic, Euclidean distance, and full-factorial optimization methods. The model is analysed and designed via object oriented method. Lastly, the study shows simulation results based on empirical data of medical waste from one class 'A' state hospital in Jakarta, Indonesia. © 2018 Institute of Physics Publishing. Numerous efforts have been reasonably done to eliminate the road traffic congestion, however it occurs every working day, particularly in metropolitan. This study positively proposed a model which is not only able to show the effect of road traffic congestion ecologically, but also can recommend the strategy for road traffic engineering with methodically elaborating the environmental attributes as a dominant aspects considered. It is called as ecological decision support model (eco-DSM). To construct the model, two main methods were operated and combined: fuzzy logic and water flow algorithm (WFA). The method fuzzy logic exploited to exterminate the bias facet on parameters, and the WFA utilised to model the road traffic congestion and vehicle flow and to optimize its velocity based on emission calculation. The constructed model itself was designed thru the method object oriented, and the empirical road traffic congestion data of the Juanda Street in Tangerang Selatan city were functioned. Finally, the model showed the simulation result for suggesting the best decision alternative for road traffic engineering. © 2018 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

A road traffic engineering (RTE) is realistically required to reduce the road traffic congestion (RTC) degree. The congestion negatively affects not only to economy and physiology factors, but also for human environment and health. This paper methodologically represents the development of ecological decision support system based on the concept of fuzzy logic (Fuzzy ecoDSS) for RTE. Three types of core method operated here;fuzzy logic, water flow algorithm (WFA), and object oriented. The method fuzzy logic used to avoid the fuzziness in parameterizing and prioritize the parameters. The WFA approach functioned to replicate the flow of road traffic and optimize it thru RTE. Finally, the method object oriented benefited to analyze and design the constructed system. Thus, the simulation result exhibits the best decision alternative taken gives better air condition (more 200% than normal condition) and better road traffic velocity (more 2,200% than normal situation). © 2018 IEEE.

In this era the business competition between regions and countries will be more stringent. One way to survive and improve its performance is through the management of information, it is necessary to be able to see and assess the company from a variety of perspectives. One of the keys to surviving and playing a role is to manage complete, fast and precise information. Data analysis will be easy if the required data is available. Business intelligence techniques (BI) can be used to assist in the decision-making process. Many organization and educational institution have implemented BI as the support system. Therefore, we make a comparison study about BI research finding from several articles. From the comparison study it can be seen the research in the BI field is continues to grow and also following the technology trend. This can be seen from the topics discussed in the journal articles in the period 2010-2017. This study is conducted to see the spread and trend of business intelligence research in various forms of organization. Also can be seen the advantages of BI in the decision-making process.

The research purpose is to create a hypermedia driven API for learning object management. The research focuses on conception, design, implementation and evaluation of the learning object management hypermedia API. The hypermedia API was designed based on learning object models, hypermedia concepts, and related studies. Learning object model can be represented and manipulated as a hypermedia resource. It contains page resources with text and links to multimedia elements. The hypermedia API was designed using UML and represented in HTML5 because of its rich affordance. The implementation and evaluation phase were conducted by testing the API using three different client's software to prove the concept of hypermedia as the engine of application state for managing learning objects. The results show that the hypermedia API for learning object management is accessible, consistent, and discoverable by heterogonous client applications. © 2018 The Authors. Ambiguity in the fish naming is present in several fish species database, especially for fish in Siluformes order. To fix the ambiguity, a visual intelligent system is needed to automate the fish naming correction in the database. In this study, we developed a deep-learning-based model as the core of the intelligent system. The proposed model achieved 89% accuracy for the classification of three genera in Siluformes order: Mystus, Hemibagrus, and Glyptothorax.
