This research investigates the novel application of Dynamic Game Balancing (DGB) techniques in the context of a hybrid chess-survival roguelike game, a unique combination of genres not widely explored in previous studies. The study addresses two primary research questions: the identification of suitable DGB techniques for these genres and the enhancement of user experience through DGB. A game prototype was developed using Unity, where players control a chess knight in a turn-based system, facing increasingly challenging enemy pieces. The DGB system dynamically adjusts the game's difficulty based on player performance, utilizing various inputs such as damage received or dealt, health points, powerup usage, and decision speed. Preliminary results from 14 beta-testers show overall positive feedback, with players reporting higher engagement and enjoyment due to the seamless difficulty adjustments, as reflected by the high mean scores from surveys like the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). This research fills a gap in the literature by demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of integrating DGB in a chess-survival roguelike setting. These findings highlight the potential for DGB to significantly improve player experience in hybrid game genres, suggesting that its application can create more adaptive and immersive gaming environments in various other genres as well. © 2025 IEEE.

Six classes named entity recognition for mapping location of Indonesia natural disasters from twitter data

Gender Classification on Twitter Based on Feeds and User Descriptions Using Xlnet-Fasttext

This study proposes a gender classification method for Twitter data using a hybrid XLNet-fastText model. The objective is to enhance gender classification accuracy by leveraging the contextual understanding of XLNet and the semantic richness of fastText embeddings. Computational experiments were conducted on a dataset derived from Kaggle, focusing on user account descriptions and Twitter feeds. The proposed method achieved an accuracy of 71.4%, precision of 77%, recall of 60.9%, and F1-score of 68% for gender classification based on Twitter feeds. For user account descriptions, the scores were 72.4% for accuracy, 75.1% for precision, 63.24% for recall, and 68% for F1-score. These results outperform the baseline XLNet model and demonstrate the potential of the XLNet-fastText combination in improving text-based classification tasks. Our approach highlights a viable pathway to enhance gender classification on social media platforms, suggesting further improvements through multi-modal data integration. © 2024 Slovene Society Informatika. Enhancing Customer Segmentation Insights by using RFM + Discount Proportion Model with Clustering Algorithms

In this digital era, the use of e-commerce has expanded and is widely adopted by society. One of the reasons why people use e-commerce platforms is because of their convenience and ease of use. However, the rapid growth of e-commerce has led to a substantial rise in transactions within the platform, involving various business entities. Therefore, it is crucial to perform customer segmentation to group them based on their purchasing behavior. The implementation of data mining techniques, such as clustering, is highly beneficial in this case. Clustering helps process datasets and transform them into useful information. In this study, transaction data obtained from one of the e-commerce stores, i.e. MurahJaya888 and followed by analysis using various clustering methods such as K-means, K-medoids, Fuzzy c-means, and Mini-batch k-means. We also proposed a new model that will become the attributes cluster, namely, RFM + DP (Discount Proportion). The Discount Proportion Rate will provide more insights for customer segmentation as it helps understand purchasing behavior that is more responsive to discount utilization. Implementing these four clustering methods with RFM + DP model resulted in four clusters based on the optimal elbow method. Furthermore, the evaluation and performance metrics for each clustering algorithm indicate that Mini Batch K-Means achieved the highest silhouette score of 0.50. Meanwhile, K-Means obtained the highest CH index value compared to the other algorithms, which was 1056. © (2024), (science and Information Organization). All Rights Reserved.

Significant advancements in information technology have altered existing markets, transforming them from physical to online electronic markets (e-commerce). The practice of conducting business online by smaller and medium-sized companies has received encouragement and assistance from governments all around the world, particularly those of developing nations. With the evolution of e-commerce, businesses must find a better way to implement e-commerce while maintaining its security. The purpose of this article is to carry out a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) in order to determine the types of vulnerabilities that are present in e-commerce platforms used by SMEs. As a result, in the conclusion, security issues and recommended solutions related to e-commerce systems for SMEs will be presented. Customer complaints are an important aspect in the business world. Every company must face complaints from its customers, whether related to unsatisfactory products, services or experiences. Customer complaints are a sign of unmet needs or expectations. A customer service person is tasked with serving questions asked by customers or consumers. The purpose of this research is to classify types of complaints to help customer service. The classification carried out is in binary form, namely disputed or not. This research compares several machine learning algorithms for classification of customer questions into appropriate categories for more efficient responses. Based on evaluation metrics, the F1 Score light gradient boosting machine (LGBM) is the best model compared to Multinomial Naive Bayes (MNB), Logistic Regression (LR), SVM (Support Vector Machine), and EXTC (Extra Tree Classifier). © 2024 IEEE.

In smart retail, the problem in grocery product image classification is fine-grained image representation. Product variants are characterized by differences in color, text, and size. However, while the process of image classification involves quite complex stages, there is still a misclassification of grocery products. This is because there are many areas of the image being calculated, which makes the models not optimally calculate the most important area. This paper aims to identify a number of patch image formations as an important area of the product by involving Binary Robust Invariant Scalable Keypoints (BRISK) as a feature descriptor, K-Means Clustering, and the elbow method. First, we experiment with the BRISK keypoint feature for grocery products with different categories of brands. Second, the keypoint features are clustered using K-Means clustering. Lastly, the number of clusters is analyzed using the elbow method to find the optimal number. The result shows that the number of clusters from 8 products has variations of 5, 5, and 6 clusters. Finally, each cluster represents an important area in forming patches to support fine-grained grocery product image classification. ©2024 IEEE.

NoSQL database has gained popularity in Big Data and other various applications for its simplicity and flexibility. The non-relational nature of NoSQL database such as MongoDB proves to improve development lifecycles and resources efficiency. However, security challenges arise along with increasing usage of NoSQL database, and NoSQL database is no exception to injection attacks. Machine learning proved to be an efficient method, as much has been researched. However, in the future there may be an increasing complexity of features that may prove costly to the model’s performance. Therefore, this research aims to utilize principal component analysis as dimensionality reduction and deep neural network as the classification method, to improve the security of NoSQL database. The text query is converted to feature vectors then further processed to reduce the input dimension of the deep neural network using PCA. The features used are based on previous research and various sources, and some are added after analyzing the dataset.10-fold cross validation is also applied to ensure that the model does not overfit the data, attempting to reduce bias to the result. The 10-fold cross validation model accuracy result is in average 97.44% with a standard deviation of 1.7%, and the testing results are 97.5% in accuracy,95.65% in precision, 91.67% in recall, and 93.61% in F1 score. Thus, it can be concluded that the usage of PCA on injection feature vectors can reduce complexity of the model. © 2024 IEEE.

This study investigates the performance of Vision Transformer (ViT) variants - the Shifted Window Transformers (SWIN), Distillation with No Labels (DINO), and Data-efficient Image Transformers (DeIT) - in image captioning tasks using the Flickr8K dataset. While ViT architectures have shown promise in image classification, their effectiveness for image captioning, particularly with smaller datasets, remains unclear. The models' performance was evaluated using BLEU metrics, while training efficiency was analyzed through Pareto front analysis of computational time and accuracy. Among the tested variants, SWIN Transformers demonstrated superior performance (BLEU-1: 64.4, BLEU-2: 33.9, BLEU-3: 17.1, BLEU-4: 8.4), followed by DINO (BLEU-1: 63.1, BLEU-2: 32.7, BLEU-3: 16.4, BLEU-4: 7.5), while DeIT showed the weakest performance (BLEU-1: 61.6, BLEU-2: 31.1, BLEU-3: 14.7, BLEU-4: 6.5). SWIN Transformers achieved the shortest training time at 3 minutes 31 seconds per epoch, making it the most efficient model among ViT variants based on Pareto front analysis. While ViT variants achieved competitive BLEU-1 scores comparable to previous top models, they struggled with generating coherent, longer sentences, as evidenced by suboptimal BLEU-4 scores. These findings provide empirical evidence of how the lack of inductive bias in transformer architectures affects their ability to capture complex scene relationships, despite their strong feature detection capabilities, contributing to the understanding of transformer models' limitations in vision-language tasks, especially with limited data. © 2024 IEEE.

The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze what has been done by previous studies in knowing the problems faced by SMEs today and how the influence of Industry 4.0 technology in dealing with problems in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), so that they become developed and can maintain their business continuity. Most studies show that SMEs have considerable barriers when trying to use the potential of Industry 4.0 to improve the competitiveness and long-term sustain ability of their business. This systematic literature review uses the Kitchenham technique to identify SME problems and the role of Industry 4.0 technologies in SMEs in various industrialized and developing countries. Through several databases including: IEEE, science Direct, Web of science, Taylor & Francis, Emerald and Springer between 2019 - 2023 were used to find relevant research articles in this study. The research findings offer valuable perspectives on the strategies, obstacles and prospects that SMEs in different countries face in adjusting to Industry 4.0. The contribution of academics in this research is to provide solutions by designing more robust approaches to promote the business sustainability of SMEs and their role in driving economic progress in their countries. © 2023 IEEE.
