Poultry agriculture is a form of livestock farming that involves raising chickens, turkeys, ducks, etc, and raises them to provide eggs or meat. However, this work sheds light on the method of hatching duck eggs which maintains a suitable environment around the eggs through an automated and low cost device by controlling temperature (T) and relative humidity (RH). This paper presents a control strategy for automatic temperature and relative humidity control systems for the egg/s hatching procedure for rural areas people or unprivileged communities in the developing countries. One of the best outcomes of this work is the proper hatching procedure steps shown from the beginning to the end. Moreover, for a better understanding and outcomes, the research work has been done under a poultry farm in Charsita village, Lakshmipur, Bangladesh for 6 consecutive months of 2020. The experiment (egg/s hatching) has been conducted under an ice-box. Furthermore, a microcontroller (ATmega328p) is used to monitor the temperature and relative humidity by receiving data from the sensor DHT22 and manipulating the appropriate temperature and humidity using a logic algorithm code. Egg/s need a constant temperature and relative humidity of 35.6 °C to 37.8 °C and 60% to 80%, respectively. Nonetheless, an LCD (16*2) with a matrix keypad (4*4) has been integrated into the unit, allowing farmers to easily set, run, and monitor the appropriate temperature and relative humidity levels within the ice-box. Finally, the results of sensor testing, system device management, and performance rates are recorded to ensure the research's success. © 2021 IEEE.

Lockdowns, despite their conflicting restrictions and consequences they might offer when enforced as a national strategy, are deemed to be suggestive for a prompt conquer to the Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) outbreak. There have been some success stories such as in China, South Korea and our ASEAN member fellow, Vietnam, which exhibited extremely fallen numbers of COVID-19 cases post the enforcement of lockdown. Indonesia, however, remains in the crux of dispute whether or not the lockdown is opted to force COVID-19 transmission down under control. We, in this respect, employ the most popular model which has been broadly applied in the field of epidemiology, referred to as SEIRD (Susceptible, Exposed, Infectious, Recovered, and Death), the extension form of an age-structured SEIR, where the Death (D) is included to provide more factual situation. We modify the I (Infectious) fraction as symp-tomatic (Is) and asymptomatic (Ia) infectives. There are three lockdown scenarios simulated in our modified SEIRD with the starting date are 26 April 2020 when the immediate lockdown was enacted-and a-week and two-week-gaps, respectively. We figured out that by stipulating the lockdown without delay (26 April 2020), the new cases could be kept below 10,000. A week delay escalates case number to 5,000 and delay for one more week results in beyond 20,000 new cases. Furthermore, when the intervention is delayed following the delayed lockdown, normalization would demand a longer period within which dealing with more critical and dying patients is unavoidable and should be more anticipated. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the evolving landscape of cloud computing, federated cloud infrastructures present unique challenges and opportunities for resource and application monitoring. Monitoring the diverse array of cloud resources and applications within a federated cloud environment is crucial for delivering consistent Quality of Service (QoS) and continuous oversight across various cloud applications and infrastructure. Despite the various successes documented in the literature on multi-cloud monitoring, existing frameworks have not fully explored or provided enough insights into centralized monitoring of resources, applications, and network devices in a federated cloud environment. This paper introduces FedMonitor, an implementation architecture designed to enhance the monitoring and notification capabilities in federated cloud environments by building on the theoretical ideals in our earlier work (i.e. FEDARGOS-V1). FedMonitor leverages Prometheus and Grafana to crawl, manage and visualize metrics from diverse software services, hardware resources, and network devices within a federated cloud environment. The results demonstrate hat FedMonitor improves the effectiveness of resource and application monitoring in federated cloud environments. © 2024 IEEE.

As soon as the lockdown was established in Jakarta, Indonesia, people experienced a change in Jakarta's air quality. This research was conducted to answer several challenges such as: where to find Indonesia's air quality open data platforms, how to handle the acquired data with SQL technology, and how to validate whether the air quality of Jakarta was significantly changed from a period to another or not. With particulate matter 2.5 (PM 2.5) data acquired by The United States Diplomatic Post in South Jakarta, a data visualization was generated to describe the fluctuation of PM 2.5 from February 29th to June 29th. By conducting a two-sample t-test, a significant change in South Jakarta's air quality was revealed. The test concluded that South Jakarta's air quality got worse even after a lockdown was established. © 2021 IEEE.

MotifBench: A standardized protein design benchmark for motif-scaffolding problems

The motif-scaffolding problem is a central task in computational protein design: Given the coordinates of atoms in a geometry chosen to confer a desired biochemical function (a motif), the task is to identify diverse protein structures (scaffolds) that include the motif and maintain its geometry. Significant recent progress on motif-scaffolding has been made due to computational evaluation with reliable protein structure prediction and fixed-backbone sequence design methods [1–17]. However, significant variability in evaluation strategies across publications has hindered comparability of results, challenged reproducibility, and impeded robust progress. In response we introduce MotifBench, comprising (1) a precisely specified pipeline and evaluation metrics, (2) a collection of 30 benchmark problems, and (3) an implementation of this benchmark and leaderboard at ***/blt2114/MotifBench. The MotifBench test cases are more difficult compared to earlier benchmarks (e.g. [4]), and include protein design problems for which solutions are known but on which, to the best of our knowledge, state-of-the-art methods fail to identify any solution. © 2025, CC BY.

Impacts of Zoning and Spatial Confounders of Zones on the Abundance of Wild Boar Assessed Through a Bayesian N-Mixture Model

Increasing human-wild boar interactions have led to damage to agricultural crops, traffic collisions and disease transmissions. Dividing natural areas in zones with differential hunting pressure is one of the currently adopted management strategies. However, the effectiveness of this approach is under debate. Hence, there is a need to better understand how to mitigate negative human-wild boar interactions *** traps are cost-efficient, and non-invasive tools to monitor animal populations. N-mixture models can reliably estimate spatial variation in relative abundances when animals are imperfectly detected and/or cannot be individually identified. Thus, they are useful tools to infer the impacts of several factors on wild boar abundance, based on camera trap *** a nature area in central Belgium, we compare "summer" (April-September) abundances of wild boar from 2018 until 2021 between three zones: a hunting free core zone, a winter hunting zone where hunting only takes place between November and March, and a year-round hunting zone. The latter is also close to the forest edge, agricultural crops and settlements. We compare spatial abundance models that capture these zone effects, or attractive effects of croplands, repulsive effects of hunting and repulsive effects of non-lethal human *** reveal between zone differences in wild boar abundances across all summers. Additionally, we find that non-lethal human disturbance and croplands also explain variation in wild boar abundance, but do not find negative associations with hunting locations. Our results suggest that the effects of zoning on wild boar abundance patterns are relevant in medium-sized natural areas. Moreover, we identify the need to install additional cameras outside of the managed area in order to assess the impacts of hunting in combination with non-lethal human activities on wild boar to mitigate negative human-wild boar interactions in the future. © 2023, The Authors. COVID-19, the current global pandemic has caused immense damage to human lives and the global economy. It is instigated by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and there is an immediate need for the identification of effective drugs against this deadly virus. SARS-CoV-2 genome codes for four structural proteins, sixteen non-structural proteins (NSPs) and several accessory proteins for its survival inside the host cells. In the present study, through in silico approaches, we aim to identify compounds that are effective against the four NSPs namely, NSP1, NSP4, NSP6 and NSP13 of SARS-CoV-2. The selection criteria of these four NSP proteins are they are least explored and potential targets. First, we have modeled the 3D structures of these proteins using homology modeling methods. Further, through molecular docking studies, we have screened the FDA-approved compounds against these modeled proteins and reported their docking scores. To gain dynamic insights, molecular dynamics studies have also been carried out for the best scored ligand against the NSPs. This study can further pave way for exposing more number of compounds against these proteins and enhance COVID-19 treatment.

Structure-Inclusive Similarity Based Directed GNN: A Method that Can Control Information Flow to Predict Drug-Target Binding Affinity

Exploring the association between drugs and targets is essential for drug discovery and repurposing. Comparing with the traditional methods that regard the exploration as a binary classification task, predicting the drug-target binding affinity can provide more specific information. Many studies work based on the assumption that similar drugs may interact with the same target. These methods constructed a symmetric graph according to the undirected drug similarity or target similarity. Although these similarities can measure the difference between two molecules, it is unable to analyze the inclusion relationship of their substructure. For example, if drug A contains all the substructures of drug B, then in the message-passing mechanism of the graph neural network, drug A should acquire all the properties of drug B, while drug B should only obtain some of the properties of A. To this end, we proposed a structure-inclusive similarity (SIS) which measures the similarity of two drugs by considering the inclusion relationship of their substructures. Based on SIS, we constructed a drug graph and a target graph, respectively, and predicted the binding affinities between drugs and targets by a graph convolutional network-based model. Experimental results show that considering the inclusion relationship of the substructure of two molecules can effectively improve the accuracy of the prediction model. The performance of our SIS-based prediction method outperforms several state-of-the-art methods for drug-target binding affinity prediction. The case studies demonstrate that our model is a practical tool to predict the binding affinity between drugs and targets. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The presence of various innovations and technology of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has now begun to be adopted by Indonesia in many aspects including in the industrial sector. The utilization of AI also can offer a new paradigm in learning and teaching strategies. The development of learning strategies continues also performed to obtain the variations of learning that involve student activity. Team-Based Learning (TBL) is one of the teaching strategies that can improve the quality of the learning process and student activity in groups. By starting to integrate digital-based learning resources in the learning and teaching process, the TBL strategy can potentially be an alternative to new learning strategies that are relevant to be applied in the era of the educational revolution 4.0. The main focus of this research is to develop and evaluate the application of AI in a digital-based TBL strategy that will be implemented in the form of personalized learning about student learning styles. This research was developed based on the learning strategy development of the research method. However, this article more focuses on developing the AI application design that will be applied. The application design was developed based on the agile development method, especially SCRUM. The result of this study is an additional feature that was implemented on a Learning Management System (LMS) based on the Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE). © 2021 IEEE.

scAI-SNP: a method for inferring ancestry from single-cell data

Background:Collaborative efforts, such as the Human Cell Atlas, are rapidly accumulating large amounts of single-cell data. To ensure that single-cell atlases are representative of human genetic diversity, we need to determine the ancestry of the donors from whom single-cell data are generated. Self-reporting of race and ethnicity, although important, can be biased and is not always available for the datasets already collected. Methods:Here, we introduce scAI-SNP, a tool to infer ancestry directly from single-cell genomics data. To train scAI-SNP, we identified 4.5 million ancestry-informative single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the 1000 Genomes Project dataset across 3201 individuals from 26 population groups. For a query single-cell dataset, scAI-SNP uses these ancestry-informative SNPs to compute the contribution of each of the 26 population groups to the ancestry of the donor from whom the cells were obtained. Results:Using diverse single-cell datasets with matched whole-genome sequencing data, we show that scAI-SNP is robust to the sparsity of single-cell data, can accurately and consistently infer ancestry from samples derived from diverse types of tissues and cancer cells, and can be applied to different modalities of single-cell profiling assays, such as single-cell RNA-seq and single-cell ATAC-seq. Discussion:Finally, we argue that ensuring that single-cell atlases represent diverse ancestry, ideally alongside race and ethnicity, is ultimately important for improved and equitable health outcomes by accounting for human diversity.
