An asymmetric A-D-π-A type non-fullerene acceptor enables high-detectivity near-infrared organic photodiodes

Narrow bandgap non-fullerene acceptors(NFAs)are relevant as key materials components for the fabrication of near-infrared(NIR)organic solar cells(OSCs)and organic photodiodes(OPDs)thanks to their complementary absorption,tunable energy levels,and enhanced ***,high-performance NIR photodetectors are still scarce due to the absence of narrow bandgap ***,an asymmetric A-D-π-A type NFA,named ABTPV-S,with a broad optical absorption approaching 1,000 nm is designed and synthesized through integrating alkylthio side chains and a vinyleneπ-*** optimal inverted OPD device exhibits an excellent performance with a photoresponsivity of 0.39 AW-1,a noise current of 2.25×10^(-14)A Hz^(-0.5),a specific detectivity(D*)of 3.43×10^(12)Jones at 840 nm,and linear dynamic range(LDR)of 140 d *** addition,the rise and fall times for ABTPV-S-based OPDs also reach 1.07 and 0.71μs,***-S-based OPDs exhibit a high D*over 1012Jones at 950 nm,which is a competitive result for the self-powered photodiode-type NIR *** findings highlight the outstanding potential of asymmetric A-D-π-A type NIR NFAs for high-performance OPDs competing with their silicon counterparts.

Heat-integrated water network synthesis(HIWNS)has received considerable attention for the advantages of reducing water and energy *** is effective in water and energy *** integer non-linear programming(MINLP)is usually applied in *** this work,a novel nonlinear programming(NLP)was proposed for HIWNS by considering wastewater reuse and wastewater regeneration *** variables are changed to non-linear equation by the methods for identifying stream roles and denoting the existence of process *** model is tested by examples with single and multiple regeneration unit *** testing results showed that the NLP is an alternative method for HIWNS with wastewater reuse and regeneration reuse.

With characteristics and advantages of functional composite materials,they are commendably adopted in numerous fields especially in oxygen electrocatalysis,which is due to the significant synergies between various ***,a novel bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst(Co-CNT@COF-Pyr)has been synthesized through in-situ growth of covalent organic frameworks(COFs)layers on the outer surface of highly conductive carbon nanotubes(CNTs)followed by coordination with Co(Ⅱ).For electrocatalytic OER,Co-CNT@COF-Pyr reveals a low overpotential(438 mV)in alkaline electrolyte(1.0 M aqueous solution of KOH)with a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2),which is comparable to most discovered COF-based *** electrocatalytic ORR,CoCNT@COF-Pyr exhibits a low H_(2)O_(2) yield range(9.0%-10.1%)and a reaction pathway close to 4e^(-)(n=3.82-3.80)in alkaline electrolyte(0.1 M aqueous solution of KOH)within the test potential range of 0.1-0.6 V ***,which is superior to most reported COF-based ***,this research could not only offer an innovative insight into the construction of composites,but also facilitate the practical application of renewable fuel cells,closed water cycle,and rechargeable metal-air batteries.

Oxidizing CIO^(-)and IO_(4)^(-)exist widely in environment and are closely related to the health of ***,fast,sensitive,and direct detection of the two species is *** IFE in UCNPs@PAA and Fe(Ⅱ)-phenanthroline system,an elegant ratiometric fluorescent nanosensor,without noble metal nanoparticle,was designed for the detection of CIO-and IO4-.Fe(Ⅱ)-phenanthroline complex is used as fluorescent absorber,which can quench green light of UCNPs with gradually varied extent depending on the concentration of Fe(Ⅱ).The linear zone extends to 800 and 120μmol/L while the detection limit is 1.30 and 0.58μmol/L for NaCIO and NaIO_(4),***,the nanosensor was successfully applied to detect NaCIO and NaIO4spiked in milk,spring water,and tap water with good recoveries.

Retting has been employed to extract natural fibers from agricultural wastes as a biological and cost-effective approach for *** its global abundance,banana pseudo-stem is a promising agro-waste for lignocellulosic fiber *** this study,fibers were extracted from the pseudo-stems after being pre-treated under four conditions using seawater at room temperature for up to 35 d Bacterial isolation from the fresh seawater sample and screening for ligninolytic ability were *** load as well as laccase and manganese peroxidase enzyme activity profile assay during the retting duration were *** transform infrared(FT-IR)and X-day diffraction(XRD)analyses were also examined for both pre-treated and untreated extracted *** results shows that six out of the eight bacterial isolates had the ability to degrade *** treatments(Raw stem+Raw seawater)and(Autoclaved stem+Raw seawater)recorded the highest viable bacterial load of 9.24×102 and 4.46×102 CFU,respectively,on the 14th day of the retting ***,the highest laccase and manganese peroxidase enzymes activity was recorded for(Raw stem+Raw seawater)and(Autoclaved stem+Raw seawater)treatments in the second to the third *** FT-IR spectra of the pre-treated fibers revealed relative reductions in peaks attributed to polysaccharides and other amorphous substances for all retting *** XRD diffractogram revealed that the crystallinity index(CI)of pre-treated fibers increased in all seawater retting treatment ***,the CI for fibers pre-treated under enzymatic conditions were enhanced even after five *** analysis for selected bacterial isolates showed homology to sequences of Bacillus velezensis,Shewanella sp.L8–5,and Citrobacter amalonaticus and Bacillus subtilis j8 *** these findings,it was suggested that physical,biological,and chemical actions were collectively involved in the seawater retting process of banana ps

Facile fabrication of CeF_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) heterojunction photocatalysts with upconversion properties for enhanced photocatalytic desulfurization performance

Cerium fluoride(CeF_(3))semiconductor with upconversion property was constructed on graphite carbonitride(g-C_(3) N_(4))nanosheets by microwave hydrothermal *** X-ray diffraction,transmission election microscopy,Fourier transform infrared,and X-ray photoelectron spectra techniques were used to characterize the CeF_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) *** study shows that CeF_(3) has upconversion property and can convert visible light(Vis)and near-infrared light(NIR)into ultraviolet light(UV).Mo reover,CeF3 and g-C_(3) N_(4) can form well-defined heterojunction and promote the effective separation of photogenerated electrons and *** synergistic effect of the CeF_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposite was evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of dibenzothiophene(DBT).The optimum photocatalyst of CeF_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4)(40 wt%)composites exhibit the highest photocatalytic desulfurization rate of the model oil under visible light radiation.

In vitro evaluation of degradation,cytocompatibility and antibacterial property of polycaprolactone/hydroxyapatite composite coating on bioresorbable magnesium alloy

Polycaprolactone/hydroxyapatite(PCL/HA)composite coating was fabricated by a combination of hydrothermal and dipping methods to delay the degradation of Mg alloy AZ31 as bioresorbable *** PCL/HA coating was composed of nano rod-shape HA crystals and PCL filled in the space of HA *** with the single HA coating,the binding strength between the PCL/HA composite coating and Mg alloy was obviously improved and the PCL/HA coating still adhered to the surface of AZ31 substrate even after 38 days of *** electrochemical corrosion rate of HA coated sample was reduced by ten times after being filled by *** electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and immersion test results showed that the PCL/HA composite coating could provide a more effective barrier for Mg substrate than the HA coating *** cytocompatibility and the antibacterial property of HA coating and PCL/HA coating were evaluated by culturing with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)for 24 h under direct culture conditions,*** PCL/HA composite coating showed better BMSC cell compatibility,more suitable for BMSC adhesion than HA coating alone and showed a potential application prospect as a biological ***,from the perspective of clinical applications,the antibacterial property of PCL/HA composite coating needs to be further improved.

Northern Thailand is home to several Arabica coffee-growing regions, including Mae-kampong, Teentok, Mae-lord, and Monngo Valleys, whose coffees are featured throughout this study. These coffees have distinct aromas and flavors due to their varied cultivation locations, which are influenced by unique climatic conditions. The purpose of this paper is to comprehend the aroma of coffees brought from various locations and roasted under the same conditions. Our lab-made electronic nose (e-nose) was used to digitalize and analyze the smell of coffee. In order to monitor the coffee scent throughout roasting and assess how similar the aromas of coffee samples taken from various locations are to one another, principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis were used. It was found that our e-nose system is an effective tool for determining the geo-location of the coffee origin as well as for quality control of coffee production. © 2023 IEEE.

For sustainable application of chloroprene rubber(CR),a new technology is developed by the vulcanization of CR using 2,2'-dithiodipyridine(DPD)as a cross-linking agent with the repro-cessing performance owing to disulfde *** DPD was incorporated into CR vulcanization,the Menschutkin reac-tion between allyl chloride group and pyridine group occurred with a maximum exothermic peak at 184°*** number of effective cross-linking bond at o.5 phr DPD vulcanizate was higher than that at high DPD *** vulcanizate showed high tensile strength(11.12 MPa)and elongation at break(1253±120%)owing to the exchangeable disulfide bond in the *** the catalysis of triphenylphosphine,the metathesis of disulfide compound was improved obviously,which endowed CR/DPD vulcanizates with good recyclability *** cross-linkage maintains its stability at low temperature,thus ensuring the mechanical stability of CR/DPD vulcanizate under the ambient *** and reprocessing of CR/DPD vulcanizate can be conducted with common industrial rubber processing *** reprocessable chloroprene rubber could have potential appli-cation in CR industry,also serve to significantly improve envir-onmental sustainability.
