Ambiguity in the fish naming is present in several fish species database, especially for fish in Siluformes order. To fix the ambiguity, a visual intelligent system is needed to automate the fish naming correction in the database. In this study, we developed a deep-learning-based model as the core of the intelligent system. The proposed model achieved 89% accuracy for the classification of three genera in Siluformes order: Mystus, Hemibagrus, and Glyptothorax.

Solar dryer is typically used for agricultural purposes in Indonesia. There are many economically important crops requiring storage or drying under particular environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. High temperatures inside solar dryer prevents the growth of microorganism, and quickly reduce moisture content from the substance. A hybrid solar dryer is generally considered to provide the most optimum solution, however solar panels may be expensive and they still only provide heat or energy in the daytime. Hence, we propose here a new kind of hybrid solar dryer for 24/7 optimum conditions for crops - enabled by recent advances in energy technologies as well as Industry 4.0. This study aims to create an efficient, affordable and a self-sufficient intelligent energy system that will be applied to agriculture for storage or drying purposes by measuring the energy needs for the optimal drying system. Therefore, it is crucial to estimate and assess the critical energy needs for such new systems in order to optimize and design such smart solar dryer (SSD) system especially for Indonesia's agricultural needs. We use design experience of our industry partner (PT Impack Pratama Industri, Indonesia) who has been working extensively on such solar dryer dome (SDD) based on polycarbonate material (only solar irradiation, no other technologies) and theoretical framework based on first principles in thermodynamics to estimate and assess critical energy needs for such dome with all the smart technologies. The calculation was performed based on Mollier diagram and the result still a rough estimation of energy required.

The transfer of land has an impact on the decreasing of the agricultural land area, so it is necessary to plan the right cropping pattern as an effort to increase the productivity of agricultural cultivation. Also, Climate is one of the factors influencing the determination of cropping pattern in a region. Analysis of climatic characteristics in the determination of cropping pattern not only based on oldeman climatic classification. At the same time, the study of groundwater availability for plants and climogram of climatic elements is needed in determining planting schedule which is suitable for planting and determination of irrigation water supply, either the right amount of time. This study aims to identify and build spatial of the oldeman climate classification. It also determines the cropping pattern for seasonal crops based on the calculation of water balance and climogram (rainfall and air temperature) in each type of climate oldeman district of Cirebon and surrounding areas. Data used monthly rainfall data period 1981-2010 from BMKG Jatiwangi station and air temperature data, plant coefficient and the base map of Cirebon region. The analysis method includes classification of Oldeman climate type, spatial data processing, water balance calculation by Thorntwaite & Matter method and making climogram (rainfall and temperature) with: k = p0 + p1/FC; p0 = 1.000412351; p1 = -1.073807306 and determination of planting pattern of each type of oldeman

Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based genomics data have a huge potential to be used in transcriptomic profiling of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC) to study the biosynthesis mechanism behind it. The high dimensionality of NGS data is the main challenge in performing the data analysis to extract useful information. In this workflow pipeline, memory-efficient Linux-based software such as HISAT2 and HTSeq are utilized to process the raw NGS data. Furthermore, Differential Expression Gene (DEG) list can be obtained by performing advanced analysis to the aligned Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) sequence using the edgeR protocol. This DEG list is one of the main inputs of biological pathway analysis that can be done in DAVID and PANTHER web-based software. Both tools generate a different pathway result related to inflammation.

The impact of melamine exposure on kidney outcomes in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) patients remains unclear. In this prospective cohort study, 561 T2D patients during October 2016 and June 2020 were enrolled and followed until December 2021. Baseline one-spot urinary corrected melamine levels were measured by LC-MS/MS. Average daily intake (ADI) of melamine represented environmental melamine exposure in daily life, and was estimated using urinary corrected melamine level by creatinine excretion (CE)-based model. Primary kidney outcomes were defined as doubling of serum creatinine levels or end stage kidney disease (ESKD), and secondary kidney outcomes included rapid decline in kidney function as estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline >5 ml/min/1.73 m2/year. Baseline median urinary corrected melamine levels and estimated DI of melamine were 0.8 μg/mmol and 0.3 μg/kg/day in 561 T2D patients. During 3.7 years of follow-up, urinary corrected melamine level was positively correlated with reaching composite outcomes of either doubling of serum creation levels or ESKD and rapid decline in kidney function. Those with the highest quartile of urinary corrected melamine had 2.96-fold risk of composite outcomes of either doubling of serum creation levels or ESKD and 2.47-fold risk of eGFR decline >5 ml/min/1.73 m2/year. Estimated ADI of melamine also had significant correlation with adverse kidney outcomes. Furthermore, the positive relationship between melamine exposure and rapid decline in kidney function was only found in T2D patients with male, baseline eGFR ≥60 ml/min/1.73 m2 or glycated hemoglobin ≤7%. In conclusion, melamine exposure is significantly associated with adverse kidney outcomes in T2D patients, especially in those with male, well sugar control or good baseline kidney function. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

The role of climate can be affected by plants. The weather can accelerate and multiply the existence of various plant pests and diseases, accelerate the growth and development of grass among plants, and encourage the emergence of infection and significant damage to plants. The elements of climate that affect the growth of plants are one of them is rainfall. In this paper, we performed the simulation using the non-parametric penalized spline (PSPLINE) method and studied the effect on rice production in Lampung. It can be concluded that the increasing fluctuation, frequency, and intensity of climate anomalies in the last decade caused by the ENSO phenomenon have an impact on changes in distribution patterns, intensity, and period of the wet season so that the start of the rainy season and the dry season becomes too late. As a result, there is a seasonal shift from normal average conditions that can ultimately have severe implications for food crops. In a nutshell penalized spline gives high accuracy with R 2 = 96.227% and MAPE = 1.62%.

Cooking oil fumes (COFs) comprised of a mixture of cancer-causing volatile organic aldehydes (VOAs), particularly trans, trans-2,4-decadienal (t,t-DDE), 4-hydroxy-hexenal (4-HHE), and 4-hydroxy-nonenal (4-HNE). Monitoring toxic VOAs levels in people exposed to different cooking conditions is vital to predicting the cancer risk. For this purpose, we developed a fast tissue extraction (FaTEx) technique combined with UHPLC-MS/MS to monitor three toxic VOAs in mice lung tissue samples. FaTEx pre-treatment protocol was developed by combining two syringes for extraction and clean-up process. The various procedural steps affecting the FaTEx sample pre-treatment process were optimized to enhance the target VOAs’ extraction efficiency from the sample matrix. Under the optimal experimental conditions, results exhibit good correlation coefficient values > 0.99, detection limits were between 0.5–3 ng/g, quantification limits were between 1–10 ng/g, and the matrix effect was © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

The quest for viable and scalable biofuel sources has been at the forefront of scientific innovation for the past three decades. Due to its rich chemical constituents, microalgal biomass has emerged as a pivotal sustainable and scalable feedstock for biorefineries. This comprehensive review critically analyzes the different types of microalgae feedstock, concurrent extraction technologies, bio-pre-treatment procedures, and the key chemical and physical parameters influencing lipid formation and algal biofuel production. We propose a novel approach of photo-initiated culturing of algal biomass using photobioreactors (PBRs) to address the limitations of concurrent space and time-related constraints. The innovative photo bio-refinery strategy presented herein aims to enhance sustainability factors while minimizing emissions, catering to the needs of futuristic non-electric vehicles. A comparative quality analysis of microalgae-derived biofuel against conventional fossil fuels and other biofuels is conducted, considering chemical, environmental, economic, and social perspectives. Furthermore, we elucidate the efficacy of bio-pre-treatment strategies such as dehydration, hydrothermal liquefaction, pyrolysis, and gasification in optimizing biofuel production. The proposed photo biorefineries exhibit the potential to yield a diverse range of value-added products, including biodiesel, biogases, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, bio-alcohols, dyes, proteins, carotenoids, and drug vitals. This review provides a comprehensive framework for the development of sustainable and efficient microalgae-based biorefineries, paving the way for a greener and more economically viable future in the biofuel industry. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

KEHATI AQUA Park is one of the green areas managed by PT. Tirta Investama Klaten (Klaten Factory). This area is located in Wangen and Ponggok Villages, Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency, Central Java, and is an integral part of the company’s seriousness in carbon reduction movement. When maintenance of the area is important for the sustainability of the park, there is however no data on the trees inventory in the area. Therefore, this study aims to invent the trees at KEHATI AQUA Park and evaluate the potential of the area to become a carbon sink using *** application. This study was conducted at the KEHATI AQUA Park. The census method was performed to collect tree data, and the result was recorded in *** application. The carbon stock calculation was estimated using the application according to the tree data submitted in the application. The study included a total of 1048 plantation spots in 51 tree species. From those numbers, about 738 trees existed, and the remaining spots were blank spaces. Based on the condition of the trees, those were 660 good trees, 17 dry trees, and 61 under pest infection. The carbon stock estimation at KEHATI AQUA Park Klaten in the next five years (2026) is around 40 tons of carbon. Therefore, it can be concluded that the park is valuable as an area to preserve biodiversity and as a carbon sink.

Indonesia is one of the biggest palm oil exporters in the world. For Indonesia to stay competitive in thepalm oil industry, the harvesting and evacuating process in its oil palm plantation need to be optimized. This research introduces machinerycalled as Smart Crane Grabber. This machinery can be used for automatic harvesting and evacuation process of oil palm fresh fruit bunch. To enable automation, Smart Crane Grabber is equipped with an Artificial Intelligencesystem for automatic ripeness sorting. TheArtificial Intelligence system developed for Smart Crane Grabber achieves 71.34% accuracy by using only 400 images as preliminary training data.
