Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)provides a promising way to convert CO_(2)to *** multicarbon(C_(2+))products,especially ethylene,are of great interest due to their versatile industrial ***,selectively reducing CO_(2)to ethylene is still challenging as the additional energy required for the C–C coupling step results in large overpotential and many competing ***,mechanistic understanding of the key steps and preferred reaction pathways/conditions,as well as rational design of novel catalysts for ethylene production have been regarded as promising approaches to achieving the highly efficient and selective CO_(2)*** this review,we first illustrate the key steps for CO_(2)RR to ethylene(e.g.,CO_(2)adsorption/activation,formation of~*CO intermediate,C–C coupling step),offering mechanistic understanding of CO_(2)RR conversion to *** the alternative reaction pathways and conditions for the formation of ethylene and competitive products(C_1 and other C_(2+)products)are investigated,guiding the further design and development of preferred conditions for ethylene *** strategies of Cu-based catalysts for CO_(2)RR-ethylene are further summarized,and the correlations of reaction mechanism/pathways,engineering strategies and selectivity are ***,major challenges and perspectives in the research area of CO_(2)RR are proposed for future development and practical applications.

The performance of a battery pack is greatly affected by an imbalance between the cells. Cell balancing is a very important criterion for Battery Management System (BMS) to operate properly. This paper presents the various cell balancing topologies which have been presented by various researchers in the past years. A novel topology has also been discussed, which improves the overall efficiency of the components being used. Various comparison parameters such as Control, Speed, Efficiency, Power Effects, Manufacturability, Size, and Cost have been considered. © 2022 IEEE.

The rapid development and usage of digital technologies in modern intelligent systems and applications bring critical challenges on data security and privacy. It is essential to allow cross-organizational data sharing to achieve smart service provisioning, while preventing unauthorized access and data leak to ensure end users' efficient and secure collaborations. Federated Learning (FL) offers a promising pathway to enable innovative collaboration across multiple organizations. However, more stringent security policies are needed to ensure authenticity of participating entities, safeguard data during communication, and prevent malicious activities. In this paper, we propose a Decentralized Federated Graph Learning (FGL) with Lightweight Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) model, named DFGL-LZTA, to provide context-aware security with dynamic defense policy update, while maintaining computational and communication efficiency in resource-constrained environments, for highly distributed and heterogeneous systems in next-generation networking. Specifically, with a re-designed lightweight ZTA, which leverages adaptive privacy preservation and reputation-based aggregation together to tackle multi-level security threats (e.g., data-level, model-level, and identity-level attacks), a Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) based Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) agent is introduced to enable the real-time and adaptive security policy update and optimization based on contextual features. A hierarchical Graph Attention Network (GAT) mechanism is then improved and applied to facilitate the dynamic subgraph learning in local training with a layer-wise architecture, while a so-called sparse global aggregation scheme is developed to balance the communication efficiency and model robustness in a P2P manner. High-quality medical microscopic images used for diseases detection are expensive and difficult to ***,low-resolution images are favorable due to their low storage space and ease of sharing,where the images can be enlarged when needed using Super-Resolution(SR)***,it is important to maintain the shape and size of the medical images while enlarging *** of the problems facing SR is that the performance of medical image diagnosis is very poor due to the deterioration of the reconstructed image ***,this paper suggests a multi-SR and classification framework based on Generative Adversarial Network(GAN)to generate high-resolution images with higher quality and finer details to reduce *** proposed framework comprises five GAN models:Enhanced SR Generative Adversarial Networks(ESRGAN),Enhanced deep SR GAN(EDSRGAN),Sub-Pixel-GAN,SRGAN,and Efficient Wider Activation-B GAN(WDSR-b-GAN).To train the proposed models,we have employed images from the famous BreakHis dataset and enlarged them by 4×and 16×upscale factors with the ground truth of the size of 256×256×***,several evaluation metrics like Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR),Mean Squared Error(MSE),Structural Similarity Index(SSIM),Multiscale Structural Similarity Index(MS-SSIM),and histogram are applied to make comprehensive and objective comparisons to determine the best methods in terms of efficiency,training time,and storage *** obtained results reveal the superiority of the proposed models over traditional and benchmark models in terms of color and texture restoration and detection by achieving an accuracy of 99.7433%.

This article discusses the effect of laser emission power and PON network range when GPON and XGSPON systems coexist. The analysis aims to understand how these two factors influence the overall performance and stability of the coexistence between the two optical network technologies. In order to also meet the increasing demand for data rates and new services such as videoconferencing and very high-quality television (4K, 6K,...etc). the coexistence system is preferred, allowing effective collaboration between GPON and XGSPON *** work deals with the performance evaluation of GPON and XGSPON systems, focusing on reconciliations and adjustments related to BER error rates and Q factor. The study explores different scenarios by adjusting the laser power from -12 dBm to 12 dBm and varying the array range from 10 km to 120 km. The main objective is to determine the best combination of laser power and network range to ensure optimal performance for coexistence systems. © 2024 IEEE.

A batch microfabrication of a self-cleaning,ultradurable electrochemical sensor employing a BDD film for the online monitoring of free chlorine in tap water

Free chlorine is one of the key water quality parameters in tap ***,a free chlorine sensor with the characteristics of batch processing,durability,antibiofouling/antiorganic passivation and in situ monitoring of free chlorine in tap water continues to be a challenging *** this paper,a novel silicon-based electrochemical sensor for free chlorine that can self-clean and be mass produced via microfabrication technique/MEMS(Micro-Electro-Mechanical System)is proposed.A liquid-conjugated Ag/AgCI reference electrode is fabricated,and electrochemically stable BDD/Pt is employed as the working/counter electrode to verify the effectiveness of the as-fabricated sensor for free chlorine *** sensor demonstrates an acceptable limit of detection(0.056 mg/L)and desirable linearity(R^(2)=0.998).Particularly,at a potential of+2.5 V,hydroxyl radicals are generated on the BBD electrode by electrolyzing water,which then remove the organic matter attached to the surface of the sensor though an electrochemical digestion *** performance of the fouled sensor recovers from 50.2 to 94.1%compared with the initial state after self-cleaning for 30 *** addition,by employing the MEMS technique,favorable response consistency and high reproducibility(RSD<4.05%)are observed,offering the opportunity to mass produce the proposed sensor in the future.A desirable linear dependency between the pH,temperature,and flow rate and the detection of free chlorine is observed,ensuring the accuracy of the sensor with any hydrologic *** interesting sensing and selfcleaning behavior of the as-proposed sensor indicate that this study of the mass production of free chlorine sensors by MEMS is successful in developing a competitive device for the online monitoring of free chlorine in tap water.

Cryptographic APIs are essential for ensuring the security of software systems. However, many research studies have revealed that the misuse of cryptographic APIs is commonly widespread. Detecting such misuse in Python poses challenges due to its intricate features, including dynamic features and pass-by-object-reference. Existing tools lack the precision and accuracy to tackle these challenges, leading to both high false positives and false negatives. In this work, we propose a specific Python Cryptographic Abstract Syntax Tree (PCAST) to represent the structure of source code, which rewrites AST nodes to handle complex Python features. Based on PCAST, we design and implement CryptoPyt, a static code analysis tool that leverages precise taint analysis and 17 cryptographic misuse rules to automatically identify potential cryptographic APIs misuse in Python projects. We conduct an in-depth analysis of all the APIs within the popular 21 Python cryptographic libraries and design five kinds of taint detectors to perform intra-procedural and inter-function analysis on the APIs and arguments. To demonstrate the effectiveness of CryptoPyt, we conduct experiments with six state-of-the-art tools (i.e., Cryptolation, LICMA, Bandit, Dlint, Semgrep and CodeQL) on both the labeled benchmark PyCryptoBench and the real-world Python cryptographic projects datasets PCAMD. Our evaluations show that CryptoPyt achieves an F1 score of 0.80 on PyCryptoBench and a recall rate of 99.08% on PCAMD. Furthermore, we disclose the discovered critical issues to the developers and seven high-level CVE IDs have been assigned to these findings. Our tool contributes to enhancing the security of Python cryptographic software. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, a novel filtering balun based on microstrip-to-slotline transition is proposed. Utilizing the inherent out-of-phase electric field distributions on the adjacent grounds of slotline, the balun function is realized. In order to realize the wide notched-band and stopband performance for radio astronomical applications, spoof surface plasmon polariton (SSPP) metamaterial and multi-mode hairpin ring resonators (HRRs) are adopted. With these novel structures loaded, the proposed filtering balun exhibits a wide band from 1GHz to 6 GHz. The notched band is from 3.2 GHz to 4.4 GHz, within the notched band, the rejection level is better than 15 dB. Besides, the out-of-band suppression is below 35 dB in the wide frequency range from 6 GHz to 8 GHz. © 2023 IEEE.

The traditional recognition methods of wheel hubs are mainly based on extracted feature matching. In practical production, their accuracy, robustness and processing speed are usually greatly affected. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes a recognition method based on convolutional neural network. The basic steps include two parts: wheel image pre-processing and wheel model classification. The image processing method, mainly using the detection algorithm of hough circles, obtains the center coordinates and radius of the wheel. Then it maps the ring-shaped wheel in right-angle coordinates to polar coordinates by the center coordinates and radius. This stepcan extract the ring-shaped feature information of the wheel image and reduce the influence generated by redundant features. Then a network architecture with an improved Resnet is designed to classify the wheel models. Finally, the wheel model recognition algorithm is evaluated, and the effectiveness of the method is verified through the comparison experiments of SVM, KNN and other models. The experiments show that the recognition accuracy can reach about 99.8% for 10 kinds of wheels. © 2023 IEEE.

Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have the advantages of high conversion efficiency, low working noise, and environmental protection. Thus, they are widely used in large-scale power generation, combined heat power, peak load-regulating energy storage, and other fields. In the actual working process of SOFCs, the battery performance will decline sharply due to extreme conditions such as overtemperature and peroxide, and the service life will be terminated. Remote monitoring of fuel cells can detect problems in time and restore the battery’s performance by restoring the battery, thereby extending its service life. The data generated by fuel cells during operation have a strong temporal correlation. To discover the future state of fuel cells in time and solve the problem that a large number of codes are needed for monitoring, this paper designs a remote monitoring system of fuel cells with low-code based on Node-RED and Ali Cloud. The output current of fuel cells is predicted by using the improved back propagation neural network based on Levenberg-Marguardt (LM-BPNN) algorithm. The test result of LM-BPNN shows that the test samples have a root mean square error of 0.172, a mean absolute percentage error of 3.85%, and a coefficient of determination of 0.998. © 2023 SPIE.
