The stock market price is influenced by many factors both domestic and international factors. To help stock traders in make buying or selling decision, a stock price prediction model is needed. In this paper, a stock closing price prediction system is introduced. We utilized 17 financial factors, i.e., 8 technical analysis factors (Crude oil price, Gold spot, Thai Baht to US Dollar exchange rate, High price, Low price, Opening price, Closing price, and Volume) and 9 fundamental factors (Exponential moving average, Relative strength index, Current ratio, Return on equity ratio, Return on assets ratio, Net profit margin ratio, Debt to equity ratio, Price to earning ratio, and Price to book value) from 18 previous working days as our inputs. We then computed chaos centroids from each factor. Finally, to predict the Monday closing price, the fuzzy support vector regression with the grey wolf optimization is utilized. There are 29 companies in 6 industry groups, i.e., RESOURCE, SERVICE, INDUS, PROPCON, AGRO, and TECH, considered in this research. We found that the minimum root mean square error of the blind test set is 0.3698 and the maximum of that is 11.66. However, the prediction trend of each company is very similar to the real closing price.

There are critical conversations happening right now around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in engineering professions and engineering educational settings. Educational settings need to prepare students to collaborate with diverse populations in their engineering workplace. DEI concepts can be incorporated in first-year engineering curriculum to enhance student design and exposure to diverse cultures during this unique design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) teaching module. This paper describes the development of a DfAM workshop that incorporates historical and cultural themes. Students' perception of the design experience will be measured using an engineering self-efficacy validated tool, pre- and post-workshop survey, and measured design outcomes (CAD model) after engaging in a DfAM workshop. The workshop uses activities guided by the Kern engineering Entrepreneurial Network (KEEN) framework which includes curiosity, connections, and creating value. The workshop introduces the entrepreneurial-minded learning (EML) with DEI efforts through the design prompt. It is beneficial to make connections from historical designs to inspire novel approaches to design opportunities. Reflecting on individual's unique designs and their individual influences from historical approaches can bring awareness. It can be difficult to initiate conversations around DEI, especially in engineering design classrooms. The incorporation of DEI in this DfAM workshop helps to naturally coach students to engage in an inclusive classroom environment where they feel an increased sense of belonging and become more socially aware of others differing cultures by talking about one's own unique background with classmates. This workshop spearheads discussions on diversity, equity, and inclusion focused on engineering design. Cardioassist therapy may cause centrifugal pump abnormalities. This study, purpose is to detect abnormalities that occur during cardioassist therapy. As basic study, we measured the vibration of centrifugal pump head used in external cardioassist circulation circuit based on the method used for industrial equipment diagnosis. Pump heads of two pumps were used in construction of circulation circuits. Sensor was secured to pump head, rotational frequency was set in increments of 500 rpm, and water was circulated through circuit. Vibrational quantities were analyzed, and differences between two pump heads were examined. Mean values of the displacement quantities were calculated for pump heads and different rotational frequencies. Results showed an increase in vibration with increasing rotational frequency and a difference between mean value of pump head displacement. In further studies, we will investigate possibility of quantitative recognition of abnormalities by measuring vibration in a centrifugal pump head with a simulated abnormality. © 2021, Japan Soc. of Med. Malaria can be spread to human by anopheles female mosquitoes. There are four prevalent Plasmodium species responsible for malaria in humans. One of the four species, Plasmodium vivax or P. vivax, is selected in this paper. Its infected cell detection system based on image processing is developed. We automatically generate membership functions of inputs using the possibilistic fuzzy C-means. The Wang-Mendel (WM) method is used to automatically generate rules in the Mamdani fuzzy inference system. Although there are misclassifications because of the wrongly classified cells with similar characteristics to the opposite class, the correct classification rate of the training data is 93.65%. Whereas that of the blind test data set is 99.58%.

Significance: Spatial frequency domain imaging (SFDI) is an emerging optical imaging modality for visualizing tissue absorption and scattering properties. This approach is promising for noninvasive wide field-of-view (FOV) monitoring of biophysiological processes in vivo. Aim: We aim to develop deep-learning-enabled spatial frequency domain imaging (SFDI-net) for real-time large FOV imaging of the optical, structural, and physiological properties and demonstrate its application for probing the spatiotemporal dynamics of skin physiology. Approach: SFDI-net, based on mapping of a two-layer structure into an equivalent homogeneous medium for spatially modulated light and with a convolutional neural network architecture, produces two-dimensional maps of optical, structural, and physiological parameters for bilayered tissue, including cutaneous hemoglobin concentration, oxygen saturation, scattering properties (reduced scattering coefficient and scattering power), melanin content, surface roughness, and epidermal thickness, with visible spatially modulated light at the camera frame rate. Results: Compared with traditional approaches, SFDI-net achieves a real-time inversion speed and significantly improves image quality by effectively suppressing noise while preserving tissue structure without oversmoothing. We demonstrate the application of the SFDI-net for monitoring the spatiotemporal dynamics of forearm skin physiology in reactive hyperemia and rhythmic respiration and reveal their intricate patterns in hemodynamics. Conclusions: Deep-learning-enabled spatial frequency domain imaging and SFDI-net may offer insights into the cardiorespiratory system and have promising clinical utility for disease diagnosis, surveillance, and therapeutic assessment. Future hardware and software advancements will bring SFDI-net to clinical practice. © 2025 SPIE. All rights reserved.

Neutrophils are known to accumulate in an acidified inflammatory microenvironment, but the effects of environmental factors on neutrophils are not fully understood. Here, we investigated the response of neutrophil-like differentiated human promyelocytic leukemia cells (HL-60) to pH changes. A previously developed microfluidic device that enables control of the oxygen concentration was used to control the pH in a microenvironment. The CO2 concentration in the cell culture medium was controlled by gas exchange between the media and gas channels, thereby establishing certain pH gradients based on chemical equilibrium. The device enabled the generation of a pH 8.5 to 7.1 gradient when gas mixtures of 1% and 50% CO2 were supplied to the left and right gas channels, respectively. Neutrophil-like differentiated HL-60 cells were then seeded into the media channels to observe their cellular dynamics under the pH gradient. Quantitative evaluation showed that cell migration was suppressed in the low-pH (high CO2 concentration) region compared to the high-pH (low CO2 concentration) region, whereas no clear chemotactic migration in response to pH was observed. © 2023 IEEE.

Development of advance surface Electromyogram (sEMG)-based Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems is of paramount importance to pave the way towards emergence of futuristic Cyber-Physical-Human (CPH) worlds. In this context, the main focus of recent literature was on development of different Deep Neural Network (DNN)-based architectures that perform Hand Gesture Recognition (HGR) at a macroscopic level (i.e., directly from sEMG signals). At the same time, advancements in acquisition of High-Density sEMG signals (HD-sEMG) have resulted in a surge of significant interest on sEMG decomposition techniques to extract microscopic neural drive information. However, due to complexities of sEMG decomposition and added computational overhead, HGR at microscopic level is less explored than its aforementioned macroscopic-level, DNN-based counterparts. In this regard, we propose the HYDRA-HGR framework, which is a hybrid model for HGR that simultaneously extracts a set of temporal and spatial features through its two independent Vision Transformer (ViT)-based parallel architectures (the so called Macro and Micro paths). The Macro Path is trained directly on the pre-processed HD-sEMG signals, while the Micro path is fed with the p-to-p values of the extracted Motor Unit Action Potentials (MUAPs) of each source. Extracted features at macroscopic and microscopic levels are then coupled via a Fully Connected (FC) fusion layer for final gesture classification. We evaluate the proposed hybrid HYDRA-HGR framework through a recently released HD-sEMG dataset, and show that it significantly outperforms its stand-alone counterparts. The proposed HYDRA-HGR framework achieves average accuracy of 94.86% for the 250 ms window size, which is 5.52 % and 8.22 % higher than that of the Macro and Micro paths, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

The Ozone-Ethylene Radical generation technology (OER) process generates large amounts of electrically neutral OH radicals by mixing an unsaturated hydrocarbon gas with a highly concentrated ozone gas under dust- and water-free conditions. Here, we examined the potential of using the OER process as a pretreatment to activate chip surfaces before hybrid bonding. Through real-time semi-quantitative radical concentration measurement, we confirmed that a large amount of OH radicals can be supplied to the surface of a bonding substrate placed in a custom-made vacuum chamber by mixing highly concentrated (>80%) ozone gas and ethylene gas under optimized process conditions. We also confirmed that the OER process is suitable as a pretreatment before hybrid bonding in the sense that both dielectric layer hydrophilization for strong adhesive bonding and a negligibly small Cu-Cu interface resistance are satisfied simultaneously. A connection test using a daisy chain of 5000 Cu electrodes assembled after OER pretreatment and hybrid bonding showed that overall interface resistance was as small as that afforded by a conventional citric acid hydration process. In addition, for surfaces for which OER is less effective at activation compared with plasma treatment (i.e., that of silicon thermal oxide films), sequential treatment with a mild remote plasma followed by OER works well for producing reliable, strong hybrid bonding. In summary, because the OER process is plasma- and water-free, the use of OER pretreatment not only simplifies the overall hybrid bonding process but also provides an interface with improved reliability.
