Joint Optimization of Offloading and Caching in Full-Duplex-Enabled Edge Computing Networks

Edge computing (EC) reduces task processing and content download delay by providing computation and caching resources directly to task offloading (TO) users and content request (CR) users. However, existing studies often focus exclusively on either TO users or CR users within EC networks, neglecting the interaction between these two groups. To address this gap, we investigate the offloading and caching decision-making in scenarios where TO and CR users coexist. Furthermore, we employ full-duplex (FD) technology to enhance spectral utilization for edge-end transmissions. Specifically, we jointly optimize offloading and caching in FD-enabled EC networks. To accomplish this, we decompose the formulated optimization problem into three sub-problems using the alternating optimization (AO) method. We then propose a three-subproblem alternating iterative delay minimization algorithm to effectively tackle the challenges of offloading and caching. Additionally, we analyze the convergence and complexity of our proposed algorithm. Finally, we conduct extensive simulations to evaluate the effectiveness of our approach. The simulation results demonstrate that the delay reduction achieved by our algorithm is between 24.78% and 89.23% greater than that of comparative algorithms. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Most existing transformer-based trackers use ViT [1] as the backbone to extract and fuse feature tokens of target templates and search region. Since both the target template and the search region contain background information, their tokens are prone to background interference in interaction that affects tracking performance. We propose a GFATrack that combines spatiotemporal information with prominent target features. The tracker mainly consists of the Dynamic Template Refinement branch and the Search Feature Enhancement branch. The former activates the target features in the dynamic template and provides temporal information. The latter enhances search features by aggregating spatial information from the initial template and temporal information from the dynamic template to achieve precise tracking. Our proposed Feature Activation Module can effectively fuse refined features with reference features and highlight high-similarity features among them. At the same time, we propose a concise and effective dynamic threshold update strategy to capture time context update dynamic templates from historical prediction results. Many experiments have verified the effectiveness and latest performance of the proposed method.

ChiseLLM: Unleashing the Power of Reasoning LLMs for Chisel Agile Hardware Development

The growing demand for Domain-Specific Architecture (DSA) has driven the development of Agile Hardware Development Methodology (AHDM). Hardware Construction Language (HCL) like Chisel offers high-level abstraction features, making it an ideal language for HCL-Based AHDM. While Large Language Models (LLMs) excel in code generation tasks, they still face challenges with Chisel generation, particularly regarding syntax correctness and design variability. Recent reasoning models have significantly enhanced code generation capabilities through test-time scaling techniques. However, we found that reasoning models without domain adaptation cannot bring substantial benefits to Chisel code generation tasks. This paper presents ChiseLLM, a solution comprising data processing and transformation, prompt-guided reasoning trace synthesis, and domain-adapted model training. We constructed high-quality datasets from public RTL code resources and guided the model to adopt structured thinking patterns through prompt enhancement methods. Experiments demonstrate that our ChiseLLM-7B and ChiseLLM-32B models improved syntax correctness by 18.85% and 26.32% respectively over base models, while increasing variability design ability by 47.58% compared to baseline reasoning models. Our datasets and models are publicly available, providing high-performance, cost-effective models for HCL-Based AHDM, and offering an effective baseline for future research. Galaxy Walker: Geometry-aware VLMs For Galaxy-scale Understanding

Modern vision-language models (VLMs) develop patch embedding and convolution backbone within vector space, especially Euclidean ones, at the very founding. When expanding VLMs to a galaxy scale for understanding astronomical phenomena, the integration of spherical space for planetary orbits and hyperbolic spaces for black holes raises two formidable challenges. a) The current pretraining model is confined to Euclidean space rather than a comprehensive geometric embedding. b) The predominant architecture lacks suitable backbones for anisotropic physical geometries. In this paper, we introduced Galaxy-Walker, a geometry-aware VLM, for the universe-level vision understanding tasks. We proposed the geometry prompt that generates geometry tokens by random walks across diverse spaces on a multi-scale physical graph, along with a geometry adapter that compresses and reshapes the space anisotropy in a mixture-of-experts manner. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach, with Galaxy-Walker achieving state-of-the-art performance in both galaxy property estimation (R2 scores up to 0.91) and morphology classification tasks (up to +0.17 F1 improvement in challenging features), significantly outperforming both domain-specific models and general-purpose VLMs. © 2025, CC BY.

Biomedical Named Entity Recognition (NER) is a crucial task in extracting information from biomedical texts. However, the diversity of professional terminology, semantic complexity, and the widespread presence of synonyms pose significant challenges. Traditional methods that rely on sequence labeling training datasets often struggle to handle these complexities. To address this, we introduce a novel framework for BioNER, termed DMNER, which leverages external knowledge and operates in two steps: entity boundary detection and entity category identification through matching. The core of DMNER is its second step, which determines the entity category by retrieving similar entities and their categories from a knowledge dictionary using semantic similarity matching. Our experiments on 10 biomedical datasets demonstrate that DMNER outperforms baselines across these tasks, proving its effectiveness and adaptability. DMNER is versatile and can be applied to various NER tasks, including supervised NER, distantly supervised NER, and NER on multiple datasets with disjoint label sets. Real-world data is often unbalanced and exhibits long-tailed distribution over classes. Vanilla classification models trained on imbalanced datasets inherently exhibit bias towards dominant classes. Existing debiasing methods mostly balance the data or the loss during training. Nevertheless, these data-acquiring methods are not suitable for situations where training data are unavailable. In this paper, we appeal to solutions without access to training data and propose a datafree debiasing (Free-D) method that serves as a plug-and-play module for any standard classification model. Specifically, our method adjusts both the feature representation via feature representation shifting and the classifier weight via class prior compensation in a data-free manner. We evaluate and compare our methods on four long-tailed visual recognition datasets, i.e., long-tailed CIFAR-10/-100, ImageNet-LT, and Places-LT. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed data-free method achieves comparable results of other data-acquired methods. © 2022 IEEE.

Idea23D: Collaborative LMM Agents Enable 3D Model Generation from Interleaved Multimodal Inputs

With the success of 2D diffusion models, 2D AIGC content has already transformed our lives. Recently, this success has been extended to 3D AIGC, with state-of-the-art methods generating textured 3D models from single images or text. However, we argue that current 3D AIGC methods still don’t fully unleash human creativity. We often imagine 3D content made from multimodal inputs, such as what it would look like if my pet bunny were eating a doughnut on the table. In this paper, we explore a novel 3D AIGC approach: generating 3D content from IDEAs. An IDEA is a multimodal input composed of text, image, and 3D models. To our knowledge, this challenging and exciting 3D AIGC setting has not been studied before. We propose the new framework Idea23D, which combines three agents based on large multimodal models (LMMs) and existing algorithmic tools. These three LMM-based agents are tasked with prompt generation, model selection, and feedback reflection. They collaborate and critique each other in a fully automated loop, without human intervention. The framework then generates a text prompt to create 3D models that align closely with the input IDEAs. We demonstrate impressive 3D AIGC results that surpass previous methods. To comprehensively assess the 3D AIGC capabilities of Idea23D, we introduce the Eval3DAIGC-198 dataset, containing 198 multimodal inputs for 3D generation tasks. This dataset evaluates the alignment between generated 3D content and input IDEAs. Our user study and quantitative results show that Idea23D significantly improves the success rate and accuracy of 3D generation, with excellent compatibility across various LMM, Text-to-Image, and Image-to-3D models. For safety guard and crime prevention, video surveillance systems have been pervasively deployed in many security-critical scenarios, such as the residence, retail stores, and banks. However, these systems could be infiltrated by the adversary and the video streams would be modified or replaced, i.e., under the video forgery attack. The prevalence of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and the emergence of Deepfake-like techniques severely emphasize the vulnerability of video surveillance systems under such attacks. To secure existing surveillance systems, in this paper we propose a vision-WiFi cross-modal video forgery detection system, namely WiSil. Leveraging a theoretical model based on the principle of signal propagation, WiSil constructs wave front information of the object in the monitoring area from WiFi signals. With a well-designed deep learning network, WiSil further recovers silhouettes from the wave front information. Based on a Siamese network-based semantic feature extractor, WiSil can eventually determine whether a frame is manipulated by comparing the semantic feature vectors extracted from the video’s silhouette with those extracted from the WiFi’s silhouette. Extensive experiments show that WiSil can achieve 95% accuracy in detecting tampered frames. Moreover, WiSil is robust against environment and person changes.

Animal pose estimation is often constrained by the scarcity of annotations and the diversity of scenarios and species. The pseudo-label generation based unsupervised domain adaptation paradigm, which discriminates the predicted keypoints of unlabeled data based on the skeleton position consistency, has demonstrated effectiveness for such problems. However, existing methods generate pseudo-labels with massive false positives, because they cannot effectively distinguish sample pairs with the same errors. In this study, we propose a cross-domain animal pose estimation model from a novel perspective of skeleton anomaly learning. We construct a graph contrastive learning mechanism to acquire the skeleton anomaly-aware knowledge, which enables the generation of accurate pseudo-labels for target domain and imposes graph constraint on unlabeled data. And a skeleton anomaly-feedback based domain adaptation framework is designed to facilitate implicit alignment of object-specific features and joint training of cross-domain. Besides, we propose a novel rat pose dataset named UDARP-9.4K to address the gap of small-sized animal pose datasets encompassing diverse experimental scenarios. The related datasets are reviewed and evaluated in detail. Extensive experiments are conducted on UDARP-9.4K and two public datasets to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed model in cross-scenarios and cross-species animal pose estimation tasks. Further analysis reveals the effectiveness of the proposed model for skeleton structure feature learning. The UDARP-9.4K dataset is available here. © 1991-2012 IEEE.
