The method of gaze tracking based on iris detection

This paper presents a new method of gaze tracking based on iris detection for images of human eyes captured by ordinary PC camera. In the basis of traditional iris detection, this paper improves the circle detection based on Hough transform by self-adopted angle step and in order to overcome the impact of light spot and noise, and presents the algorithm of interference-points elimination. The position user focus on screen is detected by comparing to the conference position after accurately calculating the centre pixel of pupil iris area. The proposed method is significant to the optimisation of network services and applications by apperceiving user experience (UE) through analysis sight movement sample of network user. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility, the correct rate is 92%, 86% in 6×4, 8×6 screen block dividing respectively under normal circumstances. © 2013 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Domain-epidemic spray and forward routing algorithm of opportunistic networks

For the current opportunistic networks routing algorithms, their message arrival rate is not high and the delivery delay is large. This paper proposes a domain-epidemic spray and forward routing algorithm. The algorithm integrates redundancy and encounter prediction strategy. According to the probability of encounters between nodes, the nodes are divided into different domains. The spray and forward strategy is used between domains and the epidemic strategy is used to forward messages within a domain. Using the message confirmation mechanism and a list which is used to record the messages that have arrived to their destination, the new algorithm can effectively reduce redundant messages. Simulation results show our algorithm can effectively improve message arrival rate and reduce end-to-end delay to some extent. © 2013 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Users' Media Cloud Assisted D2D communications for Distributed Caching Underlaying Cellular network

In cellular networks, the proximity devices may share files directly without going through the e NBs, which is called Device-to-Device communications(D2D). It has been considered as a potential technological component for the next generation of communication. In this paper, we investigate a novel framework to distribute video files from some other proximity devices through users' media cloud assisted D2 D communication. The main contributions of this work lie in: 1) Providing an efficient algorithm Media Cloud Cluster Selecting Scheme(MCCSS) to achieve the reasonable cluster; 2) Distributing the optimum updating files to the cluster heads, in order to minimize the expected D2 D communication transmission hop for files; 3) Proposing a minimum the hop method, which can ensure the user obtain required file as soon as possible. Extensive simulation results have demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed scheme.

A Multi-dimensional Index Structure Based on Improved VA-file and CAN in the Cloud

Currently,the cloud computing systems use simple key-value data processing,which cannot support similarity search efectively due to lack of efcient index structures,and with the increase of dimensionality,the existing tree-like index structures could lead to the problem of"the curse of dimensionality".In this paper,a novel VF-CAN indexing scheme is ***-CAN integrates content addressable network(CAN)based routing protocol and the improved vector approximation fle(VA-fle) *** are two index levels in this scheme:global index and local *** local index VAK-fle is built for the data in each storage ***-fle is thek-means clustering result of VA-fle approximation vectors according to their degree of *** cluster forms a separate local index fle and each fle stores the approximate vectors that are contained in the *** vector of each cluster center is stored in the cluster center information fle of corresponding storage *** the global index,storage nodes are organized into an overlay network CAN,and in order to reduce the cost of calculation,only clustering information of local index is issued to the entire overlay network through the CAN *** experimental results show that VF-CAN reduces the index storage space and improves query performance efectively.

In this paper, a novel simultaneous transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface (STAR-RIS) enhanced uplink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) communication network is investigated. Specifically, we tackle the transmit rate maximization problem for the strong user, subject to the constraints on total power consumption and the successive interference cancellation order, while guaranteeing the minimum quality-of-service requirement for the weak user. To address such a non-convex optimal problem, we introduce a novel, efficient, and low-complexity scheme. Specifically, the power allocation and receive beamforming optimization solutions are acquired in closed forms, and the transmission and reflection coefficients are obtained in semi-closed forms with a one-dimensional bisection search. Then, theoretical analysis demonstrates our proposed scheme has a lower complexity compared to the schemes with alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) and semidefinite relaxation (SDR) strategies, and the complexity advantage of our proposed scheme over the SDR and ADMM aided schemes becomes prominent when the number of RIS elements increase. Simulation results show that the proposed STAR-RIS-NOMA scheme achieves a better performance than the conventional STAR-RIS-aided orthogonal multiple access (OMA) scheme and STAR-RIS aided NOMA scheme adopting random phase shifts. More specifically, the proposed STAR-RIS-NOMA scheme outperforms the STAR-RIS-OMA scheme in terms of the strong user's rate, especially when the quality-of-service (QoS) requirements for weak user is high, or there is a significant difference channel quality between the reflecting and transmitting links. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Collusion detector based on G-N algorithm for trust model

In the open network environment, malicious attacks to the trust model have become increasingly serious. Compared with single node attacks, collusion attacks do more harm to the trust model. To solve this problem, a collusion detector based on the GN algorithm for the trust evaluation model is proposed in the open Internet environment. By analyzing the behavioral characteristics of collusion groups, the concept of flatting is defined and the G-N community mining algorithm is used to divide suspicious communities. On this basis, a collusion community detector method is proposed based on the breaking strength of suspicious communities. Simulation results show that the model has high recognition accuracy in identifying collusion nodes, so as to effectively defend against malicious attacks of collusion nodes.

We describe an efficient entanglement concentration protocol （ECP） for an arbitrary partially entangled threeelectron W state. We show that with the help of two ancillary single electrons, the concentration task can be well completed. This ECP has several advantages： Firstly, we only require one pair of partially entangled states. Secondly, only two single electrons are used during the whole protocol. Thirdly, we do not require all the parties to participate in the whole process, and only two parties are needed to perform the operation. Fourthly, the protocol can 5e repeated to obtain a high success probability. This ECP may be useful in current quantum computation and quantum communication.

Low-power task scheduling algorithm for large-scale cloud data centers

How to effectively reduce the energy consumption of large-scale data centers is a key issue in cloud computing. This paper presents a novel low-power task scheduling algorithm （L3SA） for large-scale cloud data centers. The winner tree is introduced to make the data nodes as the leaf nodes of the tree and the final winner on the purpose of reducing energy consumption is selected. The complexity of large-scale cloud data centers is fully consider, and the task comparson coefficient is defined to make task scheduling strategy more reasonable. Experiments and performance analysis show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the node utilization, and reduce the overall power consumption of the cloud data center.

Impact of MAC frame length on energy efficiency in 6LowPAN

To reach necessary end-to-end connectivity between the Internet and wireless sensor networks （WSNs）, the Internet Engineering Task Force （IETF） IPv6 over low power wireless personal area network （6LowPAN） working group has been established and introduced an adaptation layer for integration of IEEE 802.15.4 physical layer/media access control （PHY/MAC） layers and the upper layers of any Intemet protocol （IP）-based networks, such as the Internet. The energy efficiency is one of the most important performance measures in WSNs because most sensor nodes are only battery powered so we should reduce the energy consumption to the lowest to extend the life of nodes. Therefore the determination of MAC frame length should be carefully considered since that the radio frequency （RF） module consumes most the energy of a sensor node meanwhile the MAC protocol is the direct controller of RF module. In this paper, we provide a star-shaped 6LowPAN non-beacon mode with unslotted carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance （CSMA/CA） mechanism to access to the channel and model the stochastic behavior of a target end node as the M/G/1 queuing system. Analytical expressions for some parameters such as channel busy probability, packet loss probability and energy efficiency are obtained in this paper and our analytical results can clearly show the impact of MAC frame length on the energy efficiency of a target node in both ideal and lossy channel.

Robust and Passive Motion Detection with COTS WiFi Devices

Device-free Passive（DfP） detection has received increasing attention for its ability to support various pervasive applications. Instead of relying on variable Received Signal Strength（RSS）, most recent studies rely on finer-grained Channel State Information（CSI）. However, existing methods have some limitations, in that they are effective only in the Line-Of-Sight（LOS） or for more than one moving individual. In this paper, we analyze the human motion effect on CSI and propose a novel scheme for Robust Passive Motion Detection（R-PMD）. Since traditional low-pass filtering has a number of limitations with respect to data denoising, we adopt a novel Principal Component Analysis（PCA）-based filtering technique to capture the representative signals of human motion and extract the variance profile as the sensitive metric for human detection. In addition, existing schemes simply aggregate CSI values over all the antennas in MIMO systems. Instead, we investigate the sensing quality of each antenna and aggregate the best combination of antennas to achieve more accurate and robust detection. The R-PMD prototype uses off-the-shelf WiFi devices and the experimental results demonstrate that R-PMD achieves an average detection rate of 96.33% with a false alarm rate of 3.67%.
