The aim of this paper is to find a solution for route planning in a road network, where the costs of roads are uncertain. Our concept is based on the Dempster-Shafer theory and Dijkstra's algorithm, which helps to find the best routes. We model the influencing factors of the traffic congestion on the roads using uncertain probabilities described by probability intervals. Based on these intervals the cost intervals of each road can be calculated. Taking the uncertain values of costs into account an algorithm has been outlined for determination the best routes from a node to all other nodes comparing the cost intervals and using decision rules. Decision rules can be defined by the end user, if necessary node by node.

In the paper a preliminary system construction and solution of the risk management principle is given. The solution is based on the multilevel model construction and grouped risk factors. The risk management principle is given based on structured risk factors classification and on the fact, that some risk factor groups, risk factors or management actions have a weighted role in the system operation. The system parameters are represented with the fuzzy sets, and the grouped risk factors' values give intermitted result. Considering some system input parameters, which determine the risk factors' role in the decision making system, intermitted results can be weighted and forwarded to the next level of the reasoning process. The hierarchically structured, weighted risk factor groups are represented in fuzzy environment. The generally given method is applied in a diagnostics example: for the calculation of the stroke risk taking into account risk factors selected by experts.

New experimental setups dedicated to solving several signal processing problems are suggested in the paper. The setups are targeted towards a compromise between analog and digital paths of the audio signal. The paper highlights the specific features of the hardware solutions proposed here compared to the current audio system solutions. The analysis is focused on hardware aspects involving the design and implementation. The analysis aims the further use of the new solutions in low-cost audiophile loudspeaker systems.

A new concept is presented realizing controlled deflection of emerging light cone from excited crystal pins in a PET block detector. The new light sharing module consists of special double prism units optically coupled to a continuous light guide. Slope angle in the prism unit can be optimized for each pin in the array. We present results of simulations for a block detector consisting of an array with 21 × 21 pins and four 1.5" PMTs. First test results with a small 5 × 5 light deflector are also presented.

We call an electronic robust one then, if it the stress-like electronic change without a breakdown, possibly beside a minimal damage, not disturbing the normal function possibly, tolerates it. Not really definable the extreme changes quantity and his qualitative parameter, and the measure of the robustness. It was thawing out in robust electronics applications electronic circuit redundancy, the safe, in this manner advantageously can be used the programmable analogous electronic circuits (field programmable analog array, FPAA). Using of these FPAA circuits can be developed such robust architectures which are redundant, adaptive and reconfigurable. Additional benefit, it is you that the analogous system may be attached to an embedded controller or a computer through a digital surface to, that the adequately chosen feedbacks intervene in the function of the electronic circuit.

Routing in multilayer optical networks can be made efficient if label switched paths are searched in a wavelength graph that represents the state and the switching facilities of the network devices very accurately. Maintaining the wavelength graph by using the conventional link state advertisement control mechanism leads to scalability problem. Much of the link state information is, however, redundant as the set of state changes triggered by a single resource allocation or release are in correlation. By introducing a rule-based topology advertisement and maintenance method, the amount of control messages can be significantly reduced without deteriorating the quality of routing.

Clustering is a useful mechanism in wireless sensor networks that helps to cope with scalability problems and, if combined with in-network data aggregation, may increase the energy efficiency of the network. At the same time, by assigning a special role to the cluster head nodes, clustering makes the network more vulnerable to attacks. In particular, disabling a cluster head by physical destruction or jamming may render the entire cluster inoperable temporarily until the problem is detected and a new cluster head is elected. Hence, the cluster head nodes may be attractive targets of attacks, and one would like to make it difficult for an adversary to identify them. The adversary can try to identify the cluster head nodes in various ways, including the observation of the cluster head election process itself and the analysis of the traffic patterns after the termination of the cluster head election. In this paper, we focus on the former problem, which we call the private cluster head election problem. This problem has been neglected so far, and as a consequence, existing cluster head election protocols leak too much information making the identification of the elected cluster head nodes easy even for a passive external observer. We propose the first private cluster head election protocol for wireless sensor networks that is designed to hide the identity of the elected cluster head nodes from an adversary that can observe the execution of the protocol.

This work presents the performance scorecards which have lately been used more and more as a means of visual representation of business indicators of companies. The terminology in connection of this latest trend in reporting (presenting values) key indicators of performance of businesses is not unequivocal, there are various terms used for the same subject: Scorecards, Enterprise Dashboards, Balanced Scorecards, Performance Dashboard, KPI Summary, etc. The idea of performance scorecards is based on the method of Balance Scorecards [6] but the number of indicators and specific indicators is not limited to those defined in the work of Kaplan and Norton. The representation of the entire commerce, i.e. keeping track of the planned performances is easy as the graphical reports in the form of scorecards is extremely expressive an easily understandable for business men. Moreover, they can suggest the necessary activities depending on the value of the indicator, i.e. the deviation from the planned values. Based on this the Scorecards have become necessary in performance control of the entire enterprise, some its organizational units or specific important functions. This work also includes the possible contents of the hierarchical scorecard for performance control of electrical energy distribution.

The great advantage of the Variable Structure - Sliding Mode controllers is their simplicity, and that they can efficiently work in the possession of a very rough model of the system to be controlled. Instead investing any effort into identifying the precise analytical model of this system they apply well timed bang-bang type control signals in order to drive the “error metrics” near zero during finite time. The effects of modeling errors and unknown external perturbations are compensated by the application of great amplitude for this fluctuation often induce chattering that can be obviated by smoothing these signals normally at the cost of degraded precision of trajectory tracking. The recently proposed adaptive control based on robust fixed point transformations drives the system nearby the kinematically arbitrarily prescribed trajectories by the use local basins of attraction in an iterative learning control also abandoning the identification of the precise model of the system. By the combination of these different approaches efficient adaptive VS/SM controller can be developed that more precisely can trace the desired trajectory kinematically prescribed by the usual relaxation of the error metrics. Chattering can be evaded by decreasing the amplitude of the fluctuating control signal without degrading the tracking precision. This statement is substantiated by simulation results obtained for a simple paradigm.

The PET component of NanoPET TM /CT designed by Mediso Ltd. is a high resolution small animal PET system, in which every detector module contains 81×39 LYSO crystal needles of the size of 1.12×1.12×13 mm 3 . Two Hamamatsu H-9500 position sensitive photomultipliers (PSPMT-s) are optically coupled to the same crystal matrix using a thin BK-7 optical glass lightguide, allowing 95 mm AFOV. The gains of the 2×256 anodes of the PSPMTs are not uniform. The gap between the two PSPMTs results in restricted light collection efficiency for the crystal needles at the middle of the module. These two effects cause non-uniform gain, that could cause improper energy gating, the loss of 511 keV (photopeak) events and the imperfect filtering of the scattered photons. We have aimed to determine a local gain map for the detector to perform a uniformity correction to avoid these disadvantages. We have developed and implemented an application called LUT-QT to solve the crystal positioning and the gain uniformity correction pixel-by-pixel. Considering the large number of crystal elements in the detector ring (37908 pcs), all of the methods were designed to run automatically, although all of them allow the possibility of manual modification in every step. This method can be applied for every PET detector module based on pixelated scintillation crystal matrix and multianode PSPMT-s.
