The reflow soldering of BGA (ball grid array) packaged components always raise quality and reliability issues since bridges and open joints can form easily due to the warpage of PCBs and packages. Since the highly integrated circuit boards are relatively expensive the rework of failed BGA packages is absolutely necessary. During the rework process the deposition of solder paste is one of the key issues, which is usually carried out by mini stencil printing and always gives a challenge for engineers in the case of large size fine pitch BGA packages. A solution can be to apply the solder paste by dipping the BGA package into the paste in the same way as in package on package (PoP) technology. Experiment and testboard was designed in order to investigate the quality of reworked BGA solder joints, which meant to be dipped into a newly developed low viscosity solder paste. In the experiment we plan to rework BGA packaged components in two ways; on one hand solder paste is deposited by stencil printing and on the other hand the packages are dipped into the newly developed paste. The solder joints are planned to be inspected by X-ray microscopy.

This paper presents a novel ECG telemetry system based on Z-Wave communication protocol. The proposed system consists of small portable devices that acquire, compress and transmit the ECG to a RF-USB interface connected to a central monitoring computer. The received signals are filtered, QRS complexes and P and T waves are localized, and different waveforms are classified in order to be able to provide diagnosis tools like heart rate variability and turbulence analysis. Due to the limitation of communication bandwidth, the maximum number of measuring devices connected to a central monitor is four. The proposed system composed of inexpensive components can serve as flexible alternative to current ECG monitoring systems.

As RFID technology is becoming ubiquitous, the security of these systems gets - as it should - much attention. Its fields of usage include personal identification, supply-chain management systems, and many more. Many kinds of RFID tags are available on the market which differ both in storage, and computational capacity. Since by standard IT means all the tags have small capacities, the security mechanisms which are in use in computer networks are not suitable. For expensive tags with relatively large computational capacities many secure communication protocols were developed, for cheap low-end tags, only a few lightweight protocols exist. In this paper we introduce our solution, which is based on the least computation demanding operator, the exclusive or function. By introducing two tags instead of one in the RFID system, our scheme provides security solutions which are comparable with those provided by the lightweight protocols. In the meantime, our scheme does not demand any computational steps to be made by the tag.

This paper proposes a method that integrates Use case-based requirements specification into release planning process. Release planning addresses decisions related to the implementation of a selected requirements' collection in incremental software development. Its aim is determining an optimal schedule for the development within the constraints of defined deadlines and available resources. Scheduling requirements' development for the upcoming version is a complex process and requires significant manual efforts. Presented method is evaluated with a case study that demonstrates how this method can significantly accelerate release plan production (> 50%), provide more informed and established decisions and supply precise requirement's tracing at Use case level. Finally, the paper analyzes benefits and issues from the use of this method by project managers.

Since laser micromachining problems are reasonable research areas, many efforts have been made in order to describe the ablation method quantitatively. This paper presents a general overlook on the wide variety of choices and the properties of the ideal simulation is discussed. By using these experiences an alternative simulation program is presented.

In this paper we have written about our work of XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis. With this non-destructive testing it is possible to analyze the composition of a certain material. While examining different materials we have concluded that some manufacturers have not complied their products with the RoHS directives even after more than a year. After observing printed wiring boards (PWB), components and solders, sometimes we found amounts of restricted materials even 10 to 50 times above the limit. In our experiments we realized that not just the components, even the working tools have to comply with RoHS in order not to contaminate the experiments.

In our project the final goal is to develop the cost-effective roll-to-roll technology of fabricating large area, high throughput OLED devices for intelligent lighting applications. The main achievements of the first six months of the project are described in this paper. An electro-thermal FDM simulator was developed on the basis of an existing thermal-only simulator. The simulations proved the necessity of building a shunting grid of high conductance at the transparent anode of the OLED device. The model validation technique and a method for the thermal qualification of the targeted device were also elaborated.

Distributed hash tables (DHTs) are commonly used in wired peer-to-peer networks for various purposes. However, implementing a DHT on mobile devices, especially on commercially available mobile phones, has not been carried out yet. We created a generic DHT library that is based on the Kademlia protocol. It can store and retrieve arbitrary data in a network that consists of mobile phones only. In this demonstration, we show a working prototype of the system by setting up a small network over ad-hoc WLAN. We also demonstrate the main concepts behind the DHT by displaying online network information so that the audience can track the status of the DHT in real-time.

Large, distributed IT infrastructures providing business-critical services have to protect themselves against internal and external threats and adapt to changing environmental parameters, as workload. Most widely applied, structural resilience mechanisms use some form of local static redundancy deployed to each critical resource for failover. However, recently both large-scale interconnected distributed systems and virtualization enable on-line structural reconfiguration exploiting a globally managed spare capacity as on- demand failover resource. In this paper, we present system and service resilience as a control problem and briefly describe how classes of the widely used, but vague notion of 'IT metrics' map to the concepts of generic control with a special emphasis on the control aspects of structural reconfiguration as a generic resilience mechanism. Most importantly, we introduce some initial metrics that aim at measuring the self-healing capability of systems employing structural reconfiguration.

Evaluation, testing, and performance analysis of modulation, coding, multiple access, diversity methods and other countermeasure techniques over stochastic communication channels requires as accurate channel model as possible leading to immense complexity of such models. However, even have a very accurate method the ldquoperfect simulationrdquo of the channel would remain impossible because of the nonstationary stochastic behavior of most of the communication channels, especially the wireless ones. Fortunately, for different techniques different level of abstraction of the reality can be taken into account without any/or significant influence on the performance analysis of such techniques. This paper deals with Markov models applicable for stochastic simulation of the digital communication channels. Different level of abstraction to deduce digital processes from the analog channel measured and the relevant error gap and burst characteristics necessary to evaluate the appropriate Markov model will be introduced by some examples. Special attention is paid for the renewalness properties of the gap and burst processes. One of the main finding of this paper is the statement, that to carried out the appropriate choice of the Markov model the renewalness properties of both burst and gap processes should be taken into account simultaneously. In addition, according to the best knowledge of the author, the duality relation between the gap and burst processes are derived in the first time.
