The interactive nature of the Internet offers many opportunities to increase the efficiency of online shopping by improving availability of product information,enabling direct multi-attribute comparisons,and reducing buyer search costs.A great body of research focuses on how consumers shop online or why and how online shopping impacts urban development,but the understanding of mutual influence between online and offline behavior of consumers remains somewhat *** paper bridges that gap by quantifying the relationship between consumers' online shopping and offline mobility *** results of the study give insights to further understand human behavior from both a cyber and real world point of view,which may help to place location based targeted advertisements,and plan commercial & retail centers in urban areas.

We compare the performance of three parallel clustering algorithms:Canopy,K-means and fuzzy K-means in real cluster *** constructing cluster platform of different scale,we compare these algorithms from three metrics:run time,speedup and *** results show that:(1) if both the data set and the number of nodes in the cluster are the same,both the runtime and the sizeup of Canopy is the smallest,and the speedup of Canopy is the largest among these three algorithms;(2) when the number of nodes is larger than 2,for each algorithm,the difference between the sizeup on different data set becomes more and more smaller as the number of nodes increases;at the same time,when the number of nodes is larger than 2 and the data set is the same,the sizeup of Canopy has the maximum decrease with the increase of the number of nodes;(3) when the number of nodes keeps the same,the difference between the sizeup of these three algorithms becomes more and more apparent as the size of the data set increases.

Euphemism is a type of figurative language broadly adopted in social media and daily conversations. People use euphemisms for politeness or to conceal what they are discussing. Euphemism detection is a challenging task because of its obscure and figurative nature. Even humans may not agree on if a word expresses euphemism. In this paper, we propose to employ bidirectional encoder representations transformers (BERT), and relational graph attention network in order to model the semantic and syntactic relations between the target words and the input sentence. The best performing method of ours reaches a macro F1 score of 84.0 on the euphemism detection dataset of the third workshop on figurative language processing shared task 2022. © 2022 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Visual Entity Linking (VEL) is a task to link regions of images with their corresponding entities in Knowledge Bases (KBs), which is beneficial for many computer vision tasks such as image retrieval, image caption, and visual question answering. While existing tasks in VEL either rely on textual data to complement a multi-modal linking or only link objects with general entities, which fails to perform named entity linking on large amounts of image data. In this paper, we consider a purely Visual-based Named Entity Linking (VNEL) task, where the input only consists of an image. The task is to identify objects of interest (i.e., visual entity mentions) in images and link them to corresponding named entities in KBs. Since each entity often contains rich visual and textual information in KBs, we thus propose three different sub-tasks, i.e., visual to visual entity linking (V2VEL), visual to textual entity linking (V2TEL), and visual to visual-textual entity linking (V2VTEL). In addition, we present a high-quality human-annotated visual person linking dataset, named WIKIPerson. Based on WIKIPerson, we establish a series of baseline algorithms for the solution of each sub-task, and conduct experiments to verify the quality of the proposed datasets and the effectiveness of baseline methods. We envision this work to be helpful for soliciting more works regarding VNEL in the future. Pushing artificial intelligence(AI) from central cloud to network edge has reached board consensus in both industry and academia for materializing the vision of artificial intelligence of things(AIoT) in the sixth-generation(6G) era. This gives rise to an emerging research area known as edge intelligence, which concerns the distillation of human-like intelligence from the vast amount of data scattered at the wireless network edge. Typically, realizing edge intelligence corresponds to the processes of sensing, communication,and computation, which are coupled ingredients for data generation, exchanging, and processing, ***, conventional wireless networks design the three mentioned ingredients separately in a task-agnostic manner, which leads to difficulties in accommodating the stringent demands of ultra-low latency, ultra-high reliability, and high capacity in emerging AI applications like auto-driving and metaverse. This thus prompts a new design paradigm of seamlessly integrated sensing, communication, and computation(ISCC) in a taskoriented manner, which comprehensively accounts for the use of the data in downstream AI tasks. In view of its growing interest, this study provides a timely overview of ISCC for edge intelligence by introducing its basic concept, design challenges, and enabling techniques, surveying the state-of-the-art advancements, and shedding light on the road ahead.

Convolutional Neural networks (CNN) and the locally connected layer are limited in capturing the importance and relations of different local receptive fields, which are often crucial for tasks such as face verification, visual question answering, and word sequence prediction. To tackle the issue, we propose a novel locally smoothed neural network (LSNN) in this paper. The main idea is to represent the weight matrix of the locally connected layer as the product of the kernel and the smoother, where the kernel is shared over different local receptive fields, and the smoother is for determining the importance and relations of different local receptive fields. Specifically, a multi-variate Gaussian function is utilized to generate the smoother, for modeling the location relations among different local receptive fields. Furthermore, the content information can also be leveraged by setting the mean and precision of the Gaussian function according to the content. Aiming at optimizing the energy consumption of HVAC,an energy conservation optimization method was proposed for HVAC systems based on the sensitivity analysis(SA),named the sensitivity analysis combination method(SAC).Based on the SA,neural network and the related settings about energy conservation of HVAC systems,such as cooling water temperature,chilled water temperature and supply air temperature,were ***,based on the data of the existing HVAC system,various optimal control methods ofHVAC systems were tested and evaluated by a simulated HVAC system in *** results show that the proposed SA combination method can reduce significant computational load while maintaining an equivalent energy performance compared with traditional optimal control methods.

In this paper we report on our participation in the TREC 2019 Conversational Assistance Track which focuses on Conversational Information Seeking（CIS）namely understand the dialogue context and retrieve candidate response information from collections provided. We convert the CIS task into a standard information retrieval task and use both traditional IR model and neural IR model to rerank the baseline official evaluation results. Autonomous driving has made significant progress in both academia and industry, including performance improvements in perception task and the development of end-to-end autonomous driving systems. However, the safety and robustness assessment of autonomous driving has not received sufficient attention. Current evaluations of autonomous driving are typically conducted in natural driving scenarios. However, many accidents often occur in edge cases, also known as safety-critical scenarios. These safety-critical scenarios are difficult to collect, and there is currently no clear definition of what constitutes a safety-critical scenario. In this work, we explore the safety and robustness of autonomous driving in safety-critical scenarios. First, we provide a definition of safety-critical scenarios, including static traffic scenarios such as adversarial attack scenarios and natural distribution shifts, as well as dynamic traffic scenarios such as accident scenarios. Then, we develop an autonomous driving test framework to comprehensively evaluate autonomous driving systems, encompassing not only the assessment of perception modules but also system-level evaluations. Our work systematically constructs a safety verification process for autonomous driving, providing technical support for the industry to establish standardized test framework and reduce risks in real-world road deployment. Dear editor, key security is of great practical significance and demand to guarantee the security of digital assets in the blockchain system. At present, users prefer to escrow their assets on centralized institutions, but this phenomenon has gone against the unique characteristics of decentralization and anonymity in the blockchain. Among them, the suspense incidents of assets lock or lost are enough to prove that the security of escrowed keys on the exchanges is questionable.
