Aiming at problems of low credibility of results and low accuracy of the scheme in the mapping process of virtual networks. It is suggested to use a composite particle swarm optimization approach for virtual network mapping. Firstly, to derive the maximum number of virtual cyberspaces, we construct the virtual network model and the physical network model;secondly, resource limitations are used to build the node mapping and link mapping models, and once more, the mapping scheme of the virtual network on the physical network is solved using the composite particle swarm algorithm to improve the acceptance rate of virtual network requests. In simulation experiments, we compare our established algorithm with two algorithms, D-ViNE-SP and VNE-R-PSO, in two dimensions, and the results show that our proposed VNE-MM-PSO mapping method improves the acceptance rate of network requests by 8% and also improves on the benefit-cost ratio. © 2022 IEEE.

Diffusion models are initially designed for image generation. Recent research shows that the internal signals within their backbones, named activations, can also serve as dense features for various discriminative tasks such as semantic segmentation. Given numerous activations, selecting a small yet effective subset poses a fundamental problem. To this end, the early study of this field performs a large-scale quantitative comparison of the discriminative ability of the activations. However, we find that many potential activations have not been evaluated, such as the queries and keys used to compute attention scores. Moreover, recent advancements in diffusion architectures bring many new activations, such as those within embedded ViT modules. Both combined, activation selection remains unresolved but overlooked. To tackle this issue, this paper takes a further step with a much broader range of activations evaluated. Considering the significant increase in activations, a full-scale quantitative comparison is no longer operational. Instead, we seek to understand the properties of these activations, such that the activations that are clearly inferior can be filtered out in advance via simple qualitative evaluation. After careful analysis, we discover three properties universal among diffusion models, enabling this study to go beyond specific models. On top of this, we present effective feature selection solutions for several popular diffusion models. Finally, the experiments across multiple discriminative tasks validate the superiority of our method over the SOTA competitors. Ecas: an efficient and conditional privacy preserving collision warning system in fog-based vehicular ad hoc networks

VANET is a prominent way to provide road security and prevent vehicles from collision by using various methods, such as message dissemination, traffic management, etc. However, the traditional vehicular network faces some problems related to high latency, low bandwidth, and communication in open wireless environment. Thus, some researchers have attempted to combine fog computing with vehicular ad hoc networks to overcome these problems. In this paper, we design an efficient and conditional privacy preserving collision warning system for fog-based vehicular ad hoc networks without using bilinear pairing. The fog nodes collect the speed violation reports from the speed sensor of vehicles. This protocol achieves privacy protection, message authentication, and revocate malicious vehicles. We also provide strict security proof and illustrate how to reach the security requirements in the proposed protocol. Moreover, the experiment demonstrates that the proposed protocol provides better efficiency in computation overhead and communication overhead, and makes it more applicable for adoption in the VANET collision warning systems.

As the streaming media files growing larger and larger in size, it inevitably aggravates the network congestion and user perceive latency, to settle problem lots of caching algorithms have been applied in video-on-demand (VOD)system. However, different algorithm is correspondence to an unique caching replacement policy, which limits its applications and the effects are not very satisfied, so in VOD aspect it is necessary to find a common replacement algorithm. In this paper, we propose a Common Caching Replacement Algorithm (CCRA). As a unification replacement algorithm, it sufficiently considers the recent visit and segment size, effectively solves the disk I/O bandwidth bottleneck limitation and improves byte hit rate. We respectively replace the previous caching replacement policy in Uniform segmentation algorithm and Exponential segmentation algorithm with CCRA. From the experimental comparison, Uniform segmentation with CCRA improves almost 5\% in disk reduce ratio, and exponential segmentation with CCRA increases near 8\% in byte hit ratio.

Federated Learning (FL) is a privacy-preserving machine learning technique that trains models on client devices and only uploads new model gradients to servers for aggregation. However, transmitting the true gradients introduces the risk of reverse inference attack, which can compromise client privacy. To address this issue, we present the federated learning aggregation scheme based on privileged secret sharing (FLAP). Firstly, we present privileged secret sharing by combining the one-time pad with shamir secret sharing. Secondly, we introduce game theory to generate games between servers to resist collusion attacks. Finally, the analysis demonstrates that FLAP enables the server to successfully update the global gradient while ensuring the utmost protection of client privacy and FLAP achiev the effect of resisting collusion attack and reverse inference attack. We have proved through experiments that FLAP is 26.42% more efficient than the current scheme, and has strong robustness to drop out. © 2023 IEEE.

Due to the decoding dependency of MPEG coded frames, lots of dependent frames are transmitted at video cassette recording (VCR) operations, thus more computation resource, hard disk and network bandwidth are consumed on streaming media server, and higher decoding complexity on Set-Top Box (STB). To tackle this problem, our scheme of supporting VCR functionalities with adaptive rate adjustment in streaming media server is proposed. The scheme includes a general VCR functionalities supporting method called GVFR which selects frames based on Group of Pictures (GOP) and uses Variable Frame Rate (VFR). Selecting frames based on GOP can efficiently eliminate the transmission of dependent frames, and the realization of VFR leads to optional transmission rate. Then an intelligent decision mode is introduced which automatically picks the appropriate GVFR strategies with suitable transmission rate based on the congestion status of the link. The experimental results demonstrate that GVFR can greatly decrease the transmission rate of fast forward/backward, to 22% of that of normal playback at least, and by varying GVFR strategies, VCR with optional transmission rate is achieved.

The pulse profiles of the Crab pulsar(as well as some other pulsars)vary with *** can lead to a major source of intrinsic timing noise,which lacks a detailed physical *** phase separation?between the first left peak(P1)and the second right peak(P2)is a key parameter that shows the variations of pulse profiles for the Crab *** was found that the evolution of?has a tendency with increasing rates of 0.82?±0.25?,0.80?±0.54?,and 0.77?±0.28?per century for the 2-6,6-15,and15-60 ke V bands,***,the flux ratios(P2/P1)of X-ray pulse profiles in the three bands were calculated,and the derived flux ratios were consistent with the radio and X-ray measurements of the *** addition to discovering the physical origin of the pulse changes,the high-SNR X-ray pulse profiles were simulated in the annular gap model,and two model parameters(e.g.,the maximum emission heights of the two peaks)were observed to slightly affect the variations of peak *** fitted the long-term variations of emission heights of the two peaks and discovered that the emission heights showed increasing tendencies with *** of these emission heights induced a characteristic period derivative,and a complete formula for both the magnetic dipole radiation and wind-particle-induced variations of the moment of inertia was used for the pulsar’s spin-down to obtain the variation rate˙αof the magnetic inclination angle,which was-1.60?per *** timing noise is observed to be mainly induced by the variations of pulse profiles,which might correlate with a characteristic spin period derivative arising from the fluctuations of the emission *** work will lay a foundation for understanding the origin of intrinsic timing noise and making high-precision timing models in the future.

Recent studies have demonstrated that overlay localization can reduce the inter-ISP traffic efficiently, however, fully localized overlays generally impair the streaming quality. In this paper, we first investigate the effects of overlay localization and then present a novel ISP-friendly hierarchical overlay, termed HOPES, to achieve a favorable tradeoff between the inter-ISP traffic and the streaming quality. In HOPES, there are four components: (1) an algorithm for determining the abstract interconnections of all ISP domains;(2) a super peer selection scheme;(3) an algorithm for constructing the inter-ISP connections between super peers;(4) an algorithm for constructing the intra-ISP connections within each same ISP domain. Simulation results indicate that under various scenarios a significant reduction in the inter-ISP traffic is achievable while the streaming quality is enhanced by shrinking the inter-ISP depth and latency of the delivery path of each chunk.

Black-box Adversarial Attacks against Dense Retrieval Models: A Multi-view Contrastive Learning Method

Neural ranking models (NRMs) and dense retrieval (DR) models have given rise to substantial improvements in overall retrieval performance. In addition to their effectiveness, and motivated by the proven lack of robustness of deep learning-based approaches in other areas, there is growing interest in the robustness of deep learning-based approaches to the core retrieval problem. Adversarial attack methods that have so far been developed mainly focus on attacking NRMs, with very little attention being paid to the robustness of DR models. In this paper, we introduce the adversarial retrieval attack (AREA) task. The AREA task is meant to trick DR models into retrieving a target document that is outside the initial set of candidate documents retrieved by the DR model in response to a query. We consider the decision-based black-box adversarial setting, which is realistic in real-world search engines. To address the AREA task, we first employ existing adversarial attack methods designed for NRMs. We find that the promising results that have previously been reported on attacking NRMs, do not generalize to DR models: these methods underperform a simple term spamming method. We attribute the observed lack of generalizability to the interaction-focused architecture of NRMs, which emphasizes fine-grained relevance matching. DR models follow a different representation-focused architecture that prioritizes coarse-grained representations. We propose to formalize attacks on DR models as a contrastive learning problem in a multi-view representation space. The core idea is to encourage the consistency between each view representation of the target document and its corresponding viewer via view-wise supervision signals. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can significantly outperform existing attack strategies in misleading the DR model with small indiscernible text perturbations.
