Subpixel-based downsampling has shown its advantages over pixel-based downsampling in terms of preserving more spatial details along edges and generating sharper images, at the cost of certain amount of color-fringing artifacts in the downsampled image. To balance the sharpness and color-fringing artifacts, some algorithms are proposed to design optimal anti-aliasing (AA) filters, which are either image independent, or computationally too expensive. And all of the existing AA filters are designed for fixed downsampling factor, which makes them impractical for real applications. In this paper we propose two fast algorithms to design AA filter for arbitrary factor subpixel downsampling based on frequency analysis of the input image. The proposed algorithms generate image dependent AA filter which is as good as the state-of-the-art algorithm, but much faster.

As a new Internet architecture, Named Data Networking (NDN) decouples location from the data itself to achieve security, scalability, and mobility. Although router-side data caching used in NDN reduces data acquisition delay, it introduces a new copyright protection challenge: how to prevent unauthorized users to retrieve data cached in routers that are out of the control of its publisher? Current approaches that rely on a common encryption key among authorized users cannot protect copyright well since if one authorized user secretly leaks the key, we cannot tell who has leaked the key out. In this paper, we present a split-based scheme to solve this copyright protection problem for large-sized data. The data is split into a large part that could be cached in routers for all users to retrieve, and a small part that is unique for each authorized user. This scheme exploits the fact that in the bit-wise OR operation, both bit 0 and bit 1 can OR with 1 to generate the same result of bit 1. The analysis of our scheme shows that it has a good performance in terms of copyright protection, data retrieval efficiency, and overhead.

This paper presents a novel approach to automatically generate a plausible 3D model from a single outdoor image. Outdoor scene can be modeled as a set of planar billboards such as ground, sky and vertical trees or buildings. This Cut-and-Fold system takes the advantages of the statistical classification method for high-level geometric labeling of the image regions and the automatic image segmentation algorithm for detailed boundaries of the geometric regions to generate accurate geometric labeling and realistic rendering of novel views. Taking a single image as input, our method first roughly classifies each sub-region to the geometric categories: vertical, ground or sky. Then image segmentation algorithm is employed to refine the labeling results and generate accurate boundaries for the geometric regions. After cutting the image into several regions with their geometric labels, the system folds the regions into 3D billboards with accurate boundaries. The experimental results demonstrate that our method is capable of creating plausible 3D models automatically for a wide range of outdoor scenes.

The geometry distortion phenomenon of SAR imaging arises in the mountainous scenarios due to the presence of strong terrain slopes. Because of phase discontinuities or the absence of valid phase, for single pass interferometric SAR (InSAR), it is difficult to recover accurate digital elevation model (DEM) in such areas. Fusion of two or more different aspects of InSAR data is practicable to deal with this problem. In this paper, the processing procedures of airborne InSAR data are presented. In order to decrease the processing error of every single aspect data, an iterative motion compensation (MOCO) method is used. Besides, the interferometric phase of shadow area is linearly complemented before phase unwrapping to avoid error spreading. Experimental results using two anti-parallel aspects of airborne InSAR data validate the feasibility of fusion.

A new packet-selection based transmission scheme is proposed on a dual-hop link with buffer aided amplify-and-forward relay, where the relay with a buffer can record the channel information of source-relay hop and store the received packets. In order to satisfy the constraint of equivalent end-to-end SNR, the relay may pick up a packet in the buffer to transmit, with consideration of the channel statuses of both the source-relay hop and the relay-destination hop. Therefore, by adjusting the packet transmission order in the relay, the outage probability can be decreased in the proposed transmission scheme. Both theoretical analyses and simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms traditional ones by a significant margin of 2-4 dB gain in terms of outage probability.

With the widespread use of mobile devices, the location-based service(LBS) applications become increasingly popular, which introduces the new security challenge to protect user's location privacy. On one hand, a user expects to report his own location as far as possible away from his real location to protect his location privacy. On the other hand, in order to obtain high quality of service(QoS), users are required to report their locations as accurate as possible. To achieve the dedicated tradeoff between privacy requirement and QoS requirement, we propose a novel approach based on cloaking technique. We also discuss the disadvantage of the traditional general system model and propose an improved model. The basic idea of our approach is to select a sub-area from the generated cloaking area as user's reported location. The sub-area may not contain a user's real location,which prevents an adversary from performing attack with side information. Specifically, by defining an objective function with a novel location privacy metric and a QoS metric, we are able to convert the privacy issue to an optimization problem. Then, location privacy metric and QoS metric are given. Different form the conventional technologies, the weighting filter presented in this work is superior to both the complementary filter and Kalman filter. Furthermore, to eliminate the negative effects brought by the variation of noise statistical characteristics, a fuzzy-logic based regulator is introduced to adjust the weight coefficient adaptively.
