In this paper, we propose a new distance measurement which can be used in panel data clustering. The distance as we designed can be calculated with weight and without weight. If users put more attention on recent data, a heavier weight can be assigned to the recent data. We use real panel data of a commercial bank's credit card to examine the performance of our new distance measurement. The results show that our distance measurement can reflect the information of different periods and panel data can be used to cluster to find new knowledge. This study discovers different knowledge structure from the traditional econometrics analysis with the help of data mining algorithms.

In this study, we proposed a Fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making hybrid approach (FMCDM) which integrates the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) and the Fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (FTOPSIS) to evaluate the severity of the damage of Typhoon in various provinces in China. In order to match the AHP method in the 1-9 criteria, the statistics data of typhoon disaster losses in 2008 is normalized by fuzzy number and then processed by the proposed hybrid method of AHP and TOPSIS. The experiment results show that the proposed method is effective and can provide a comprehensive assessment to the damage level of Typhoon.

This paper presents a new optimum model to reflect the strategic assets allocation of SWFs. According to the risk value of assets of SWFs, it can be classified into four kinds of assets listed as high risk asset, middle risk asset, low risk asset and risk free asset. Thus the optimization model will be developed to decide the corresponding weight number of above four classified assets including maximum CRRA utility and minimum VAR objectives subject to some subjective and objective conditions. In the last, a numerical simulation will be drawn to achieve the Pareto solutions to illustrate the application of developed model by using NSGA-II.

Under the framework of max margin method, this work proposes a model for training sequence data, which can be solved as a binary classification. However, there are too many samples in the auxiliary classification problem to make the model efficient enough for median to large scale data sets in practice. Therefore, under the additive assumption for the feature mapping and loss function, a simplified model is introduced in order to speed up training. The major advantage of our method is that the new model does not share slack variable for a sequence. This provides the ability to utilize the discriminate information within the sequence and select the discriminative patterns more precisely. Experiment on the task of named entity recognition validates the effectiveness of the new method.
