s-LWSR: Super lightweight super-resolution network

Deep learning (DL) architectures for super-resolution (SR) normally contain tremendous parameters, which has been regarded as the crucial advantage for obtaining satisfying performance. However, with the widespread use of mobile phones for taking and retouching photos, this character greatly hampers the deployment of DL-SR models on the mobile devices. To address this problem, in this paper, we propose a super lightweight SR network: s-LWSR. There are mainly three contributions in our work. Firstly, in order to efficiently abstract features from the low resolution image, we build an information pool to mix multi-level information from the first half part of the pipeline. Accordingly, the information pool feeds the second half part with the combination of hierarchical features from the previous layers. Secondly, we employ a compression module to further decrease the size of parameters. Intensive analysis confirms its capacity of trade-off between model complexity and accuracy. Thirdly, by revealing the specific role of activation in deep models, we remove several activation layers in our SR model to retain more information for performance improvement. Extensive experiments show that our s-LWSR, with limited parameters and operations, can achieve similar performance to other cumbersome DL-SR methods. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. Relationship between Capital Operation and Market Value Management of Listed Companies Based on Random Forest Algorithm

This paper analyzes the influence of capital operations on the performance of listed companies under different market conditions by combining various capital operations with market value management. Random Forest algorithm is adopted and other machine learning methods are used to compare. We find that capital operation is significantly related to market value management and different capital operations have different effects on companies in various conditions. The result shows Random Forest algorithm has the highest classification accuracy and is more stable under different thresholds. Our findings will help to establish a market or industry benchmark which provides a scientific basis and decision support to the target companies when they operate their capitals.

Although artificial intelligence (AI) is currently one of the most interesting areas in scientific research, the potential threats posed by emerging AI systems remain a source of persistent controversy. To address the issue of AI threat,this study proposes a "standard intelligence model" that unifies AI and human characteristics in terms of four aspects of knowledge, i.e., input, output, mastery, and creation. Using this model, we observe three challenges, namely, expanding of the von Neumann architecture;testing and ranking the intelligence quotient (IQ) of naturally and artificially intelligent systems, including humans, Google, Microsoft’s Bing, Baidu, and Siri;and finally, the dividing of artificially intelligent systems into seven grades from robots to Google Brain. Based on this, we conclude that Google’s AlphaGo belongs to the third grade. © 2017, Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Performance appraisal has always been an important research topic in human resource management. A reasonable performance appraisal plan lays a solid foundation for the development of an enterprise. Especially as globalization and technology advance, in order to meet the fast-changing strategic goals and increasing cross-functional tasks, enterprises face new challenges in performance appraisal. How to improve employees’ ability to accept new knowledge efficiently and constantly has been an urgent problem for enterprises. In this paper, we propose an automatic method which generation multiple-choice questions by utilizing the relations between different terminology. Graphical model is used to extract core concept from different corpus while word embedding technology is used to indicate the relevant relations. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed question generation method outperforms the traditional manual method in both efficiency and confusion.

Finding Patterns of Stock Returns Based on Sequence Alignment

In this paper, we propose the method based on sequence alignment to find patterns of stock returns. We use 5 minutes high frequency data of CSI 300 index to test this method, and find we can predict the sharply rise or drop for the stock returns according to patterns of the sample symbol sequence. The empirical analysis suggests it is possible to find and predict patterns in stock returns based on the method of sequence alignment.

Intelligent Manufacturing has attracted global and continuous attention recent years, with more and more intelligent devices and systems applied in production. In this paper, we take China’s manufacturing listed firms to investigate the productivity difference between intelligent and general manufacturing firms. By the Cobb-Douglas production function, we built a Coefficient-varying Model and used Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) to estimate the time-varying trend of productivity from 2011 to 2017. The empirical results show that “Intelligent Manufacturing” has obviously promoted the Labor factor utilization efficiency and the Total Factor Productivity (TFP) through the advances in technology. But it doesn’t have universally enhancing effect of all industries. The impact of “Intelligent Manufacturing” still remains to be observed overtime.

Analysis of the relation between artificial intelligence and the internet from the perspective of brain science

Concept-cognitive learning (CCL) is a hot topic in recent years, and it has attracted much attention from the communities of formal concept analysis, granular computing and cognitive computing. However, the relationship among cognitive computing (CC), concept-cognitive computing (CCC), CCL and concept-cognitive learning model (CCLM) is not clearly described. To this end, we first explain the relationship of CC, CCC, CCL and CCLM. Then, we propose a generalized concept-cognitive learning (GCCL) from the point of view of machine learning.
