Single Image Super-resolution Reconstruction Based on Multilayer Residual Networks With Attention Mechanisms

Small and medium-sized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) often experience loss of texture detail and edge blurring in aerial images due to limitations in flight altitude and payload capacity. To enhance image quality, this paper proposes a multilayer residual network super-resolution reconstruction method that utilizes an attention mechanism. This method effectively extracts high-frequency feature information from images and improves detail recovery through a nested residual network structure and a channel attention mechanism. The network employs a deeply parallel architecture to fuse multilayer features, further enhancing reconstruction accuracy. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms existing state-of-the-art techniques in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structural similarity index (SSIM) metrics on the Set5, Set14, and various open-source aerial imagery datasets. The reconstructed images exhibit significantly improved texture details and edge clarity. This method offers an effective solution for the high-quality reconstruction of UAV aerial images. We have named this method MARNet (Multilayer Attention Residual Network), which utilizes nested residual blocks and channel attention to achieve high-fidelity reconstruction. © 2013 IEEE.

Predefined-time controller design for a multiple space transportation robots system based on Lp-Norm-Normalized Sign Function

This paper presents a predefined-time controller for Multiple Space transportation Robots System (MSRS), which can be applied in on-orbit assembly tasks to transport modules to pre-assembly configuration quickly. Firstly, to simplify the analysis and design of predefined-time controller, a Predefined-time Stability Criterion is proposed in the form of Composite Lyapunov Function (CLF-PSC). Besides simplicity, the CLF-PSC also has the advantage of less conservativeness due to utilization of initial state information. Secondly, a concept of Lp-Norm-Normalized Sign Function (LPNNSF) is proposed based on the CLF-PSC. Different from traditional norm-normalized sign function, the Lp-norm of LPNNSF can be selected arbitrarily according to practical control task requirements, which means that the proposed LPNNSF is more generalized and more convenient for calculation. Thirdly, a predefined-time disturbance observer and predefined-time controller are designed based on the LPNNSF. The observer has the property of predefined-time convergence to achieve quicker and more accurate estimation of the lumped disturbance. The controller has less control input and chattering phenomenon than traditional predefined-time controller. In addition, by introducing the observer into the controller, the closed-loop system enjoys high precision and strong robustness. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified by numerical simulations. By employing the controller, the MSRS can carry assembly modules to the desired pre-assembly configuration accurately within predefined time.

An increase in the elderly population has led to a growing demand for constant health care. Remote monitoring of seniors aims to provide more effective care and promote patient independence, whether they live in residential homes, or their own homes supported by a domiciliary care service. It encompasses several issues present in their lives that may benefit from being assisted and monitored remotely. There are many successful studies and products focused on one of these issues, but there are no systems, to the best of our knowledge, that serve as a broad remote monitoring solution for multiple of these topics simultaneously. This paper proposes an architecture for an intelligent health monitoring ecosystem to interact with these various aspects of the elderly’s daily life, including monitoring of vital signs, movement and medication intake, detection of falls, sleep quality analysis, access control, and patient–caregiver communication. This solution will make use of wearables and medication dispensers, and it will securely store all patient-related information into an HL7 FHIR standardized database, from where machine learning models can import data for predicting important information and generating alerts when necessary. Next steps involve the development of this proposed system and testing it with elderly volunteers living in a residential home or subscribed to its domiciliary care services. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

This paper investigates a minimum path deviation online path planning problem for UAV with constrainted avoidance zones. The nonlinear and nonconvex of this problem make the path planning is very time consuming and not acceptable for using onboard. Three new state variables and two control variables are redefined to convert the nonconvex problem into a second-order cone convex programming problem, which can be solved in polynomial time by primal-dual interior-point method, theoretical proof demonstrates the equivalence of the relaxed convex problem and the original problem. We propose a sequential second-order cone programming algorithm in order to get the optimal solution of the convexified problem. Numerical simulations show the effectiveness and less time-consuming of the proposed algorithm, no initial guess required and efficient solving process indicate that the algorithm has potential future for online path planning applications. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) in federated learning settings presents significant challenges, including substantial communication overhead, non-identically distributed (non-IID) data, and client hardware limitations. Traditional federated learning methods like Federated Averaging (FedAvg) often fail to personalize models for diverse client data, leading to suboptimal performance. We propose Personalized Federated Fourier Low-Rank Adaptation (PFFLoRA), which leverages spectral parameterization to significantly reduce communication costs while enabling model personalization. PFFLoRA updates only a small set of Trainable Fourier coefficients and introduces a personalized contrastive learning loss, allowing clients to fine-tune the global model according to their local data characteristics. Experimental results show that PF-FLoRA reduces communication costs by up to 99.8% compared to full fine-tuning, while achieving performance comparable to full fine-tuning. This offers a scalable and personalized solution for federated learning with large language models. © 2024 IEEE.

Logistics support capability (LSC) plays an important role in troop's combat effectiveness, therefore the evaluation on LSC is the key supporting means for its improvement. This paper compared several models and their applications in the LSC evaluation area, including the Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Model, Grey Evaluation Model, Network DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) Model, evaluation models based on Belief Rule-Base (BRB) as well as evaluation models based on D-S Evidence Theory. Among these models, Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Model can quantify some factors with unclear border or hard to quantify;Grey Evaluation Model is suitable for the uncertain system;Network DEA Model effectively deals with multiple inputs and outputs on the same kind of decision-Making Units (DMUs);evaluation model based on BRB handle effectively the information uncertainty and evaluation index types diversity;evaluation model based on D-S Evidence Theory could effectively analyze the consistency of evaluation index and increase the discrimination of the evaluation. However, these evaluations mainly focus on the theoretical research and hardly can be applied in reality. In this paper, the suggestions about attention to the purpose of LSC evaluation, application of new information technology, and evaluation practicality were proposed in order to improve LCS evaluation. © The Authors.

The microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg−4.5Al−2.5Zn−0.3Mn−0.2Ca(wt.%,designated as AZ42)alloys in extruded(at extrusion ratios of 28,20 and 11.5)and peak-aged states were investigated,by using optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectrometry and electron backscatter *** results show that extrusion produces a typical basal fiber texture and streamlines of second *** samples exhibit the lowest Schmid factor of basal slip(SFb)and the superior tensile yield strength(TYS)along extrusion direction(ED).The sample with extrusion ratio of 20 exhibits the largest average grain size,but the smallest SFb which compensates for the disadvantage of grain coarsening and maintains the *** being peak-aged at 175℃for 48 h,the sample with the extrusion ratio of 20 shows the optimal TYS along all the directions,compared to the other *** hopes to provide useful information for optimizing the deformation parameters of the AZ42 alloys.

Manned/unmanned aerial vehicles (MAV/UAV) cooperative combat mission planning is an extremely complex decision-making and optimizing problem. The purpose of this is to maximize the overall combat benefit with minimum cost by allocating reasonable targets for different types of aircraft, and proposing rough path planning for coordinated combat formations. Based on the background of OODA integrated combat cycle, this paper establishes the combination optimization model of MAV/UAV cooperative combat, and solves the problems of heterogeneity and resource limitation of MAV/UAV cooperative combat task planning by improving multi genotype genetic algorithm. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of this method are proved by the combat mission of MAV/UAV formation cooperating against ground fixed targets. © 2021 IEEE

This paper proposes new methods and strategies for Multi-UAVs cooperative attacks with safety and time constraints in a complex *** triangle is designed to construct a map of the complex flight environment for aerial ***-Map,Safe Flight Corridor(SFC),and Relative Safe Flight Corridor(RSFC)are applied to ensure each UAV flight trajectory's *** using such techniques,it is possible to avoid the collision with obstacles and collision between ***-curve is further developed to ensure that multi-UAVs can simultaneously reach the target at the specified time,and the trajectory is within the flight *** trajectory tracking controller is also designed based on model predictive control to track the planned trajectory *** simulation and experiment results are presented to verifying developed strategies of Multi-UAV cooperative attacks.
