More and more deep horizontal wells have been drilled over all the world, strata with much higher temperature are discovered, which increases the risk to wellbore integrity and has driven the evolution of zonal isolation methods. New methods aim to ensure that the completion equipment deployed by operating companies can guarantee the integrity of oil wells throughout their entire lifecycle. Several globally renowned oilfield service companies are actively developing mechanical, fluid activation, and chemical solutions to address the increasingly challenging downhole conditions. Meanwhile, the industry is increasingly recognizing the importance of employing precise water injection and water control technologies to enhance wellbore integrity of oil and gas producers. As oil and gas fields reach a certain stage of development, the heterogeneity between layers becomes more prominent, leading to interlayer conflicts. due to significant variations in geological characteristics among strata, which affect the degree of water flooding control in practice, it is necessary to implement zonal water injection techniques. Wireless intelligent water distributors utilize pressure or flow fluctuations to transmit signals, enabling control of the opening of downhole water distributors to adjust injection rates. The digital data transmission eliminates the need for human intervention, greatly reducing operational costs and saving time and effort. compared to conventional water distributors, these instruments demonstrate higher efficiency and accuracy in intelligent zonal water injection. They perform regular tests on the flow rates of each individual layer, allowing for a better understanding of water absorption conditions and pressure variations across the well. The oil and gas sector industry is actively embracing the integration of remotely monitored and controlled well completions. This technological advancement, commonly known as "intelligent completions," has experienced rapid progress in recent years, showcasing advantages such as heightened recovery rates and accelerated production. Notably, cost savings derived from reduced well interventions offer additional returns, particularly for wells characterized by multilateral configurations, subsea locations, or unmanned platform setups. The adoption of this technology continues to gain momentum due to the proven value demonstrated through field installations. The implementation of intelligent completions has become pervasive, with around 3000 systems deployed by the conclusion of 2022. With the rapid development of the economy and society, as well as the continuous deepening of oilfield development, the traditional on-site management model of oilfield personnel for oil-water wells has increased the labor costs for enterprises. In response to this, by means of a digital intelligent water injection monitoring system driven by Internet of Things (IoT), oilfield managers can monitor and control water injection equipment anytime and anywhere, realizing convenient management. The remote wireless intelligent water injection device mainly consists of an underground intelligent water distributor, a surface control unit, and a remote-control system, constituting a wireless visualized production control system. This system, through real-time monitoring of individual well water injection status and coordination with water injection and production data across the entire block, conducts big data analysis to effectively enhance reservoir development efficiency. Multifunctional fracturing fluid is desirable in the oil and gas industry as it can simplify hydraulic fracturing operations and reduce environmental impact. Traditional high-viscosity fluids, like borate crosslinked fluid, can effectively transport proppant to keep fractures open but can constrain fracture length and damage the proppant pack. conversely, low-viscosity options like linear gels, can extend fracture length and facilitate secondary fractures, but have limited proppant carrying capabilities. recent efforts have attempted to combine fracturing fluid with surfactants to achieve both hydraulic fracturing and improved oil recovery. However, these efforts require multiple additives and still lack sufficient proppant transportation. This study introduces a new generation fracturing fluid combining superior proppant transport and oil displacement functionalities, formulated with a unique polymer containing chemically bonded oil displacement surfactant. The new fracturing fluid was evaluated using a range of tests, including static proppant suspension test, rheology test, coreflood, regained conductivity and oil displacement tests. The static proppant suspension test compared the new fracturing fluid with a linear gel. The fluid's rheological properties were measured using an advanced rheometer. The spontaneous imbibition Amott test was conducted to appraise the fluid's oil displacement properties. The coreflood and regained conductivity studies were conducted at 160°F to evaluate the fluid's formation and proppant pack damage. The new generation fracturing fluid excelled in all tests studied. In the static proppant suspension test, it suspended the 20-40 mesh ceramic proppant much longer than the traditional guar-based fluid. The rheology test revealed that the 0.3wt% fluid's storage modulus G' is higher than the loss modulus G" across the whole spectrum of frequency tested, signifying high elasticity of the fluid. The determination of drilling fluid rheological parameters plays an important role in the calculation of drilling circulation friction. The traditional method uses the least squaresmethod to solve the problem. For the Power Lawand Herschel-Bulkley models, by taking the logarithm to linearize of the equation, and then solved by linear regression. This method is not solved in the nonlinear space, it is not the optimal solution to the equation, is only the optimal solution in the linear space. In this paper, according to the characteristics of Power Law and Herschel- Bulkley rheological equations, the gradient descentmethod is used to calculate the local optimal solution of the rheological model. By selecting an appropriate initial value, the iterative algorithm can quickly and stably converge to the target solution range, and obtain accurate rheological parameters. This algorithm directly solves in nonlinear space, so the result is the optimal solution, and has higher precision than traditionalmethods. It is also proved by practical examples, the parameters of the Power Law and Herschel-Bulkley rheological models obtained by this method have higher precision. Failure evaluation mechanism of cement sheath sealing integrity under casing eccentricity during multistage fracturing

A microannulus(MA) is the primary reason for sustained casing pressure in multi-stage fractured-shale gas wells. However, the effect of the casing eccentricity on the long horizontal section has not been considered. In this study, a full-scale integrity tester for cement sheaths is adopted to measure the cumulative plastic deformation. Numerical models are applied to evaluate the development of the cumulative plastic deformation and quantify the MA width considering casing centralization and eccentricity in the context of multiple loading and unloading cycles. Subsequently, the influences of the eccentricity distance and angle, cement-sheath mechanical variables, and different well depths on the cumulative sheath plastic deformation and sheath MA development are explored. The research results demonstrate that casing eccentricity significantly increases the cumulative sheath plastic deformation compared with that of the casing-centered condition. consequently, the risk of sealing integrity failure increases. The accumulated plastic deformation increases when the eccentricity distance increases. In contrast, the initial plastic deformation increases as the eccentricity angle increases. However, the cumulative plastic deformation decreases after a specific loading and unloading cycle count. Affected by the coupled influence of the internal casing pressure and fracturing stages, the width of the MA in the horizontal section increased from the toe to the heel, and the casing eccentricity significantly increased the MA width at each stage, thus increasing the risk of gas channeling. Finally, an engineering case is considered to study the influence of casing eccentricity. The results show that cement slurries that form low and high elastic moduli can be applied to form a cement sheath when the fracturing stage is lower or higher than a specific value, respectively. Horizontal well technology is an essential means of enhancing drilling productivity and oil and gas production. However, the deviation angle of horizontal wells is highly variable, resulting in significant drill-pipe friction. due to the influence of its own gravity, the drill-pipe approaches the floor of the wellbore as the horizontal displacement increases. during rotary drilling, the drill-pipe exhibits evident nonlinear characteristics and is susceptible to lateral vibration. This article establishes a mathematical model for the lateral vibration of a horizontal drill-pipe considering the drilling fluid inside the drill-pipe and the drilling fluid in the annulus based on variables such as drilling fluid flow rate, drilling fluid density, drilling fluid viscosity coefficient, gravity, friction, and drilling pressure. The calculation technique is provided, and the displacement equation and vibration frequency equation of the horizontal drill-pipe's lateral vibration are derived. The frequency of lateral vibration under various parameter conditions is analysed using numerical simulation. Moreover, by compiling site-specific data for comparison, it was determined that the model accurately describes the lateral vibration of the drilling string. © 2023 Proceedings of the International congress on Sound and Vibration. Fracturing truck is the key technical equipment for oil and gas production stimulation. Fracturing pump of fracturing truck is subjected to high pressure load for a long time during use. due to the influence of many factors such as transportation and equipment aging, the performance of fracturing pump in field use is reduced and the output power is insufficient. In order to realize the on-site inspection of fracturing pump, a set of intelligent inspection and evaluation system of fracturing pump is developed. Through the establishment of the hardware test platform and the development of the software system, the intelligent inspection and evaluation system of fracturing pump with the features of one-click automatic detection, automatic analysis of performance indicators, intelligent prediction and maintenance of health status is realized. The system can support the static pressure test, water power test and overpressure protection test of 140MPa ultra-high pressure fracturing pump. Experimental tests show that the test accuracy of the equipment can effectively meet the detection and evaluation needs of the field fracturing truck, ensure the normal function through static pressure and water power detection, and determine the safety of the equipment through overpressure protection detection, which greatly improves the effect and efficiency of fracturing operations. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. To understand the sealing characteristics of temporary plugging agents (TPA) in the borehole, a system was established for simulating high pressure temporary plugging experiments. The influence of the type and the concentration of TPA, the carrying liquid viscosity and the pump displacement on the sealing characteristics are studied, and the comparison and selection experiments of TPA are also performed. It can be concluded from experimental results that i) the higher viscosity of carrying liquid leads more TPA to going into the low-angle-borehole, resulting in better sealing characteristic;ii) the larger pump displacement causes more boreholes blocked by the TPA (especially the number of blocked low-angle-boreholes are more than that of blocked high-angle-boreholes);iii) both low-angle-borehole and high-angle-borehole are filled with more TPA duo to the higher concentration of TPA;iv) the sealing efficiency of TPA-knot is the highest, followed by TPA-particle and TPA-ball, and the TPA-fiber is the lowest. For obtaining the excellent sealing efficiency, it is recommended the mixed use of TPA-knot, TPA-particle and TPA-ball. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte ltd. 2024.

Effects of Ethylene Tar-Based Pitch coatings on the Electrochemical Properties of Graphite Anode Materials

To improve the electrochemical performance of graphite anode materials,pitches with various softening points(150℃,180℃,200℃,and 250℃)were prepared from ethylene tar and used to coat graphite through a liquid coating *** effects of the softening point of the pitch and the coating amount on the microstructure and electrochemical properties of graphite were studied by methods including thermogravimetric analysis,X-ray diffraction,raman spectroscopy,surface area analysis,scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,and electrochemical *** graphite particles were coated uniformly by the pyrolytic carbon in the *** coating changed the degree of graphitization,decreased the average specific surface area,and improved the electrochemical performance *** best battery anode performance was obtained when the mass ratio of pitch to graphite was 10%,the heat treatment temperature was 1100℃,and the softening point of the pitch was 250℃.Under the optimum conditions,the irreversible capacity loss in the first cycle at 0.1 C was only 23 mAh/g,and the first coulombic efficiency reached 94.2%.The capacity retention rate was 98.3%after 100 charge-discharge cycles at 0.1 C.
