The inaugural National competition for Carbon dioxide Capture, conversion and Utilization Innovation ("Bloomag Cup") was successfully held on July 30, 2023 in Beijing. This competition was initiated by Professor Tianwei Tan and Prof. Yongqin Lv from Beijing University of Chemical technology (BUCT), and jointly organized by BUCT and Chongqing University. The competition is slated for annual recurrence, with a rotational hosting arrangement involving various academic institutions. The ongoing competition underscores the primacy of pioneering and exploratory facets inherent to technological innovation. Its principal objective is to catalyze the development of foundational and cutting-edge technological competencies within the realm of co capture, conversion, and utilization. The overarching goals encompass identifying promising technological breakthroughs, fostering emerging talent in scientific and technological innovation, facilitating high-quality sustainable economic growth within China, and actively contributing to global efforts towards peak carbon emissions and achieving sustainable development goals for humanity. This inaugural Bloomag Cup saw wide participation from students and researchers, generating fruitful discussions that advance the nascent field. It is hoped this competition will continue cultivating solutions that help mitigate anthropogenic climate change through innovative carbon dioxide technologies.

Using High Temperature cooking for Bone Soup: Physicochemical Properties, Protein Oxidation and Nutritional Value

Bone soup with its well-known nutrition and potential benefits for human health is drawing consumers’ attention. However, the influences of industrialized machining on the quality of bone soup are yet to be illustrated. In this study, the color, physicochemical properties, nutritional value, and oxidation extent of bovine bone soup after cooking at 121 ℃ for different time (1-6 h) were estimated. These results showed that during the 6-h cooking process, protein in bovine bone dissolved continuously and migrated to the soup with the long cooking time, with the highest concentration of 47.6 mg/mL;The proportion of fragments with molecular weight above 10 kda decreased by 21.4%;The protein oxidation degree increased, and the sulfhydryl loss rate was as high as 65.3% at the end of cooking. There were 17 kinds of amino acids in bone soup, in which 8 were essential amino acids. Glycine was the most abundant amino acid, followed by proline, accounting for about 23% and 13% of the total. According to amino acid evaluation, limiting amino acids of bone soup were tryptophan and methionine. Overall, these results provided technical support for the development of bone soup and its related high-protein products at industrialization. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Located in south of Eastern Venezuela Basin, Orinoco Oilfield is an onshore heavy oil field in South America. The heavy oil is known for its high content of acids, heavy metals and asphaltenes with a viscosity of 1000-10000mPa·s. According to the reserve report released by PdVSA by the end of 2016, JUNIN Block that is situated in east of Orinoco Oilfield has an OOIP of 178*108bbl. data of drilled wells and distances between offset horizontal intervals in Orinoco were both studied to improve ultimate production rates. 3-dimension borehole trajectories were designed and the most effective anti-collision measures were taken. After optimziation 8-12 horizontal wells are distributed on one pad. As the horizontal interval extends, the stable production time is prolonged and the accumulative production per well improves. However, the recovery rate stops increasing when the horizontal interval is over 1600m in JUNIN Block. Economically a large space between offset horizontal intervals results in fewer wells and lower costs, but a smaller space contributes to a higher production efficiency per well. If the space exceeds 600m, the accumulative production rate increases much more slightly. A three-dimension well trajectory consists of a vertical interval, an angle building interval, an angle holding interval, an angle building & direction changing interval, a direction turning interval as well as an absolute horizontal interval. Since Petrobras developed the first ever offshore deep reservoir (Lula) by scale in 2006, Brazil has been conducting a progressive campaign targeting hydrocarbons buried under deep water, which contributes to discovery of Lula, Carioca, Jupiter, Buzios, Libra and other giant presalt reservoirs in Santos Basin after Campos Basin, where there are 9 oil fields ranking among the top 20 offshore oil fields in terms of OOIP. This study aimed to investigate the long-term biocompatibility, safety, and degradation of the ultrathin nitrided iron bioresorbable scaffold (BrS) in vivo, encompassing the whole process of bioresorption in porcine coronary arteries. Fifty-two nitrided iron scaffolds (strut thickness of 70 μm) and 28 Vision co–Cr stents were randomly implanted into coronary arteries of healthy mini-swine. The efficacy and safety of the nitrided iron scaffold were comparable with those of the Vision stentwithin 52 weeks after implantation. In addition, the long-term biocompatibility, safety, and bioresorption of the nitrided iron scaffold were evaluated by coronary angiog-raphy, optical coherence tomography, micro-computed tomography, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometry and histopathological evaluations at 4, 12, 26, 52 weeks and even at 7 years after im-plantation. In particular, a large number of struts were almost completely absorbed in situ at 7 years follow-up, which were first illustrated in this study. The lymphatic drainage pathway might serve as the potential clearance way of iron and its corrosion products.

We report a high power pulse burst polarization-maintaining fiber amplification system that enables 22 W, 1MHz pulse bursts with sub-pulse duration of ~41 fs and repetition rate of ~1 GHz. The seeded GHz pulses are generated from GHz mode-locked fiber laser, and its power is further boosted by a hybrid scheme combining chirped-pulse amplification and self-similar amplification. Because the common double-cladding Yb 3+ -doped fiber is used as gain fiber, the simple fusion operation makes the system more compact and reliable.

Using drone aerial photogrammetry and LidAr technology, we produced the geographic data layer for multiple potential large-scale landslide areas located in Taiwan. The mobility and flexibility of aerial mapping using drones have become an efficient method for modern topographic surveying and mapping. The advantage of using Unmanned Laser Scanning (ULS, UAV LidAr) in building high-accuracy and high-detailed digital elevation models (dEM) is based on the use of laser pulses to pass through vegetation pores. The orthophoto produced by aerial photogrammetry allows for the identification of topographic surface features. Hence, the displacement and deformation data of the potential large-scale landslide can be determined.

The OPtimization of Electric Vehicle Autonomy (OPEVA) project enhances data aggregation for Electric Vehicles (EVs) by collecting critical real-time data (i.e., vehicle performance, battery health, charging behaviours) through heterogeneous data acquisition devices built on robust HW and integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) protocols. By combining internal sensor data and driver-specific behaviours with external information (e.g., road conditions, charging station availability), OPEVA maximizes vehicles performance, establishing secure and seamless data communication between EVs and the infrastructure, and using IoT and cloud computing tools alongside Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) devices and networks. This paper focuses on the extensible data model ensuring semantic data integrity considering in- and out-vehicle factors, presenting data acquisition solutions dealing with OPEVA's semantic data model and their use in various Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered use cases (e.g., range prediction, route optimization, battery management).

Open-world object detection (OWOd), as a more general and challenging goal, requires the model trained from data on known objects to detect both known and unknown objects and incrementally learn to identify these unknown objects. The existing works which employ standard detection framework and fixed pseudo-labelling mechanism $(PLM)$ have the following problems: (i) The inclusion of detecting unknown objects substantially reduces the model's ability to detect known ones. (ii) The $PLM$ does not adequately utilize the priori knowledge of inputs. (iii) The fixed selection manner of $PLM$ cannot guarantee that the model is trained in the right direction. We observe that humans subconsciously prefer to focus on all foreground objects and then identify each one in detail, rather than localize and identify a single object simultaneously, for alleviating the confusion. This motivates us to propose a novel solution called CAT: LoCalization and IdentificAtion Cascade detection Transformer which decouples the detection process via the shared decoder in the cascade decoding way. In the meanwhile, we propose the self-adaptive pseudo-labelling mechanism which combines the model-driven with input-driven $PLM$ and self-adaptively generates robust pseudo-labels for unknown objects, significantly improving the ability of CAT to retrieve unknown objects. Experiments on two benchmarks, i.e., MS-coco and PASCAL VOC, show that our model outperforms the state-of-the-art methods. The code is publicly available at https://***/xiaomabufei/CAT.

In Changning and Weiyuan shale gas blocks, casing deformation occurred in more than 30% of wells during hydraulic fracturing, which restricted the efficient development of shale gas in China. Ning 201-H1 was a typical well which experienced casing deformation. The characteristics of casing deformation, include deformation time, deformation position and deformation shape, were analyzed, and the results indicate that the casing deformation was caused by a small fault slip. Using Microseismic monitoring data and ant tracking data，the dip and inclination angles of small faults were identified, and the mechanical activity of the fault was analyzed based on the in-situ stress and treating pressure data. The results show that under the in-situ stress conditions and treating pressure, the fault is critically stressed and was activated during fracturing, which caused casing deformation. The characteristics of cementing quality data, fracturing curve and microseismic data were analyzed. due to poor cementing quality, the fracturing fluid may break through the gap between casing and formation during fracturing, intrude the fault and finally activate the fault.
