The development of high-performance gas hydrate inhibitors for drilling fluids is of great significance for developing natural gas hydrates safely and efficiently. To improve the gas hydrate inhibition performance of a conventional gas inhibitor poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP), a random copolymer (SYZ-1) of N-vinyl pyrrolidone (NVP) and N, N-dimethyl acrylamide (dMAA) was synthesized, imparting abundant alkylated groups on the backbone of PVP. The results of experiments and molecular simulations illustrate that the mechanism of the inhibitors varies at different stages. The inhibitors retard hydrate formation by reducing the solubility of methane molecules in water during the nucleation phase. However, during the formation phase, the hydrate inhibition is achieved by adsorption. In particular, the absorption of PVP on the surface of hydrate can be effectively improved by alkylation, and the interaction energy of SYZ-1 with the hydrate nucleus was increased by 3.22 times compared to PVP. A molecular model for evaluating the interaction of inhibitors with hydrates is also successfully developed, which corresponds well to the experimental results. These results contribute to a better understanding of hydrate formation in drilling fluids and implications for developing new materials for high-performance hydrate drilling fluids. © 2022, The Authors. In this paper, we present a method to robustly estimate normal of unorganised point clouds, namely Iterative Weighted Principal component Analysis (IWPCA). Since the neighbourhood of a point in a smooth region can be well approximated by a plane, the classical Principal component Analysis (PCA) is a widely used approach for normal estimation. Iterations are applied and bilateral spatial normal weights are introduced in each iteration for the local plane fitting to enhance the reliability of the PCA results. Minimal Spanning Tree (MST) is used to reorient flipped normals. We demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method on a variety of examples. © 2020 Inderscience Enterprises ltd.

This paper studies a low loss transmission line structure for 100 GHz to 300 GHz, which is considered as terahertz bands for 6G. Transmission losses of the microstrip-line (MSL) and the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) are discussed by theoretical calculations. The theoretical calculations predict the loss of the MSL can be lower than that of the SIW at the very high frequency like the terahertz bands. To confirm the prediction, the MSL and the SIW have been designed and fabricated on the package substrate. The measurement results show that the loss of the SIW is lower than that of the MSL at 170 GHz whereas the loss of the SIW is higher than that of the MSL at 300 GHz as predicted by the theoretical analysis.

Measurement and correction of Interface Shear Stiffness between Slab and Base for concrete Pavement

Interface parameters could affect the adhesion and durability performance of cement concrete pavements. In order to improve the pavement performance, the interface shear stiffness between the slab and the base of concrete pavement were investigated accurately. A horizontal shear tester was developed which could simulate the vertical pressure. The bond-slip curve of the specimens that the interface treated by three different measures was determined, such as emulsified asphalt, geotextile and asphalt concrete. Then, the correction of interface vertical pressure was made for average shear stiffness based on simple iterative method, and the equivalent shear stiffness of three types of specimens was recommended. The results showed that the specimen treated by emulsified asphalt required the maximum shear force, and asphalt concrete was minimum during the static friction stage. The contact states between slab and base are significantly correlated with the interface treatments. So, the interface treatments selection needed to find a balance between flexural tensile stress and thermal stress of the slab. In the sliding friction stage, the shear resistances of three types of interface treatment methods were significantly weakened and the average shear stiffness declined dramatically. It is very different for interface shear stiffness when the pavement structure in different using stages. The interface parameter must consistent with the using state of the pavement during the analysis process of the pavement structure. © 2019, Higher Education Press Limited company.

We collected blood from coronavirus disease 2019(coVId-19)convalescent individuals and investigated SArS-coV-2-specific humoral and cellular immunity in these discharged ***-up analysis in a cohort of 171 patients at 4-11 months after the onset revealed high levels of IgG antibodies.A total of 78.1%(164/210)of the specimens tested positive for neutralizing antibody(NAb).SArS-coV-2 antigen peptide pools-stimulated-IL-2 and-IFN-y response can distinguish coVId-19 convalescent individuals from healthy ***,NAb survival was significantly affected by the antigen peptide pools-stimulated-IL-2 response,-IL-8 response,and-IFN-y *** antigen peptide pools-activated Cd8+T cell counts were correlated with *** antigen peptide pools-activated natural killer(NK)cell counts in convalescent individuals were correlated with NAb and disease *** data suggested that the development of NAb is associated with the activation of T cells and NK *** work provides a basis for further analysis of the protective immunity to SArS-coV-2 and for understanding the pathogenesis of *** also has implications for the development of an effective vaccine for SArS-coV-2 infection.

Structures, Thermal Stability and Electronic Characteristics of the Al-Sc Clusters

There are only two reports of the Al-Sc clusters currently available through the Google Scholar. Here, structure characteristics, thermal stability and electronic properties of (AlSc)n (n = 1-6) clusters are investigated using the GA-dFT method. The Au-Li clusters prefer spherical configurations involving singlet and triplet states. Among them, the highly symmetric C2v structure is the most stable for the (AlSc)3 cluster. The AIMd simulations show that the (AlSc)3 still has a good thermal stability at 700K. The molecular orbitals reveal that the (AlSc)3 has a completely filled superatomic shell (1S21P61d82S2). The total dOS of the (AlSc)3 comes from joint contributions of Al and Sc. The NPA charge shows that charge transfer occurs from the Sc to Al atoms. Moreover, the Infrared and raman spectroscopy are obtained to manifest structure details of the cluster. Our work can further provide beneficial inferences for larger sized Al-Sc clusters in the future. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In the literature, we investigate the decentralized control of networked nonlinear agents with uncertainties and unknown control directions, i.e., the sign of the high-frequency-gain in agent’s dynamic is unknown. A Nussbaum-type adaptive controller is designed with the aid of nonlinear damping technique for each agent such that consensus of the network can be achieved, meanwhile, the overall system is insured to be bounded. The controller for each agent is composed by a Nussbaumtype item which seeks the control direction adaptively, a distributed item to drive the system to consensus and a nonlinear damping item to handle the uncertainty in agent’s dynamic. It is proved that consensus of the network can be realized via the proposed controller. Moreover, the final consensus state is indicated, which is significant for consensus of networked nonlinear *** results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.

Fabrication of covalent organic frameworks (coFs) at room temperature is necessary due to their easy preparation, practical scale-up, and low cost to overcome the limitations of solvothermal and high-temperature synthesis. Herein, we fabricated flower-shaped coFs (FScoFs) that were synthesized in various ratios of ortho-xylene and butanol mixture solvents. The FScoFs exhibited excellent crystallinity with a pore size of approximately 10 nm, which was confirmed by PXrd and BET measurements. To utilize the FScoFs as a drug carrier, doxorubicin (dOX) was loaded, followed by encapsulation of hyaluronic acid to increase the colloidal stability of FScoFs in a physiological environment (FScoFs-dOX-HA). The encapsulation efficiency and the drug loading capacity of FScoFs-dOX-HA were 21.23 % and 29.82 %, respectively. Moreover, 92 % and 59 % of dOX is released in acidic environments and elevated GSH environments, proving the sensitivity of the FScoFs as carriers. The excellent drug release mechanism of FScoFs-HA-dOX is demonstrated by FScoFs imine nitrogen protonation under acidic environment confirmed by its zeta potential changes under various physiological environments. The designed FScoFs-dOX-HA was demonstrated to be a pH-sensitive drug carrier to deliver anticancer drugs into cancer cells. The MTT and drug internalization data demonstrated sustained dOX release from FScoFs-dOX-HA. Finally, the real-time fluorescence demonstrates the effectiveness of the FScoFs-dOX-HA upon cellular uptake and release of the anticancer drug. Thus, the FScoFs system reported here opens a new path in coF research for drug carrier systems. © 2023

We study the nonlocal magnetotransport through a strongly correlated quantum dot, connected to multiple terminals consisting of two normal and one superconducting (SC) leads. Specifically, we present a comprehensive view on the interplay between the crossed Andreev reflection (CAr), the Kondo effect, and the Zeeman splitting at zero temperature in the large SC gap limit. The ground state of this network shows an interesting variety, which varies continuously with the system parameters, such as the coupling strength ΓS between the SC lead and the quantum dot, the coulomb repulsion U, the impurity level ɛd, and the magnetic field b. We show, using the many-body optical theorem which is derived from the Fermi-liquid theory, that the nonlocal conductance is determined by the transmission rate of the cooper pairs TCP=14sin2Θsin2(δ↑+δ↓) and that of the Bogoliubov particles TBG=12∑σsin2δσ. Here, δσ is the phase shift of the renormalized Bogoliubov particles, and Θ≡cot−1(ξd/ΓS) is the Bogoliubov-rotation angle in the Nambu pseudospin space, with ξd=ɛd+U/2. It is also demonstrated, using Wilson's numerical renormalization group approach, that the CAr is enhanced in the crossover region between the Kondo regime and the SC-proximity-dominated regime at zero magnetic field. The magnetic fields induce another crossover between the Zeeman-dominated regime and the SC-dominated regime, which occurs when the renormalized Andreev resonance level of majority spin crosses the Fermi level. We find that the CAr is enhanced and becomes less sensitive to magnetic fields in the SC-dominated regime close to the crossover region spreading over the angular range of π/4≲Θ≲3π/4. At the level crossing point, a spin-polarized current flows between the two normal leads, and it is significantly enhanced in the directions of Θ≃0 and Θ≃π where the SC proximity effect is suppressed.

Micro-environmental viscosity affects microbial metabolism and metabolite diffusion and is closely associated with the deterioration process of liquid system. However, the utilization of viscosity-dependence fluorescent probes are unsatisfactory because these probes are artificially synthesized with large amount of organic solvents consumption. Thus, the development of natural products for monitoring viscosity variations in a micro-scale method has become considerable attempt. Herein, through simple stepwise extraction of Piperine (Pip) from the Piper nigrum L., we developed this natural product as a luminescent tool for detecting liquid viscosity at a molecular level. Based on the incorporation of benzo-dioxolane and piperidinone with rotatable single and double conjugated chemical structure, a typical intramolecular charge transfer system was formed. Pip displayed high signal-to-noise (71-fold) for viscosity with outstanding selectivity, and excellent photostability, adaptability, pH stability was exhibited. With the viscosity sensitivity coefficient (x=0.63) and large Stokes shift in both low viscosity water and high viscous media, the Pip has not only been applied to determine the thickening effects, but also to track the viscosity fluctuation during the liquid spoilage process successfully. We hope that this natural product extraction strategy will be an interesting and general strategy for micro-environmental viscosity detection across the liquid safety inspection. © 2025, The Authors.
