Gold (Au) nano-island arrays were deposited on the glass substrate to fabricate surface-enhanced raman scattering (SErS) substrates by in-situ thermal evaporation (deposited and annealed samples at the same time). The optimal SErS intensity deposited by various thicknesses and in-situ annealing temperatures of Au nano-island arrays would be investigated. The biomolecules (adenine) were dropped on the well-designed SErS substrate for precise and quantitative SErS detection. The characterization of Au nano-island arrays SErS substrate would be evaluated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and raman spectroscopy. The results showed that the optimal deposition thickness and annealing temperature of Au nano-island arrays SErS substrate is about 14 nm and 200 °C respectively, which can construct the smallest interparticle spacing (W)/ particle diameter (d) ratio and the lowest reflection (%) and transmittance (%) to form the strongest SErS intensity. Moreover, finite-difference time-domain (FdTd) simulation of the electromagnetic field distributions on Au nano-island arrays displays the similar trend with the experimental results. The 14 nm deposition with 200 °C in-situ annealing temperature would display the highest density of hot-spots by FdTd simulation. The reproducible Au nano-island arrays SErS substrates with tunable surface roughness, W/d ratio, and lower reflection and transmittance show promising potential for SErS detection of biomolecules, bacteria, and viruses. © 2023

Aldehyde-containing metabolites are reactive electrophiles that have attracted extensive attention due to their widespread occurrence in organisms and natural foods and double-edged effects on human health. Chemoselective labeling and global profiling of aldehydes in complex bio-samples are thus needed, and herein we described a newly-designed carbonyl-reactive Girard’s reagent (hydrazide-functionalized) as charged tandem mass (MS/MS) tags to facilitate selective capture, sensitive detection and semi-targeted discovery of aldehyde metabolites via hydrazone formation. Upon isotope-coded derivatization with a pair of labeling reagents, 1-(4-hydrazinyl-4-oxobutyl)pyridin-1-ium bromide (HBP) and its deuterium-labeled counterpart HBP-d5, the aldehyde analytes were converted to hydrazone derivatives, which generated characteristic neutral fragments of 79 da and 84 da, respectively, through the class-specific MS/MS fragmentation. The isobaric HBP-d0/HBP-d5 labeling based LC-MS/MS method was validated by relative quantification of human urinary aldehydes and discrimination analysis between diabetic and control samples. The unique isotopic doubles (Δm/z=5 da) by dual neutral loss scanning (dNLS) provided a more generic reactivity-based screening strategy that allowed non-targeted profiling and identification of endogenous aldehyde species even amidst noisy data. The LC-dNLS-MS/MS screening of cinnamon extracts led to find 61 possible natural aldehydes and guided discovery of 10 previously undetected congeners in this kind of medicinal foods, which expands the current knowledge on cinnamon aldehyde composition and highlights its potential impacts on food safety and nutritional efficacy. © 2023, The Authors. Aiming at the problem of privacy protection in recommender systems, a balanced optimization model between privacy protection parameters and recommendation accuracy is proposed. Taking online learning resource recommender system as an example, this paper builds a matrix factorization model and studies the relationship between privacy protection parameters and recommendation accuracy after introducing differential privacy noise into data input module and model training module. According to the implicit feedback characteristics of online learning resource recommender system data, a negative sampling algorithm by resource-popularity is proposed. The experiment is based on the original and balanced data from the Network college of Xi'an Jiaotong University using Baidu PaddlePaddle platform, and the root mean square error is used as an evaluation index to measure the recommendation accuracy. The results show that negative sampling makes higher prediction accuracy than the original. And the recommendation prediction accuracy is directly proportional to the reciprocal of differential privacy protection parameter. When rMSEs are less than 2.0 and 1.3 and the privacy protection parameter is 7 and 3, respectively, both the input-based algorithm and the model-based algorithm achieve best balance. Moreover, when the privacy protection parameter is no more than 5, the model-based algorithm has a higher recommendation accuracy than the input-based algorithm. © 2021, Editorial Office of Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Improving energy efficiency and reducing fossil energy-based operations are required to mitigate global warming. Industrial fields consume large amount of energy and are expected to play significant roles in the measures to mitigate global warming. Several industrial facilities are operated intricately in their production activities. Multiple products are manufactured concurrently to adhere to their quality, product cost, and due date. Their energy consumptions affect each other. Therefore, industrial facility energy management system (FEMS) is required and sold by many suppliers. Because energy consumption of plants are depended on their products, FEMS are constructed to meet their specific requirements; thus, it is difficult to develop international standard for FEMS. recently, use cases with energy interchange between multiple plants are increasing; thus, common understanding of energy management process with FEMS and information exchange between the factories are needed. So, Japan Electronics and Information technology Industries Association led a development project and suggested an FEMS international standard. In this paper, development international standard process including clarification of background and current issues; additionally, a consensus in IEC discussion and outline of the published standard are described.

In recent years, rapid digitization and technological advances have enabled governments and companies to utilize various types of personal information, including environment, medical, and lifestyle. Privacy protection is an important issue in the utilization of personal information, and anonymization methods such as k-anonymization and 1-diversity have been proposed in the past. However, to utilize data effectively, it is also important not to lose the usefulness of the information. Privacy protection and preserving the usefulness of information are in a trade-off relationship, and balancing these two aspects has been a difficult problem. recently, microaggregation using clustering algorithms has been attracting attention as an anonymization method that ensures the usefulness of the data while protecting privacy. In this study, we proposed a new microaggregation method based on iterative processing using probabilistic latent semantic analysis and evaluated the proposed method based on the use case. The use case is a classification of social isolation and an analysis of the relationship with physical frailty risk using the classified groups. compared to microaggregation using quasi-identifiers and microaggregation based on a conventional clustering algorithm, the proposed method was able to find social isolation characteristics obtained in the raw data with higher accuracy. In addition, in a more detailed analysis focusing on a population with certain characteristics, the proposed method was able to replicate the analysis results obtained using the raw data and to make appropriate assessments of the health risks.

In this paper, a long-term ship-monitoring system is designed based on a vector hydrophone. It enables the detection and localization of ships at sea. This system equipped with a vector hydrophone is installed on an ocean buoy or an off-shore platform, and uses a field programmable gate array (FPGA) and a microcontroller as the control cores to automatically collect ocean noise for further analysis. The detection of ship presence or absence is achieved through sound energy calculation using the vector hydrophone signal, followed by a comparison with an adaptive threshold. Additionally, cross spectrum analysis is applied to estimate the direction of arrival (dOA) of the ship. The system's performance is evaluated through simulations and sea trials. Their results demonstrates its capability of target detection and dOA estimation. This study is expected to meet the practical requirements for intelligent ocean monitoring applications.

Bulk noble metal-semiconductor composites can be chosen as photocatalysts to carry out the continuous-flow (C-F) degradation of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) whereas their preparation is complex and uncontrollable. Here, bulk Au/co-CC@iron ball is designed and prepared by a facile and controllable route without any toxic chemical. The bulk Au/co-CC@iron ball shows excellent photocatalytic activity and reusability for the 4-NP degradation, which can be ascribed to the synergistic action of active components and foliated iron ball surface. Furthermore, the highly active Au/co-CC@iron ball is used as packing material to construct a new-type of packed reactor, by which the C-F degradation of 4-NP is successfully achieved. As-fabricated packed reactor and its tandem module exhibit superior photocatalytic performance for the C-F degradation of 4-NP. Noteworthy, based on the tandem module with six reactors, the removal rate of 4-NP can reach up to 2750 µmol/h. Meanwhile, the reactor and its module display satisfactory operational stability and reusability in the C-F degradation of 4-NP. Clearly, the provided route is effective for the preparation of bulk noble metal-semiconductor composites with exceptional performance, which can also be a prospective strategy to obtain bulk packing materials to serve for the C-F degradation. © 2023, The Authors. Molybdenum (Mo) is considered as a promising plasma-facing material, which is expected to be used in the manufacture of critical components for the NBI ICP source. Hydrogen isotope retention and bubble formation are regarded as the unavoidable issues that degrade the metal properties in the ion source. In this work, the evolution of hydrogen bubbles in Mo pre-irradiated by 35 eV hydrogen ion energy during different annealing processes is studied through conductive atomic force microscopy (CAFM) observation. Meanwhile, the corresponding numerical simulation is applied to analyze the mechanisms of hydrogen bubble growth. It is found that the average size and density of hydrogen bubbles are enhanced with the increase of hydrogen ion fluence at 400 K in experiments and simulations. In the subsequent annealing process, it is demonstrated that annealing temperature has a certain effect on bubble growth and evolution. No obvious changes in bubbles are observed at the annealing temperature below 573 K. The average radius of hydrogen bubbles is increased by ~1.0-2.5 nm in Mo annealed at 673-873 K. The bubble size increases with the rise of annealing temperature, indicating that the thermal annealing promotes the growth of bubbles. When the temperature rises above 873 K, the change in bubble size is not obvious. The simulation results indicate that temperature-induced changes in the internal pressure of hydrogen bubbles leads to the growth of bubbles, but this mechanism is not significant under high annealing temperatures due to the release of hydrogen from the surface. © 2022, The Authors. A novel and operationally simple visible-light induces oxidative ring opening of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines accessed to esters has been discussed. Notably, the method uses C 6 F 5 I(OcoCHF 2 ) 2 as free radical initiator, combining O 2 to promote the cleavage of C-C and C-N bonds under ambient conditions. The reaction also presents favorable selectivity and good groups tolerance. Besides, the possible reaction mechanism is proposed based on the preliminary control experiments. © 2022, The Authors.
