At present, the chelating acid fluid and Prd drilling fluid in the period of well drilling and completion are still applied as the workover fluid in Weizhou Oilfield. Leakage often occurs due to the insufficient plugging ability of chelating acid workover fluid, which will not only lead to the waste of workover fluid but also cause reservoir damage and low oil and gas production. After Prd drilling and workover, it is difficult to break the gel, resulting in plugging and the sharp drop of oil output. The test shows that the lower pay zone has no output, which causes great economic losses and brings great difficulties to the exploitation of oil and gas resources. Aiming at the problems of insufficient plugging performance, poor reservoir protection performance, difficulty in self-plugging removal, and environmental protection of the existing workover fluid system in Weizhou Oilfield, an environment-friendly self-degradable polymer film workover fluid system was developed, and the formula was seawater + 1% dristemp + 3% film-forming agent + 2% bionic inhibitor + 3% super-amphiphobic agent. The system has high temperature stability, good pressure-bearing and plugging performance and water blocking resistance, and can effectively protect the reservoir. In addition, through the environmental protection performance test, it is determined that the formula has excellent characteristics of safety, non-toxicity, and no environmental pollution. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

With the continuous deepening of exploration and development for Fuman oilfield, the existing casing program fails to effectively deal with downhole problems such as "overflow, leakage and collapse" caused by local high-pressure brine developed layer, leading to longer drilling time and higher drilling safety risk. Therefore, it is urgent to optimize the existing casing program according to the characteristics of geology and engineering to meet the requirements of safe drilling. For this purpose, the three types of pressure profiles in the Fuman oilfield are firstly established by using the drilling, logging, mud logging, and testing data, and the necessary setting points and risk points of geology and engineering are determined. Then, considering the level of drilling technology and the requirements of drilling and completion, the optimization and expansion scheme of casing program is formed. Finally, combined with the drilling parameters, the feasibility analysis of casing program in terms of casing string design, drilling tool strength verification, hydraulic simulation, well control risk assessment, drilling time and drilling cost is discussed. The analysis results show that the optimized casing program can effectively seal the local high-pressure brine developed layer, solve the problem of "overflow, lost circulation and collapse", reduce the downhole problems, and shorten the drilling time by 20 ~ 25 days and save 2 ~ 3 million per well. The investigates indicate that the optimization of the casing program not only effectively makes up for the shortcomings of the current casing program, reduces the drilling risk, and improves the drilling efficiency, but also provides an important reference for the drilling engineering design of the Fuman oilfield. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In recent years, pressure in the annulus of gas storage reservoir injection wells has become increasingly common. This presents a significant challenge to the safe and efficient operation of gas storage reservoirs and the integrity of injection wells. This paper presents a systematic introduction to the prevention and control measures of annular pressure. The introduction is based on research into the development status of prevention and control methods both domestically and internationally. The measures mainly include two aspects. Firstly, for the sealing failure of the tubular column, the differential pressure activated blocking agent is used for management. Secondly, for the sealing failure of the cement ring, the sealing agent is managed by extruding cement, resin, and other blocking agents. The text analyses the advantages and disadvantages of the treatment technology in depth, in combination with existing research. The repair methods for gas storage reservoir annulus with pressure have problems such as insufficient construction conditions, poor implementation effect, and limited types of blocking agents available. Additionally, the different working conditions and performances of the reservoir annulus are taken into account. To ensure high efficiency and cost-effectiveness, we propose a new method for treating annulus pressure. This involves repairing any damage to the cement ring, restoring the production packer's seal, and rebuilding the integrity of the old wellbore. By doing so, we can guarantee the safety of gas storage reservoirs throughout the entire injection and production life cycle. It is important to maintain the integrity of the old wellbore to ensure the safety of gas storage during injection and extraction. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

In order to develop efficient, low-fluorescence, biodegradable lubricant for water based drilling fluid, biodiesel is used to compound Bd-1 lubricant. Lubrication mechanism is analysed in the process of drilling. The formula of compounded lubricant Bd-1 is got by optimizing experiment of emulsifier, extreme-pressure lubricant, and solid lubricant. Laboratory evaluation results show that Bd-1 lubricant is of no flsorescence, good lubricity in base mud and weighted drilling fluid, salt resistance, compatibility with drilling fluid, heat resistance and biodegradability. Bd-1 lubricant is up to the requirement of Q/SY17088-2016. The decreasing rate of extreme pressure lubricating factor is above 90%, which is as low as 0.02 when 2%Bd-1 is under the condition of 160 ℃. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The proportion of green energy, such as photovoltaic and wind power, in power generation is increasing year by year. However, green energy often exhibits significant periodic fluctuations. Therefore, it is imperative to construct a large number of compressed air energy storage facilities to meet the daily demand for peak power regulation. Utilizing the dissolved cavity of salt rock layers to build underground salt cavern energy storage presents an economical and reliable solution due to the low permeability and self-repairing properties of salt rock. Nevertheless, most salt rock layers in China contain mudstone interlayers, which pose challenges in accurately controlling the shape of salt caverns during the water injection process within the dissolved cavity. This often results in irregularities, unevenness, and large curvatures near the mudstone interlayer within the cavity shape. Such irregularities on the inner wall of cavities pose a significant threat to long-term stability as they are prone to stress concentration and collapse. The present study establishes a sophisticated three-dimensional geometric model based on the geometry and geological conditions of underground salt caverns in the Hengyang area. Utilizing COMSOL, a numerical simulation is conducted to investigate the long-term creep stability of irregularly shaped salt caverns over a period of 30 years. The impact of salt cavern geometry on long-term stability is quantitatively assessed through key parameters such as volume shrinkage rate, plastic deformation, and stress concentration areas. With the continuous development of unconventional resources, offshore heavy oil has attracted wide international attention. Heat fluid huff and puff and dual packer completion technology are often used in offshore heavy oil production. However, the annular pressure buildup caused by heat transfer and fluid expansion in the production has become a serious problem. It has brought a great threat to safe production of heavy oil. In this paper, regarding the dual packer completion and N2 injection, the temperature field in the production string is analyzed based on the heat transfer theory and energy conservation. The prediction method of APB is proposed considering the influence of the axial force and the cemented casing on the annular volume. At last, the mechanical strengths of the tubing and casing strings are evaluated. Analysis results indicate APB in C-annular is higher than that in the other annuli. The bottom of the un-cemented section of each string is most likely to be of failure. With the increase of N2 injection, APB decreases at a declining rate. The comparisons between the calculated value of APB by the proposed method and the measured data show high consistency with prediction errors less than 10%. The model developed in this paper is of referential value for annular pressure buildup mitigation and optimizing cementing operation. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The right bank of Amu darya gas field is an important oil and gas cooperation block of China ‘s overseas oil and gas business in the ‘ silk road economic belt ‘, due to the local shallow secondary high pressure gas reservoir and the target layer overlying thick salt gypsum layer, seriously affected the work area of safe and efficient drilling. Before the intervention of cnpc, 192 wells were drilled in this area, of which the engineering scrap rate was 23% and the geological scrap rate was 41%. In order to effectively solve the difficulties in the drilling operation on the right bank and improve the success rate of drilling, the drilling technology of shallow secondary high-pressure gas reservoirs and giant thick salt-gypsum gas reservoirs at home and abroad was investigated. Combined with the geological characteristics of the Amu darya gas field, the drilling engineering scheme was formulated, the advanced and complete drilling equipment was matched, and the field test and scheme optimization were carried out step by step. In view of the drilling risk caused by shallow secondary high-pressure gas reservoirs, the countermeasures of detecting the underground situation of slim hole wells, and then casing sealing after passing through dangerous formations according to the design expansion are adopted. In view of the difficulties in trajectory control of highly deviated wells in extremely thick salt-gypsum layers, the wellbore structure and wellbore trajectory design were optimized, and the directional drilling fluid for salt-gypsum layers was optimized. A series of trajectory control measures for salt-gypsum layers were proposed in combination with dynamic drilling tools and MWd technology. rigless radial drilling, or radial jet drilling involves drilling lateral holes from a vertical wellbore to enhance reservoir contact. radial jet drilling system components (diverter, hose, and bit) are conveyed via coiled tubing. A high-pressure hose and jetting bit drill lateral holes. Without a drill string, axial force cannot transfer to the bit. As a result, the bit is hydraulically propelled. radial jet drilling bits utilize back-jetting nozzles in addition to front-jetting nozzles. Maximizing penetration rate and hole length requires hydraulic optimization. Existing hydraulic models rely on field-measured parameters (discharge coefficient and flow rate ratio) that vary by bit design to predict propulsion force, bit hydraulic power, and maximum lateral hole length. This study aims to develop a generalized hydraulic model without requiring field-measured parameters for predictions. This model can optimize radial jet drilling by selecting suitable bit designs and lateral hole geometries. Based on fluid dynamics theory, the calculation model of circulation pressure loss in a horizontal well with a radial lateral is established;according to the on-site situations and characteristics of horizontal well with radial lateral, with the purpose of optimizing the maximum pressure drop of the drill bit, considering the constraint conditions such as breaking capability, rated pump pressure, strength of the equipment and rated pump power, the optimization model of hydraulic parameters of water jet radial horizontal drilling is built, which provides a new idea for the design of hydraulic parameters. The optimum displacement and maximum pressure drop of the drill bit increase with the increase of continuous tubing, diameter of high-pressure flexible hose and allowable value of maximum pump pressure, and decrease with the increase of drilling fluid viscosity. With the continuous development of global oil and gas resources, onshore and shallow water crude oil production is no longer sufficient to meet the demand. Therefore, deepwater oil and gas exploration and development have attracted high attention from various countries. In recent years, it has become a key focus of national offshore oil exploration and development. Therefore, the research on leak prevention and plugging technology for deep water in the ocean has become particularly important.
