This paper introduces the application of the 3d dubins curve method for sidetrack trajectory design in slot recovery. With the constraints and the objective given, the method can quickly determine the optimal sidetrack kickoff point (KOP) location and generate the optimal sidetrack trajectory in just seconds. robustness and efficiency of the method are demonstrated in the case studies with both synthetic data and real field data with various constraints such as location limits, angle limits and anticollision. The case studies also demonstrate how different constraints or objectives affect optimal sidetrack trajectory. Compared to the conventional sidetrack design process when complex constraints are involved, our method can be a game changer as it only cost seconds to investigate the objective subjected to the target and various constraints information. recent years, both exploration and development have made considerable progress in the duverney block shale gas in Canada. However, technical problems exposed in horizontal drilling engineering need to be optimized: 1) Loss is common in shallow formations;2) High downhole friction torque, low rOP and drilling cuttings accumulation in long horizontal well section;3) Borehole instability leads to hanger or packer failure;4) drill bits and PdM have short servicing life and low efficiency. Optimization comes from three aspects: (1) Based on previous drilling experience and latest formation condition and development requirement, we design a new well profile for the block taking into drilling safety and further development account;(2) Optimize strong inhibitive, easy-maintenance and high cutting-carrying capacity OBM to ensure the safety requirements in the ultra-long open hole section;(3) BHA and parameters optimization. Optimize drill bit with high-abrasiveness and axial efficiency according to logging data, drillability and UCS. Upgrade conventional PdM into high-performance PdM with even-wall thickness. By means of simulation and calculation, drilling parameters suitable for duverney block has been optimized. Based on the optimization above, a stable and efficient well profile has been improved solving hanger failure on-site efficiently and complete with composite casing design (4-1/2 inch plus 5 inch) in reservoir section;a 90/10 oil-water ratio OBM has been optimized and applied onsite;Combined with high performance PdC bit and even-wall PdM as well as optimized drilling parameters, higher rOP and longer horizontal section have been achieved. The optimization has made successful field application results:(1) Completion depth has been deepened gradually, from 18,080 ft in 2013 to 23,208 ft at present, with an increase of 28.3%;(2) Horizontal section length has been increasing dramatically, from 6,190 ft in 2013 to 10,301 ft at present, with an increase of 66.4%;(3) Th

Longmaxi S1l11 layer is main shale gas reservoir formation in southern Sichuan Basin, the difference of sublayer post-fracture response is significant. In this paper, we make triaxial tests with Longmaxi shale samples from southern Sichuan Basin layers to study damage character during hydraulic fracturing. Cohesive unit numerical simulation method is used to study the characteristics of hydraulic fracture (HF) propagation considering shale damage. The results show that in Longmaxi shale compression damage is divided into three stages: compaction, linear damage and rock failure. reservoir shale damage due to HF concentrated in the linear damage stage. The degree of S1l13, S1l14 shale damage is greater than that of S1l11, S1l12 shale with the same strain. Fracture propagate straight into S1l12 layer after S1Ⅰ11 layer fracture initiation, most fractures propagate into S1Ⅰ11 layer, and few fractures propagate into S1l13 layer after S1l12 layer fracture initiation, which is the similar HF in S1l13 layer. The fracture propagation of S1l11 and S1l12 layers is highly sensitive to the liquid injection displacement. With the increase of liquid injection displacement, the total length of the fracture increases significantly and the number of damage and failure units increases significantly. during HF propagation, more plane bedding and natural weak surfaces can be better connected and opened to form more branch fractures;The fracture propagations of S1l13 and S1l14 sublayers are highly sensitive to the liquid injection displacement. With the increase of liquid injection displacement, the total length of fractures and the number of damage and failure units are significantly reduced. during the fracture propagation of S1l13 and S1l14 sublayers, the fracture shape is relatively straight, and only a small amount of plane bedding and natural weak surfaces in the formation are connected and opened, forming a small number of inconspicuous branch fractures. © 2022 ArMA, American rock

With the rapid progression and increasing industrial relevance of cloud computing, the stability of cloud systems has become increasingly critical as they are handling a vast number of requests. To ensure this stability, the operational status of cloud servers, indicated by key performance indicators such as CPU load, network bandwidth, memory allocation, and disk 1/0 operations, must be continuously monitored. Any changes in these metrics could signify potential system malfunctions like network intrusion or hardware faults due to user activities. However, given the cyclical nature of the utilization metrics, which often exhibit, minute, hour, or daily patterns, merely setting thresholds may not effectively detect these anomalous behaviors. To address this, our research capitalizes on the advantages of the Transformer model, incorporating cyclical prior knowledge to extract these periodic patterns from the metrics, thereby enhancing the detection efficacy. Experimental results show that our proposed approach outperforms the Transformer model, improving the anomalous detection accuracy by 1.7 %, with the comprehensive evaluation metric (Fl score) surpassing 0.88.

Coupling Prediction Model and Influencing Factors Analysis of Injection and Production Gas Flow rate and Wellhead Pressure for Compressed Air Energy Storage in Salt Cavern

In order to accurately predict the injection and production gas flow rate and wellhead pressure for compressed air energy storage in salt cavern, a coupled prediction model of injection and production gas flow rate and wellhead pressure based on gas pipe flow theory was established in this paper. And, a high-precision and high-speed iterative solution algorithm was proposed to achieve accurate and rapid prediction of injection and production gas flow rate, wellhead pressure, and total pressure loss. Furthermore, the influences of factors such as cavity connectivity, number of cavities, cavity pressure, depth of injection and production wells, number of injection and production columns, size of injection and production columns, and injection and production medium on injection and production gas flow rate, wellhead pressure, and total pressure loss were discussed. The research results indicate that: ① There are good stability, fast convergence speed, and good consistency between the predicted results and on-site measured data for the model. ② Under the condition that cavity is connected, the total injection production flow rate will be evenly distributed to each injection production well, and the wellhead pressure and total pressure loss of each injection production well are consistent. Under the condition that cavity is not connected, injection production wells with higher cavity pressure have greater injection production gas flow rate and total pressure loss. ③ With the increase in the number of chambers, the decrease in chamber pressure, the increase in injection production well depth, the increase in the number of injection production columns, and the decrease in the size of injection production columns, the single tube injection production gas flow rate decreases. However, the changes in wellhead pressure and total pressure loss are not only influenced by various factors, but also closely related to operating conditions. ④ When other conditions remain unchanged,

This paper presents the design and analysis of a magnetic gear reducer with Halbach permanent magnet (PM) arrays developed for downhole electric drilling tools. 2d finite element simulation technology is used to investigate the performance benefits which can be obtained by the coaxial magnetic gears from applying the Halbach PM arrays. It is discovered that using the Halbach PM arrays can improve the radial magnetic field distribution of the air gap of the magnetic gears, increase the air gap flux density harmonics which is used to transfer torque and decrease air gap flux density harmonics undesired. After applying Halbach PM arrays, the output torque density increases by about 37.5%, the total losses of the magnetic gears are reduced by 34.2%, and the cogging torque is reduced by 45%, compared to the traditional design with radial magnetized PMs.

Petroleum and natural gas are pivotal in the energy sector, with drilling as the primary extraction method involving machine-driven drill bits for excavating underground and retrieving resources. Similar to various industrial processes, drilling efficiency is significantly affected by vibration-related issues, influencing petroleum extraction outcomes. To systematically identify vibrations during drilling, we developed a data collection system covering both surface and downhole components. The surface component primarily records parameters observed during drilling, while the downhole part integrates into the drilling tool, positioned near the drill bit to capture three-axis vibration signals. The amalgamation of data from both surface and downhole components facilitates the annotation of harmful vibrations. Using LSTM-FCN, we enhance vibration identification by processing surface and downhole data. Our SampleFusion (SF) algorithm further improves recognition by combining LSTM for surface and FCN for downhole data. This integrated approach enhances real-time monitoring and classification of drilling vibrations, contributing to industry efficiency and safety.

This paper presents a two-stage active-flux observer for sensorless control of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) in a case where the inverter output is filtered by a LC filter. First, a full-order active-flux observer is presented taking the LC filter into consideration. Stator voltages, stator currents and the active flux can be observed without additional measurements except the inverter output currents. Then, the feedback matrix of the observer is designed according to the stabilization algorithm, guaranteeing sufficient stability margin and a good performance in a wide-speed range. Based on the full-order observer, a two-stage observer is proposed to reduce the computation burden. Furthermore, an adaptive law is derived for rotor speed estimation. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed observer is verified by comprehensive simulation and experiments.

To enable long-distance communication within water injection well tubes, we leverage hydroacoustic communication technology for the required research. This study presents a theoretical analysis and experimental measurements of transmission attenuation in a steel pipe with a 110 mm diameter and 110 m length, fully filled with water. Based on the findings, it is recommended that acoustic signals be transmitted at frequencies no lower than 4346 Hz. Hydroacoustic signals were measured across frequency ranges of 2 kHz to 13 kHz and 4 kHz to 13 kHz, revealing average attenuation rates of 14 dB and 19 dB per 100 m, respectively. These values are lower than the geometric propagation attenuation observed in free space. As the frequency increases, attenuation also increases, in alignment with both theoretical predictions and empirical observations. The experimental results further demonstrate that the attenuation pattern in the frequency domain follows a logarithmic trend within the well pipe. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
