Synchronization and pinning control of complex networks is to regulate the agents' behavior and improve network performance. In this article, we review some recent developments in pinning control. Stability algorithms and pining strategies in different types of complex networks are presented and compared. Adaptive pinning control is also summarized. In addition, the research extended to discrete-time case is reviewed. As some related research, the development in consensus and flocking of multi-agent system are introduced briefly. At last, we give some ideas about pinning control in social networks. © 2012 Huazhong Univ of Sci & Tec.

The overview presents the development and application of Hierarchical Temporal Memory (HTM). HTM is a new machine learning method which was proposed by Jeff Hawkins in 2005. It is a biologically inspired cognitive method based on the principle of how human brain works. The method invites hierarchical structure and proposes a memory-prediction framework, thus making it able to predict what will happen in the near future. This overview mainly introduces the developing process of HTM, as well as its principle, characteristics, advantages and applications in vision, image processing and robots movement, some potential applications by using HTM, such as thinking process, are also put forward. © 2012 Huazhong Univ of Sci & Tec.

In this paper, we present an online ascent phase trajectory reconstruction algorithm using Gauss Pseudospectral Method. Gauss Pseudospectral Method (GPM) was used to transform the ascent phase trajectory optimization problem into Nonlinear Program Problem (NLP), we solve the problem using a optimization software named GPOPS in matlab. Using this method we can calculate the optimal trajectory control volume and feedback to update the guidance commands online. Credible analysis of the optimized results has been done to prove its accuracy. At last, we compare the trajectory recon- struction algorithm to a law without reconstruction algorithm via simulation with aerodynamic and thrust disturbance. The simulation results indicate that the method proposed above offers improved performance and has ability for real-time calculating. © 2012 Huazhong Univ of Sci & Tec.

This paper proposed a H∞ based controller design method for MIMO system. We use the bound real lemma to design the controller when the reference model is given. The BMI (Bi-linear Matrix Inequality) problem is turned into a LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) problem by congruence transformation and variables substitution. Given a decoupled reference model, the decoupling controller can be obtained by computer. We apply the method to a linearized vehicle model and the simulation results show the effectiveness of the approach. © 2012 Huazhong Univ of Sci & Tec.

Target detecting algorithm in infrared image is drawing extensive attention both at home and abroad, expecially when the infrared images own complex backgrounds and low resolution. How to make sure of the accuracy of infrared dim-small target detecting is the key point during the processing procedure. In this paper, a novel region of interest detecting algorithm is proposed for aerial small dim infrared target with clutter background. Different from traditional region of interest extraction method, we extract region of interest based on the grayscale merging algorithm and connected components analysising approach. First, the infrared image is reconstructed by separating the grayscale into several interval sections, then binarization is used to segment the processed image according to estimate the threshold value using minimum error probability;finally, analysis and select the connected components, to sift the accurate connected domain which contain the target. The validity of the proposed approach is demonstrated by experiment of infrared target region extraction. © 2012 Huazhong Univ of Sci & Tec.

OFDMA-based network performs well in maximizing the overall throughput, and meanwhile, problems with security requirements are focused to satisfy the increasing needs of confidential data transmissions. According to information theory, however, secure transmission undesirably antagonizes larger flow rate, thus a tradeoff is expected to balance these two matters. In this paper, we consider a downlink situation in OFDMA network, where all users request secure transmission from the base station yet the resources including power and subcarriers are limited such that an appropriate policy on resource allocation can play an instrumental role. Dynamic queueing and Lyapunov optimization are two highlights in this process. We utilize dynamic queueing so that merely instantaneous state of the network is enough, which is advantageous for easier implementations. On the other hand, by the means of Lyapunov optimization, we also prove our algorithm can obtain a performance of flow rate admission extremely close to the optimal. Applying this policy can reduce computational complexity significantly but still perform close to optimality. © 2012 IEEE.

C-mode imaging is one of the ultrasound imaging modalities. Compared with other modalities, e.g. A-mode, B-mode, M-mode, and Doppler, C-mode is mainly developed and used in industry testing. The potential of C-mode imaging for medical application has not been fully explored. In this paper, we design one 2-d plane array transducer through using the point spread function (PSF), and apply the 2d array transducer for C-mode imaging. The simulation results show that the generated C-mode images can display the anatomic structure and the pathological changes on the biological tissue. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
